I LOVE TSURUYA! Here is me doing a bit of advertising for the wonderful artists of Gekka, a group that was on the display of STAC 2006 doing some postcards for sale. Honestly, I found their art to be really top notch, especially from Karana where I love her style of Tsuruya that is very darn cute.
I was seriously pleasantly surprised at the quality of the drawing, considering that she has no idea who Tsuruya is (which I will forgive her sins for not knowing the best green-haired anime gal for now). It is amazing how she could capture the character of Tsuruya just by looking at a picture of her and I must say that the Tsuruya she drew was not only cute, but hell hot too. It is a really fruitful way to spend my money on these postcards, since they are definitely very well done by any case. In her own words, she said that she rushed it slightly as she assumed I needed it fast, hence it was a “half-ass effort”. If the drawing is a half-ass effort, I wonder what will come out if it’s a full effort. Impressive stuff.
Osaka is pretty amusing too. I must say that the depication of Chiyo and the rest of the gang at the background was a nice interesting twist. This is in fact drawn for my other friend who wants a picture of Osaka in a dreamy state and I think the feeling is just more dazed. Well, Osaka is always dazed though, so it’s all good, I guess.
Now, this is pretty cool Haruhi, with the nice aerosol paint with Kyon as the mascot. I think that she has done a pretty good job with this postcard. If you are situated in Singapore (not sure if they accept overseas commission), do leave Karana a message in her deviantart at Karana’s deviantart corner. You can then discuss with her and her other friends because they are always looking for a bit of extra cash while doing some beautiful coloring and drawing.

Those postcards are terribly awesome; I’m especially partial to the Tsuruya and Haruhi ones! As for the banners, I like the One Piece one a lot for some reason ..
ahahahaha~ the one piece banner is done by alkanphel and i am also amazed how the artist could draw so well. If you want an original picture that is needed to be done, just leave a message to her at her deviantart and see how it goes.
