Bokura ga ita 3

A remainder for all guys: Never make Nana angry. You will regret it when she goes all berserk at you right at your doorstep.

I am glad that she does not have a cleaver or a knife with her at the very least. Her damage ability is definitely less than any of the psychopath lolis in Higurashi….

This episode was a simple one, starting with the summer holidays coming. Nana and the rest of the class were busy with the skit that was going on for the school festival. However, expect the irresponsible and couldn’t be bothered Yano to spoil the mood of our cute heroin by missing rehearsals. The summer holidays had came quietly, as days passed by peacefully. Nana still missed Yano badly and she wanted to see him.

During one of the days in the holidays, she was invited by her classmates to go for a festival in some temple. She did not want to wear a yukuta until she realised that Yano actually wanted to go with the guys. With that, her frantic search for a yukuta came about and she was praised by all her classmates for being very cute. She was of course glad and really hoped that school uniforms were yukutas so that she could be more popular in school. I really think that she’s cute, with or without yukutas anyway. *Turns fanboy mood on*.

A talk with Takueshi made Nana realise that Yano was probably in grief over Yamamoto’s sister as it was their anniversary before she had died. Still, Takueshi assured that Nana that it was good enough that there was someone that was always staying energetic and happy around Yano. It would make him happy.

With that, she went over to Yano’s house, hoping to see how he was. With some scary squabbling about morons, stalkers and berserkers (dont ask me what’s going on, check the screenshots below), she finally entered the house where she asked what was going on. At first, she wanted to avoid the issue about the anniversary by asking whether he was sick or not. With his intense teasing, Nana with her innocent self went about asking “Why are you not here?” before turning all pale, thinking that she was asking the wrong question. Yano played along, saying that he was not feeling well due to his memories.

However, our great lady realised that he was kidding. I cannot tell whether he was lying or not, but it seemed that Yano had said that he was unable to wake up so early in the summer holidays, making Nana annoyed once again. As they went through the photo album, he suddenly remarked about her being on his bed! Even though there was seriously nothing going on, he came close toward Nana and with a moment of shock, she gasped and fell off the bed. Yano’s mom came in and was like @_@ when it all happened. I found that moment really amusing because it was just so cute.

After the little affair, Nana realised that she really just wanted to see Yano, just to see his smile and all. She then assured him that even if there was no one that Yano really loved in the world, his life would be balanced because there was someone that really loved him a lot (her, of course, awww T_T). She would always be watching him. Yano was clearly touched as she left the house in a hurry.

The next day of rehearsal, she assumed that Yano would not be there but he was, wearing a nice white dress that made him all handsome. I personally felt that Nana in a red coat was way cuter. He then showed Nana a picture of her wearing the yukuta, where Takeushi sent him a picture. She was touched and who wouldn’t when the man you looked most kept a picture of you in his handphone. Teasing her once again, he said that she was being unreasonable, saying all the “flawed logic about love and watching him all the time”. The truth was that he was really happy when she said that.

Poor Yano. He had been suffering so much on his own, refusing to get help from everyone. Now there is a girl like Nana that was willing to watch over him all the time, as a sentimental scene came. Awww, i was like swooning so hard at that scene that I was seriously unable to concentrate anymore after that.

The next scene went with Yano falling asleep, dreaming about how he had met Yamamoto’s sister (notice I used this term because i am all for Yano x Nana! The sister can just die >_>;; Wait, she’s dead). It was a meeting where Yamamoto’s sister (hereby known as YS) had a strong argument with her ex-boyfriend, the man that she was with when she died in a traffic accident. She then went up to them, as she recognised them being in the same class as Yamamoto in middle school. Showing the wound that was on her arm, she said that she liked the jerk (ex-boyfriend) because he was cool that way. It was then that they met up for the first time and learnt more about each other. The two of them, Yano and YS, never knew about happiness or how it feel like.

In a way, these two people were seriously lost in this world. They were only 15 and 16 years old, not old enough to understand the world, yet old enough to think and learn. That was a point of insecurity and the two of them got together as YS broke up with her boyfriend to be with Yano. The rest of the scenes covered about their happy days together, until he realised that she had a wound on her arm. She clearly met him and was hit. Taking revenge, Yano went over to that jerk and bashed him up. He was probably bashed up as well but YS was glad that he fought for her.

Yano then told her never to betray him and that to promise that they would stay together. She promised, in a sentimental scene until he got that phonecall. The phonecall where YS died in a traffic accident and that she was in the ex-boyfriend’s car. Yano then woke up, seeing Nana sitting and reading some comic book (i assume since she’s laughing). He asked her what’s happiness and she said.

“It’s a hard question. I guess it’s something hot that you feel in a cold place. Like hot steamed buns or something. It could also be your CD or reading a book…”

I guess that was the answer that Yano wanted, from the girl he was learning how to trust again.

Overall, this episode was once again nicely paced. It had good humor at good points of time but the interaction felt so real, as though it was normal to talk that way. I guess this is the beauty of this anime, not unlike Honey and clover, where you can clearly empathize with the characters inside. I am sure that the development of these two characters will be beautiful. Nothing is moving yet, but the artwork continued to be beautiful and I really like the part where Nana’s hair kept changing hairstyle.

*cough narcisstic cough*…Now leaving you with the screenshots!~ Can’t wait for the next episode with the preview showing about what happened in the festival. There was a “I love you”. Would it be them? My assumption is that it was a line from the act, but well, LET ME DREAM AT LEAST?

yea, tons of morons, assholes, son of a bitch, idiot laced around the anime. However, that is also to say that Bokura is realistic. They are playing characters that are of 16 years old and the language used seems very appropriate rather than “clean and polished” conversations.

I guess this is also why you can relate to it not only on the issues and problems faced, but right down to how they communicate!
