Kawamori it is only the beginning, for it seems that Patrick spirit lives on in Aquarion EVOL, and it falls upon Andy to once again to spread love. This week’s target is another poor soul, while the Abductors are not the least controversial people they seem to have become rather Zentradi after the women were gone and their birth rate crashed. Jin may profess to love Alicia along with many other Alteans, but the sad fact is they have forgotten how to behave around women. It’s not their fault but while Patrick has found and acolyte in Andy to carry his legacy; Warera, Loli, and Conda have just inducted Jin into their brotherhood. While the Zentradi were warriors first, last, and always prior to Minmay, Jin is basically an idol obsessed otaku with his baggy clothes and emo hair. Not to say that Jin can’t pilot, but if you gave him the choice between Alicia and Radius Gniss he’ll take Alicia every time. I am not too concerned about how Sazanka is going to classify Jin, but I am sure she will do her due diligence and make correct assessment.
So yes Jin is now operating in a world where there are Reaiglers and to say the least he seems to be shocked and awed by their AWESOME POWERS. Thankfully Jin wasn’t watching some of Kaifun’s old films but seeing women for first time in person seems to have gotten to him. Despite his desperate clinging to his hologram of Alicia and longing for her songs, destiny has other ideas for Altea’s only hope. Jin was competent enough to make his way into Neo-Deeva but I think that has more to do with lax security measures and Fudo simply allowing Jin to waltz in. Certainly at this point anyway Jin may well go native after having met the terrifying Reaiglers. Jin seems to harbor some ill will toward Izumo for not flying him home to be with Alicia, but considering that the other option involves Mikage I cannot blame Izumo for making the most of it. Given how the last sortie fared, they will be more cautious the next time and it would be their first chance to get human intelligence on the foe. As much as Jin misses Alicia at least he is able to understand that his mission is to find a way to save his people. Altea might have the technological edge, but clearly even they are perplexed by Reaiglers. No matter how many books are written on them Jin really has no clue like most guys, only he has to deal with more unknown than most.
I had a grand time laughing at Jin’s YAKKKK DECULTCHA moments given how he thinks that only Reaiglers like Mix have special powers. Furthermore while Donar and Suomi seem to on their way through shipping procedures, Jin has no idea regarding the operation of prostetics and assumes that Suomi is capable of tearing a man’s limbs off. He could have done worse and assumed that Kaifun also shot lightning out of his hands. While Reaiglers fight viciously over melon-pan, Jin is right that Reaiglers have an ultimate weapon in TRUE TEARS because at end of the day men all but powerless to stop tears and if we care about the Reaigler in question there is an overwhelming sense of inferiority as we desperately seek a solution that probably isn’t there. Warera, Loli, and Conda can rest well knowing that their successor was every bit as confused as they were, although Jin has yet to be caught wearing a dress. I wonder if Millia is smiling a bit too knowing that Jin is behaving just like she did when she was shot down, though thankfully we were spared the knife fight and went right balcony.
Jin maybe confused about Reaiglers in general and while his dealings with his growing affection for Yunoha are just as confusing if not more so, at least Jin has Andy to help him. Right from the start Andy recognized that Jin needed help to dig a hole for someone, and while Jin repeatedly refused his aid, Andy never faltered and waited patiently for Jin to come around. Mix may say Andy has holes in his brain but there is no denying that Andy has an eerie sixth sense where he can see how things truly are and not simply how they are seen. Andy deduced the presence of an invisible girl behind Yunoha’s doll, Mix’s holes in her sad yet still lovely heart, and now Andy has figured out Jin’s true name and how Jin needed a hole as well. Jin probably isn’t going to confess publicly so soon, but that balcony scene with Yunoha was something special, or at least special enough to warrant a special BGM. Perhaps the Altean propensity for high tech was the direct result of having no known element users, Jin seem stunned that he was able to use a barrier to protect Yunoha. I think that whatever Mikage’s agenda is, it likely has something to do with him wanting to keep the Alteans in the dark about Element powers. Certainly it seems that Jin never knew he was an element user, and I get the feeling that love is needed to really bring it out.
Yunoha despite the mild crush on Amata seems to have moved on after seeing how heated the competition is. It’s not that she quit, more like she realized that it was a crush and it’s time for her to be stronger and stand on her own while fully visible for a time. I am glad that Yunoha isn’t ditzy moe blob and is compassionate enough to see a kindred spirit in Jin who is also a transfer student though he comes from a land that is very far away. It sucks being the new kid when you don’t start school along with everyone else. You stick out, don’t know who your friends are, and you are always playing catch up. Jin probably wasn’t feeling all that, but certainly he was alienated through a grand misunderstanding or simply having no understanding at all. Still Yunoha might not know it yet but while she and Jin will be in uncharted territory, Andy will likely help them along the road to happiness. Andy did bring Yunoha out of the shadows and Jin is already a digging brother.
Zessica has been absent as of late and I am beginning to miss her, but it is still good to have a few good ships to see sail. Her time will come, hopefully. In the meantime Cayenne seems to have Jin figured out though what they will do with Jin then is any one’s guess. I don’t think that they will kill him though, Jin is still the first Abductor that they have taken alive and certainly they would want to know more about why they have been taking people for all these years. Jin is likely to eventually side with Neo-Deeva and it would be something if his first sortie was to be against Kagura who is going wild next week. Maybe Kagura will feel betrayed that Jin left him to infiltrate Neo-Deeva to steal his smelly woman. Kagura seems to be the myopic type as he only sees the one who stinks deliciously and no one else, little does he know that Jin is thinking about the yunoha who humbled him in battle. On a happier note it seems that Mix and Andy are getting along fine with Mix now talking to Andy and not simply ignoring him. They got through the confession now comes the hard part of learning how to live with each other and getting use to each other’s quirks. If nothing else it seems that Andy is not the jealous type and abusing Amata for taking his place. Mix should be happy Andy may have trouble connecting dots but at least he sees more than most or at least enough to save her heart.
