Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Mamoru A's! – 10 for the win!

Note: Since both Hinano and Kurogane have done up summaries of this episode, I am going to change my approach on the Mamoru series.

Random fanservice in dreams are for the win, especially when it’s Ayako and Shione together.

The Mamoru series honestly is Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A’s in this episode. I am not doing a “Yuuichi is Kyon in disguise” logic here. It is true and I even have pictorial evidence to proof it!

For the closest evidence, let us not look further to the “transformation” of the magical gear in a mahou shoujo series. We have the classical cute little blink from our mahou shoujo eme-chan in #1. Of course, without fail, the customary glowing pink light is there when the ribbon is set in #2. You wonder, why pink? This is because shoujo girls, especially mahou girls are stereotyped by the color pink. In any first appearance of the main shoujo girl, the color has to be pink. Do you think it will be a mahou shoujo girl series if the ribbon was to glow in a purple light? Or a brown light for that matter?

NO! IT MUST BE PINK! Hence, after the glow in #2 and the setting up of the ribbon (still in glow as in synchronization with the mahou shoujo transformation style) in #3, the next shot must be the ribbon forming in a materialized in #4. Lastly, without fail, the mahou shoujo girl has to strike out a very cute pose. No matter how stern or stupid they look, mahou shoujo always never fails to strike a pose that is cute. Try to name me a real mahou shoujo character that does not pose beautifully or cutely after a transformation. Hardly.

And yea, the sparkles are customary of all mahou shoujo series.

The skeptical bunch of people here might feel that Mamoru does not have any real magic. I will, with no doubts at all, seek to prove you wrong with the following screenshots. In a mahou shoujo series, magic is always required. Usually, a situation has to arrive when the mahou shoujo girl is in imminent trouble. Hence, as you can see from the above screenshot, Ayako is blushing so hard that she is going to explode. She is using up so much energy as she is starting to generate power!

Of course, there’s a need to lose control…”I gonna…” is always a good arbitrary and abstract line for otakus to fantasize about in mahou shoujo series.

STARLIGHT BREAKER, RAWR YOU DOUBTERS!

The next evidence of Mahou shoujo series when they are in their normal lives is that there must always be fanservice. It can be subtle or in the above case, rather blatant. Both ways appear in all shapes and sizes in a mahou shoujo series.

Flat chest-ness is somewhat a symbol of a mahou shoujo series. It gives this forbidden feeling. I am not too keen to elaborate too much. Tee hee.

Swimsuit lures are great too, even though they are seldom used in mahou shoujo series. Still, it is fanservice! Mahou shoujo is very into fanservice. Yes, yes.

A certain thing that people usually forget is that Mahou shoujo girls are usually very bad in sports but somehow gained abilities after getting their magic to be great at it. It is clear that Eme-chan is the same case. Look at her glow in greatness! The volleyball! Ball…Boo-….Ermm, never mind.

One point that is obvious in mahou shoujo series but often addressed is that all mahou shoujo girls have this cute yet sad look whenever they are troubled. Eme-chan shows the way on how to do it.

Most importantly, there must be random cute scenes like the above! So there, I have proven without doubt that Mamoru the series is in fact a copy of Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A’s. Not that i am complaining with the transformation.

Heh heh.

Whatever they’ve done with the blushing part its blinding. I mean, holy shit, the colours are too bright as a still. That’s one seriously embarassed girl and she seems to have worked her embarrassment into a defence mechanism as well.

it is. Just piss ayako off and she will blow you to pieces.

Literally. She has ….a rather quick temper. That, by the way, is a serious understatement.
