My anime new year resolutions for 2007 are …

You often hear people having new year resolutions. The common ones that people have are like “I wish I do better in exams!”, “I want to find a new boy/gay/lesbi/girl friend!” or “I want to date that girl who looks so like Tsuruya!”. I will like to remind you that the last thought is definitely not from me, because I personally think that Tsuruya in real life will literally creep me out. Of course, if she’s pretty, it’s a totally different story altogether. However, let me go back to what I want to say. I should really stop digressing what I initally want to talk about because the digression generally turns into a reason about why I digressed and hence turned further into wel…

Ok, anyway, I asked Lupus, one of the co-bloggers in T.H.A.T blog about anime new year resolutions for 2007, considering how we are supposed to be doing anime blogging, and hence live a life that has anime involved somewhat. His answer, in an extremely solemn and serious tone no less, was stated below for your reference.

[Lupus-sol] wait put it in this order
[Lupus-sol] 1) Download more
[Lupus-sol] 2) Watch more
[Lupus-sol] 3) Read more
[Lupus-sol] 4) Blog more
[Lupus-sol] 5) Fap more

What powerful resolutions from a great man of the South (He is geographically located at the center now but who cares about geography!). However, for me, my resolutions are much simpler.

Impzie’s Special Anime New Year Resolutions for 2007

1. I will be less of a lolicon the coming year and I promise to watch less than 10 shows per season that have any lolis in them. Well, can I make it 15? Please? Fine, 10 shows every season.

2. I will write about more anime that goes under the radar, even though that means that I have to torture myself with ridiculous bishi stuff like Marginal Prince that drives me to the margin.

3. I hope that my blog will continue on its writing quality, which is to write as many posts as possible to literally suffocate my viewers to death by my horrendous writing.

4. I hope to have a blogging harem just like Yuuichi/Kyon. Of course, sad girls in snow will be a plus if I can find such a co-blogger.

5. I hope to get into Blogsuki’s permanent list soon, instead of being in the waiting list for a change.

6. I hope to see more loli-infused series as well as the wonderfully crafted and sophiscated Ichigo Mashimaro OVA. Of course, Today in class 5-2 is a must as well.

7. I will stop trying to criticize mecha series too severely. Instead of calling them “mecha series, ewwwwwwwwwwww, THEY SUCK!”, I will do my utmost best to state that they cause “utter destruction of the human spirit known as the mind” as a much kinder phrase.

8. In the same vein, I will try my very best not to bash series with totally crap graphics too hard. Generally, a comment such as “The graphics is worse than a three year old drawing with a strange case of Parkinson’s disease” is the most severe statement I will ever use. Hopefully.

9. I wish to reduce the amount of anime viewing that I do every week so as to have more free time to do other stuff. Like…something.

10. I wish that more comedy and slice of life series involving cute girls will spawn out of their cells and explode into the anime world like explosive fireworks.

11. I hope that Naruto and Bleach will somehow turn for the better when they hit their real arcs in the manga. Of course, I am merely hoping because I hell will not watch it.

12. I wish that the sequels for Haruhi Suzumiya, Zero no Tsukaima, Ouran High, Rozen Maiden and Aria will mysteriously appear very soon.

13. I want to have more comments in my blog entries, hoping that more people will like what I write and do here.

14. I wish that I can have a faster Internet connection so that I can download my anime faster, watch it faster, and blog it faster.

15. I wish I can still be here next year at this time and do this resolution list for 2008.

Do you have any anime new year resolutions too?

My only “anime” related resolution is to actually get my original manga in print (finally).

    Otherwise, my wish is to get into less anime series and focus more time on finding a job ^^;

I guess mine will have to be stop lazying around and staring at pretty art with the excuse I’m trying to learn something… and draw some stuff myself!

Which is what I’m doing right now. D:

That and a lame “I want to loose 5 pounds so that I weight 100 pounds!”.

Oh oh. And create a cute green haired character of my own.

My resolution: watch less anime and just watch stuff I will really be into once in a while and not like every single week.

  14. Posted December 29, 2006 at 5:17 pm | Permalink

I don’t bother with resolutions anymore because they’re hard to keep. Anyway, all I can say from here is “Ganbatte”. May the anime and manga kami speed you. XD

    Let’s see, resolutions for 2007… hmmm… aahmmm… errm…. uh… i don’t have xDu not even one, i think.

But, like Hinano, I would like to find a job (or in the thoughts of some members of my family: “i SHOULD”, “i HAVE to”, i know what they’re thinking… i can see into their little minds~)

In any case, i’ll keep seeing as much anime as i can and/or as i want. It is possible for me, hohoho >w>~~

I shall support and cheer you for resolution #3 since I’m quite sure my favorite animes can ressurect me back to life if only to die by your so-called “horrendous” blogging/writing.

#14 is also in my list.

As for #4, I want to do that myself but with guys. I did hear you need a license to get a blogging harem though…I do wonder what the costs are. (lol)

Good luck with your resolutions. I just have one…

To be able to figure out what I will like without even needing the first episode…

Oh, also to catch up with backlog…

For 2007, I hope less great shows will come out, because my backlog is already so big and growing constantly. ;)
