Size does matter to robots

Look at the picture below, picture gotten from Sheng Tai Toys Website:

Gundam 00 Fat

It seems that the bigger/fatter the Gundam, the higher the price. Freakin’ hell that Virtue cost about S$15 (Singapore dollar, BTW). Hell that size does matter when it comes to toys, hehe~
Exia cost about S$12, Kyrios and Dynames cost about S$14 (What? Are they twin mecha or what?). Virtue is only available in December 2007 to Singaporeans who wants to buy them. The other models are now available.

The bigger the Gundam the more plastic needs to be used to produce that product. More materials = higher cost of production and because of that producers charge a higher price.

Charging different prices for differentiated products is a common practice called ‘price discrimination’ because it relies on the theory that consumers attach a differing value to products so the Gundams are priced differently.

It follows the assumption that the number of people who want to purchase the different Gundams (and their different prices) is sufficient enough for them to at least achieve some form of economic profit in the short run.

If I were you I would work on making my posts clearer. I had a hard time deciphering your commentary.

    OMFG.
    IT MAKES SENSE!?

So, other than the fact that they are out now, I’m not sure why you were talking about the price. It makes sense, ja?

Anonymous bashing and wikipedia spamming aside, Vampire was typing with a casual, “chatroom” persona.

“… with a casual, “chatroom” persona.”

Why is why a post of such irrelevance belongs to one, not as a posting on a blog.

What was previously posted is not from Wikipedia. All I was doing was to explain the fundamental basics for pricing schemes to Reverse Vampire, none of which I have ‘picked off’ from Wikipedia. Its knowledge from a subject studied full-time called ‘Economics’.

@ Everyone who comment to the post: I’m a student and I do not know much about economics, so pardon me for mistakes. I’m going to take Accounts next year in my school.

No, do not apologise. You did not make any mistakes. All you did was comment on the pricing scheme and explainations were given.

I take it you are in Year 8 now in Singapore seeing as Accounts is only for Years 9 and above. Accounts at Year 9 is not economics however. Do not expect to learn the fundamentals of economics until Year 11.

This is not price discrimination. Price discrimination refer to charging different price on the SAME product (e.g., movie tickets has student price, adult price, and senior price for the same movie).

The price could simply be reflecting the difference in production cost or the anticipated demand for the product.
