Erm, hi! I’m a new member here and just call me Reverse Vampire. I started writing about 1 day ago (Uh oh! O.O) and perhaps the youngest member in the blog. It’s the holidays and I have absolutely have nothing to do and all I can do is to write stuff. But sometimes I’m on like hiatus and stuff because of school life and other things that are private. I started on some other blogs in other websites but sometimes I left it there unfinished for about, months?
Anyway, I’m an anime lover (But not to a level to become an otaku) and the anime I am currently watching are Gundam 00 (Got to love Crusader’s posts for it, makes me wanna laugh), Shugo Chara, Rental Magica, D.Gray Man (Sob! Allen…), Kamichama Karin (Currently on hiatus, the subs for episode 18 and more are not out yet) and that’s about it. For manga, it should be Kingdom Hearts (Yay!), Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, Vampire Knight (I’m going to talk about it later) and D.Gray Man (Here, again).
My first post is going to talk about the latest chapter of Vampire Knight, which is already 32. But I’m pretty disappointed about it, as it is one of the (probably) worst chapter I’ve ever read. So any of you out there is a Vampire Knight fan, please if you want to kill me then go ahead. And plus I’m not a Kaname X Yuki fan but if you people are a Zero X Yuki fan and you have a fan site, please inform me in e-mail.
Chapter 32 talks about Yuki going into the Night Dorm to ask her pure-blood vampire friend Kaname Kuran on what happened that night at the snowy mountains 10 years ago prior to the story of Vampire Knight and I suggest you read chapter 1 of it to get what’s happening. But I will not try to spoil the fun and I will get on to what I’m going to say about the chapter.
That’s right, Yuki’s not a small kid anymore.
There’s some tension between Zero and Ichiru, like as if they are avoiding each other, which is kind of childish as if they’re playing hide and seek. Yuki has become more courageous to go into the Night Dorm (No Day students are supposed to come into the Night Dorm, and it also applies to the Guardians, or the student prefects in the case of Yuki and Zero and the same things applies to the Night students, who are all vampires) to look for answers on what happened on the night 10 years ago. Yuki does not remember what happened to her before she turned 5/6 and blah-blah-blah, whateer may come out of my mouth. And BTW people, I’m no Kaname fan.

Also, it took one whole chapter to beg Kaname the vampire to tell dear Guardian Yuki on what happened 10 years ago and with conditions, which I found it as if Kaname the vampire wants to blackmail Guardian Yuki to tell the truth, and the price is if Guardian Yuki could be his lover forever, or not even though if the truth hurts or Kaname the vampire is going to betray Guardian Yuki. And Dhampir Zero is just going to stand out of the way of Guardian Yuki and Kaname the vampire to hear them talk like angsty teen/adult lovers. And to tell everyone the truth, Dhampir Zero is going to stand there like a log for the rest of the chapter. I really wish at the later chapters there is a relationship between Yuki and Zero, because I hate Yuki X Kaname, it just…doesn’t seem right. But if there is Yuki X Kaname, and they gave birth to a monster or some kind of alien vampire or a dhampir to be exact? But let these things go their way.
What I don’t like about this chapter is that (Not trying to badmouth the story, I love/like this manga series but it’s the only chapter I found it disappointing) is that it’s kinda draggy, taking one chapter to get Kaname the vampire to say the truth to Guardian Yuki. It’s making some of us think they’re playing ‘Truth or Dare’ and what Kaname the vampire is going to dare Guardian Yuki is to climb up a 14th floor building and calling her to shout out loud to the rest of the world that she loves Kaname the vampire till she or the vampire dies and does not care even if the vampire is betraying or backstabbing her behind her back or Guardian Yuki is going to use her Artemis to beat up Kaname the vampire till he says the truth. And Kaname the vampire, it does not mean you lost your dear parents you get to tell Yuki about she’s going to end up like you if she knows the truth.
I hope you don’t play goosebumps at the couple, Zero
Reality is power, Kaname the vampire. No ones wants to sleep in an eternal nice or sweet dream for the rest of their lives even the truth will hurt or will drive them berserk. I’ll rather go to the cinemas and watch a teen angst movie than looking at Guardian Yuki and Kaname the vampire to watch the both of them hurting each other till they die. If I am the one suffering from amnesia, I would go look for what I’ve forgotten and look at anime with characters who suffer from amnesia like Kirika from Noir, Margaret from Madlax, Ellis from El Cazador (Somehow, but I don’t think she wants to find out but there’s nothing much for her to remember), Haruka from Rumbling Hearts. And speaking of Haruka it really hurts if you’re 3 years behind from what happened to you after a car accident.
We’re not zombies, Kaname the vampire and we humans have brains too. It does not mean with good looks, brains and you’re a vampire, you can tell a human that you vampires are always right. It’s not fair and you look as if you want to start another human VS vampires war even if you said it.
So if anyone wants to beat me up, go ahead. I’m open to criticism and I’ll be back for more.

One can only hope Zero will pull out his Bloody Rose and shoot Kaname for being the little scheming bastard that he is. Honestly, he didn’t give Zero blood to keep Yuuki safe. He did it because he knew that it would restrain Zero’s actions, including the expressing of his personal opinion.
And, of course, there’s Yuuki, who somehow manages to ignore the ‘attempted to kiss her’ part. Sure, she got lost on the road of life and dear Kaname exterminated the big bad vampire that threatened to swallow her whole, but, really.

I disagree. True the chapter was rather disappointing, but ZeroXYuki doesn’t work too well either. I mean we’re pretty much just counting down the days til Zero goes mad as it is. He already drinks way too much of Yuki’s blood. And he had to drink Kaname’s blood in an effort to remain sane. Doesn’t that mean he can’t go against Kaname now? I rather think Kaname has been rather patien with Yuki, and he’s getting tired of that and is being overbearing now. That did annoy me. She has a right to know what happened 10 years ago, it’s her past. But if it’s involved with the entirely-too-complex (I can’t understand it) vampire hierarchy Kaname probably has his reasons for being reticent. I’m more curios to learn about his and yuki’s past than worry about the pairing. I just hope that this doesn’t delay that revelation.

Linya, I think it does mean that Kaname can really control Zero now to some extent. But Zero is very strong willed when it comes to Yuuki as we’ve already seen when Shizuka tried to control him. He was able to break free in his determination to stop her from hurting Yuuki.
And I agree I think she has a right to know what happened without having to give something in return for the information.
I sort of don’t understand his logic either. He wants her to say she’ll be with him before he tells her, so that will prove she can’t hate him?
But wouldn’t forcing someone into something just so that they can get back lost memories, run the risk of them hating you for that?
I dunno its a weird way of getting what he wants.
And I really don’t like the way he’s rubbing it in Zero’s face almost. Knowing that Zero won’t say anything that might reveal his own feelings in front of Yuuki. (Although I have to say almost kissing her twice was probably a big indicator of how he felt. Then again as we’ve already found out with Yuuki, unless you tell her point blank, she’s pretty clueless about that kind of thing.)
Kaname sure does play dirty sometimes. I guess that’s why I prefer Zero over him. Zero doesn’t play games with Yuuki, and although it does seem like Kaname has his reasons (even though we aren’t privy to them) a lot of the time it seems like he’s playing with her.
But then again I do get the impression that he does truly love her.
It would have been nice if Zero returned to normal once his sire was killed. ^-^
Like you said Linya, in regards to Yuuki and Kaname, I really do want to find out more about their past together. Obviously there is something very important concerning Yuuki. But I wonder is she just important to Kaname or does her character serve some major importance in the vampire world?
Ah well hopefully we’ll start to get some answers in regards to that soon.

yes, i do agree that this chapter was draggy and Zero was suddenly very understanding-it makes me wanna smack him but I don’t see Kaname under that light (yeah, I think he’s ok coz he saved Zero)and I see his reasoning-Here is the most powerful pure blood vampire and the only person he has ever treasured is going out from his reach-surely he will retaliate-such is the power of love
though I do question the mind of a man who would fall in love with a child you have taken care of (isn’t that incest or something? that’s y I hate Mai Otome)^^; or is he a lolicon?? xxxDDDD

Methinks you need to take more english classes. Your post is very unorganized, and you have many sentences full of words that do not need to be there.

but can you please refrain from using “Kaname the vampire” and “Guardian Yuki” ? Once or twice is alright, but using it every single time, it starts to get annoying, confusing and simply, it’s unnecessary. It’s like your trying to re-establish the fact that Kaname is a Vampire, and Yuki is the Guardian, over and over again.
Maybe you should try using organizing your post, by first describing what the chapter was about, THEN putting your thoughts/impressions afterwards. It’d make it much easier to read, and it’d also be much neater too. ^^;

yeah, this recent chapter of VK is not so good, my symphaty goes to zero this time that he cannot do anything to prevent things that kaname has instigated to make his move on yuuki . . . and this also sort of support my gut feeling that kaname has an ulterior motive in saving yuuki, no it’s not about that “feelings” thing of his to yuuki but a much more sinister motive that’s why he cannot tell her the truth of what happened years ago
Yay for this post! So I’m not the only Kaname-hater around (to be precise, I think Kaname is a sadistic, two-faced paedophile). Frankly I find that the characterisation for all three characters has regressed. Yuki was originally a rather gutsy heroine but now she’s turned into some sort of helpless female ideal who gets manipulated, whilst Zero’s turning from an interesting block of wood to a less interesting block of wood.
As for chapter 32, I think that whole bit of “Isn’t it better to happily live in a dream” seems to me like Kaname is an advocate of brains-in-vats. Such an extremely cheesy line from a supposedly cool vampire had me cringing. If there’s one thing that successfully keeps VK alive, it has to be Matsuri Hino’s art. Imho, this particular vampire romance just doesn’t do enough justice to the bloodsuckers. (Then again, when I think vampires, I think of Abel Nightroad or Vampire Hunter D.)

Zero has definitely been less active these past few chapters, which is saddening, considering he is my favorite male lead. Kaname on the other hand, is starting to downgrade in my like-ness level x__x”…it’s like he’s stringing Yuki along… And the fact that he’s using the incident to ‘manipulate’ Yuki.

I agree with you that Zero’s out of the picture for the recent chapters and I am starting to hate Kaname too. Yuki’s acting different too and I hope that the next chapter will not be very disappointing either.

As for Vampire Knight.
I hope Yuuki gets back to her usual self soon too. And when she does she can smack Zero upside the head and tell him to snap out of it.
I think you guys are wrong about Kaname. He truly loves Yuki and if you paid attention to what has been going on in the manga then you would notice how most of the actions Kaname takes/makes are for Yuki. There are hints through out the story. For example, he kills a pure blood vampire and is now damned for it (knowing that it is a big sin) in order to protect Yuki. It is not clear what he is protecting her from but there were a number of hints given that states that he does it to somehow help her. Also unlike Zero, Kaname never brings himself to drink her blood. He knows her blood is sweet, does want to taste it, had opportunities to taste it but has controlled himself because he loves her. Zero on the other hands, mops around a bit in regards to drinking her blood and yet still does it. Also can’t give specific examples but there are quite a number of factors that show that the person Kaname loves and cares above all and everything is Yuki. I think that Yuki has a big part to play in what is going on in the vampire world and Kaname believes that by keeping her in the dark he is keeping her safe. Also many of you Kaname bachers should keep in mind that Zero would be dead if Kaname wishes it but leaves him alive because he knows it will hurt Yuki therefor, let’s Zero live. I believe that Kaname deserves to be with Yuki because he truly loves her and has been selfless when it comes to her.

Kaname rocks!!He has a really nice personality..As for Zero, I hate him..The first time I saw him(eventhough I haven/t read the manga yet) my blood boiled furiously.An instictive reaction..Dislike that turned into hatred when I started reading the manga..urrg..Zero is the first sharacter that I saw in the manga and I started to loathe him even then..

I really hate Kaname. I don’t trust his possessive character at all! I haven’t liked him ever!! He’s a possessive obsessed guy who’s so scheming and scary it hurts. Whenever he talks sweet to Yuki it seems so SO fake to me! I wouldn’t be surprised if he turned out to be the bad guy.
