What if Charlie Brown became an anime?

These pictures are somewhat old, maybe over a year or so but I thought that some people might still not have seen them so here they are! Some fanartist’s interpretation of how the Charlie Brown comic strip characters would look like if they were in an anime. Whether or not you approve of them, is a matter of personal taste.

I normally don’t like this kind of thing because I’m a traditionalist snob, but this really rocked! I loved the way it respected the original and still brought it into the anime style. I’d be all over this in a heartbeat.

The artist’s original gallery for these pictures seems to be here.

Peanuts and anime have been part of my life for a very long time and it is awesome to see two of my greatest loves merged like this – even if it’s not going to be an actual series. :) My favorite character design is Sally (Sally vs. Rerun – ROTFL).

By the way, has anyone ever watched any of the Japanese dubs of the American Peanuts animated specials? The voices for the girls are really cute but the boys sound much older than they’re supposed to. Still, it’s cool hearing Sally say “Hai, sensei” or referring to Charlie Brown as “niichan.”

That is amazing! Someone needs to run with that, it’d be a hit! And that person would have lots of fans, that’s for sure!
