The true nature of a pureblood. And I’ve came up with many reasons why I hate him soooo much.
Warning, if you are a Kaname fan, either skip this post I’m going to write now or read it and start flamming on my post. I just don’t want people to get hurt just by seeing this post on me hating Kaname Kuran. PLEASE, for your own safety (And health, perhaps), do not read this post if you are a Kaname fan.
ARG! In my point of view after reading chapter 34 of Vampire Knight, I would want to buy a Kaname Kuran human dummy (Okay, maybe shops do not sell a Kaname dummy, but just a dummy will do and I will paste his face at the dummy’s) , bring it home and use a baseball bat to kick the pureblood’s ass!
I’ve came up with a lot of reasons why I hate this pureblood more than anyone else in Vampire Knight. So far are:
1. He thinks so highly of himself and went destroying buildings, flowers, things, paintings, walls etc. Erm, Kaname. I think that if you keep on doing this to Cross Academy property, poor Kaien is going to be so broke that he can’t afford to pay all the damage you’ve done. And by the time Kaname knows what he’s done Cross Academy is no more. Yuki will leave him for eternity, Kaien will disappear and Zero will perhaps kill him without any hestitation.
2. He’s controlling an army of mindless noble and ordinary vampires. Think of it; all the students in the Night Class and the people of the Council are being mind controlled by Kaname. 
. And those vampires do not have a mind of their own to know to differenciate what’s right and wrong. (RV is trying to ask Aido and Kain if sucking blood in school bounds is right.)
3. He killed so many people (Shizuka Hio and his uncle, but his uncle managed to survive by transferring his soul to many people like Shiki and the kid we saw earlier in early chapters.) and telling them that it’s all for Yuki or peace between humans and vampires. What rubbish is that as I knew what his motives are just by looking into his eyes. BTW people, my eyes don’t lie when judging things. (I think).
4. He manages to get away with anything he has done wrong because he is a pureblood. I think it’s just crappy to get away with anything, even killing just because he is the ‘king’ of the vampire soceity, talking about fairness. It’s Kaname being spoilt (eg. sitting under a tree with cushions and snacks at the side of where he’s sitting. He deserves to get his butt spank and go to 1 year of boot camp to learn about the meaning of discipline.
By the look of his face, he’s going to kill me anytime now…
5. Violence is not always the answer to solve a problem, Kaname. But you’ve ruin it by doing all sorts of taboo and hurting people who get in your way. Geez, did your parents teach you that violence is never the answer (Before they die)? I’m not blaming your parents Kaname, but if they taught you how could you forget?
6. He doesn’t do anything to show pacifism between humans and vampires. His eyes are telling me that he wants to start another human-vampire war. All talk and no action. Keep promises but didn’t done it. He’s blackmailing Yuki all right to fall in love with him no matter what happens, even if he betrays Yuki. I’ve seen you giving some of your blood to Zero to slow down the process of turning Zero into a Level E vampire but RV thinks that you have a motive doing that.
7. Lastly, my army of reverse vampires (Not me, reverse vampires are vampires who turned vampires into humans instead of the other way round, going out of the norm. No, not dhampirs. Reverse vampires.) can do better than Kaname Kuran in believing in peace between humans and vampires. Vampires are not immortal, not gods, they’re only just….vampires who have magical powers. So don’t think so highly of yourself, Kaname.
And maybe that’s about it. If anyone of you like me is a hater of Kaname, create a fan club and then get people who hate him too to join the club. If anyone has it, you can maybe ask me to join the club too and we will share the pain of looking at Kaname. And if anyone of you have a Zero fan base, please allow me to join too, and I’ll be happy to do anything.
That’s why, Kaname is out, and why Zero is in. (Throws a tomato at him.) Not trying to be anti-vampire here, people.

Kaname is rather selfish, in my opinion. In the first few chapters, I could see him as someone who was fairly tolerant and lead by example, but now… he just seems very selfish in regards to Yuuki. Arrogant, selfish, and manipulative. Not exactly the most admirable character.
I never liked him either, even when I had a slightly better opinion of him. Go Zero. I always did like Zero.

where do i sing, i hate the character, matsuri is definely ruining the manga for me, if the next chapter is like the later one, i will quit the manga and burn the ones that i have fron her lol, seriusly -_-, well the fact is, that she is not a ground breaking story teller, her past works are quite averange, with the excepcion of her drawings which for a shoujo mangaka are very above averange. kaname character is so irritaring, he is like the every tipycal shoujo manga lead -.@(aka the cool, distand,i can treat you like a amarionette, don’t forgett femenine type ), maybe i just bias i tend to like underdogs, and more of a masculine leads lol.
While I do agree with most of your points (and am often eager to blow Kaname’s head off), I don’t really hate the guy. Sure, he is manipulative, egotistical and overly possessive towards Yuki, but he saved her. He also gave blood to Zero, even if I personally believe the action was more part of a plan, than an impulsive thought because of being concerned about Yuki.
Now, he may be in charge of the Night Class, however it seems like the members choose to follow him for personal reasons. He is naturally superior because of his pureblood status, and yet he does not really abuse his authority that much.
These reasons might not be enough to make me like his character, but they are enough to make me think he is a somewhat necessary evil.

From what I’ve read of Vampire Knight, I agree. Zero >>>>>>> Kaname.
I have to say I was kinda disappointed with Vampire Knight after all the hype I heard. It’s average stuff, and I’m not liking where the story is going. The art is pretty . . . . and that’s about it. If I’m going to read a vampire manga, I’ll take Hellsing any day of the week.
And if I want pretty artwork, I’ll read Kaori Yuuki.

Darn Haven’t read the latest chapters so I don’t know Kaname’s character development- but based on so far still love Kaname just because I know he won’t end up with Yuki XD

All Vampire Knight characters are idiots except for the Principal. Its an annoying story.
I used to hate him, now I just dislike him.
Some reasons are mentioned, but my high priority one is him with Yuuki = NO.
And him being all mysterious, gaah can’t he tell her the truth??
I loved the fact Ichijou defended Shiki’s body in that chapter.

Kaname is so cold and calculating. He’s so stuck up and just doesn’t care what he does, as long as he achieves whatever he wants. HE treats people like they’re real chesspieces on a gameboard. It’s all an effin game to him! I want to strangle him so badly!
How could he be so cruel to Zero?! Doesn’t he realize that he doesn’t deserve Yuki like Zero does? I mean, Zero truly loves Yuki. He was the one that stood by her all this time. Even Yuki truly loves Zero, but just doesn’t realize it. How could saying nothing but “yes” to Kaname be love? If Kaname were truly smart, he’d leave those two lovebirds alone. I bet Kaname doesn’t even love Yuki. Psh!
The first time I saw Kaname, I already hated him. I knew there was an evil ruthless demon behind that pretty face. In truth, he’s no better than his uncle Rido. I swear, if the author makes a bad twist of fate wherein Yuki ends up with Kaname, I will SCREAM in rage and TEAR all that manga apart.
I hate kaname too!!! Zero all the way!!! If in the end he doesn’t get together with yuki, i’m going to have to run a protest rally….(and throw away all the VK manga)

Kaname helped Yuuki and Zero any times and I think he is much more “interesting” than Zero-kun. Its just my opinion. By the way, I want Zero get together with Yuuki XD, they have a cute relationship.

Ugh. As a huge Zero fan, and a shipper of Zeruki…I find this post absolutely worthless. It really disappoints me when I find someone with a string of reasons for hating a character or person…that are not even valid. Let me go through and take the opposing side of you in here…because it is just too easy.

The environment around a pureblood is affected by their mood and emotions. This is demonstrated by Yuuki in chapter 36. It is not something they are always able to control, and I think it takes a great measure of control…having the ability to calm yourself. For instance, most occasions in which Kaname ‘ruined’ something…it was because he was worried for Yuuki, or anxious about the upcoming threat of Rido. LOL. Kaien is hardly going to go broke. Kurosu Academy is an elite school. He definitely has the funds to take care of things, and BEYOND that….it isn’t as though Zero has not destroyed property as well. Kaname is not the only one…and as a pureblood of high rank….I think Kaname has the funds to repair something like that himself.

Uh…HOW MANY times has the story made a point to make clear that Kaname does NOT want this? The vampires at Kurosu Academy adore and love Kaname because he does not use his power as a pureblood against them. They all decided to attend…of their own free will, because they admire and respect them. When Kaname has wanted something done…he has asked the night class. Not ONCE has he forced them to do anything using his powers. If he had…a day class student would not have been bitten by a night class student, Aidou would have stopped searching for Kaname’s hidden past…and so forth. Even in the last chapter Kain made it clear to Kaname. “We don’t just follow you because you are a pureblood”. They like following him. Please get your facts straight, before making an illegitimate statement. I nearly died reading the army statement.

…. Zero is a VAMPIRE HUNTER. He was a Vampire Hunter before becoming a vampire, and has killed. His master has killed…hell, Kaien has killed. Takuma’s killed….Shiki has, undoubtedly, killed before if he was sent out to hunt Level E’s. Guess what…they all do and did that in the name of peace. Furthermore, Shizuka said herself that she planned to KILL Yuuki if Kaname did not kill her first. Not to mention that Rido killed Haruka, and planned to hurt/kill Yuuki as well.
If you can be this blind-sighted because you are so wrapped up in adoring your favorite character….your eyes need a serious check-up.

Kaname, and purebloods do not just get away with anything. It took A LOT of time and effort for him to set things up at Kurosu Academy. If he COULD just get his way…it wouldn’t have taken long at all. He’s always been under watchful eyes, and has several restrictions. Don’t just assume that things have been ‘easy’ on him.

Before you make a point, try giving examples. Aidou deserved the slap he got, and the second slap he recieved was in order to spare Aidou from Takuma’s grandfather. It was a measure of protection. In vampire society, things are different (obviously) from that of what it is like for humans. Furthermore…you can’t just accuse Kaname of violence. Zero SHOT AT Aidou the very first chapter….flipped Kain onto the ground later on, and is certainly not afraid to fight. Yuuki herself. I can’t count the number of times she has punched, kicked, or pulled Zero’s hair. Yuuki btw, has “hit” someone…more than the number of times Kaname has in the series.

Oh gawd. Kaname told the council himself, “I am my parents child. I am the same”. The last thing Kaname wants to do is start a war between vampires and humans. What proof…? Because your eyes say so? They’ve been wrong on all your above points, so I’m not really inclined to believe that. Everything he has done at Kurosu Academy has certainly protected humans (even if several of his actions have simply been to indirectly protect Yuuki). He’s done nothing that would suggest war on humans, and something like that would be his downfall. About the only thing you have right in that sentence….was his interaction with Yuuki. Kaname IS emotionally blackmailing Yuuki. He’s afraid of being alone (that is the only reason he has done that…along with wanting to protect her). I don’t think it is right to emotionally do that to a person…but it is a very human thing to do.

Uh……huh? I’m not sure I really understand your point in there, beyond saying “I don’t like Kaname! Nyaa!!”
Please please PLEASE, check your facts before posting something like this. It not only makes you look less than intelligent (when you actually have an AWESOME favorite character), but it doesn’t do the fandom justice. I almost didn’t respond….because I found the whole thing too ridiculous. You don’t have _one_ valid point inside of here, beyond saying that he is emotionally manipulative. Seriously…before trying to convince someone that a character is less than noble…do your homework.

2. He’s a character. It’s fiction. He’s not real. Writers create characters with different personalities to make the story entertaining.
3. If you don’t like it/him/or you are deranged enough to think people care about your opinion, then stop reading it.

5. Stop wasting air, space and MB storage on your vendetta against fiction.
There are a lot of other things that can be said about your invalid points, but spending anymore time on someone as dim-witted as yourself, would mean that I’ve wasted one more second of my life as a rational individual.
P.S. Make your own club. I’m sure with the abundance of logic you posted above, you’ll gets lots of people who want to put a stop to Dumbo, Britney Spears Bobble Head Dolls, and your clear distaste of invented characters.

I would just like to say that hating Kaname is your opinion and by reading it my feelings remained intact. Let me point out to you of the obvious fact that Kaname Kuran is a vampire. If you don’t know what that means, let me spell it out for you. As a higher being (which you can’t deny that he is, at least genetically) he has the freedom and ability to do whatever he pleases. He is noble because he doesn’t abuse his power. He may seem arrogant but let me ask you something: if everyone would bow at your feet and kiss up to you if you told them to, wouldn’t you feel proud of yourself? If you say no, you’re a liar because as far as human nature goes we would all love to be in a position of higher authority and wealth. Any of us would grab at the first chance of that. For a conclusion, I would just like to say that I can’t believe you wasted your time on this when you can’t even make a valid point worth listening to. I feel sorry for you.
Well in my opinion, kaname friggin’ rocks!! He is sweet, considerate,charming,mysterious..sexy! He can bite me anyday! Sure he is a bit egotistic but thats what you get from any leader of the pack..Zero is a cliche emo kid who really needs to set his priorities straight & cheer up! I dont hate Zero but he certaintly does bug the crap outta me. I dont think the Yuuki/Zero relationship will work out, i mean it sure does not sound like “true love” .. It seems to me like kaname had a better chance with yuuki ,before he awaken her. If read between the lines seem like she cant get over the fact that she had a crush on her bother. I would rather see her with zero . I mean doing her awakening when she was screaming he covered the girl mouth. At least when zero bit her ,he was given permission.

I don’t hate Kaname…I just don’t find his character very intruiging or interesting. In other words, he kinda bores me.
Zero, on the other hand is too emo and angsty….and though he is often caught up in his own internal drama…I like him slightly better than Kaname.
I feel as if Kaname is trying to become the ulitame vampire because he kills the other woman pure blood (the one who killed zeros family) to gain power. and this could possibly be why Yuuki is so important to him because she has the last power.
It could also be possible that they are brother and sister, therefore Yuuki is a pure blood that is why he wants her blood to gain another power as well as if Yuuki is a pure blood all zero has to do is drink her blood and vola he wont fall to levl E.

Wow, i agree with some of your points. kaname is ok i guess (hes pretty hot!) but he’s just got that feeling about him that i dislike. in the almost recent manga i have been getting depressed because they’re all moving apart. zero and yuki were so close, although zero was secretive. now kaname has taken her, turned her into a vampire and zero is sad because yuki is no longer with him. and kaname, yes he wants nothing more to keep her safe, but only in his arms, with HIM. where as zero just wants yuki to be safe, whether he lives or dies. zero… emo? it just occured to me then. rhats not how i see him. i see him as someone who is in pain and tries so hard not to harm people as becoming a monster. kaname may do things no other vampire is kind enough to do, but really in more recent manga it is because he wants it for his own benefits. i dont HATE kaname but i dislike the character, and love and want to hug and keep happy for zero. oh yeah, kittendreamz, and all the ones who opposed this, i dont think the post was that serious, just a way 2 xpress a dislike for a character, wanting to get support and opinions from others so they’re not alone on this thought. oh yeh, zeroxyuki is awesome and i will be VERY upset if kaname is with yuki.. its to predictable and unfair for zero who tries so hard and deserves her. yuki can also get kinda annoying, especially her love for kaname not zero (but then again zero hasn’t shown much affection and kaname did save her life… oh well) If the yukixkaname things ends, then i will get so sad i will make my own ending manga (i am an in-training manga-ka who is very unlikely 2 become 1 even though its my dream) and kaname dies (i dont hate him that much but in my manga i kill off a character i adore; it’s just the way it works) and yuki and zero will b together! happy happy happy! if it ends up bad and u want a copy of my re-made Vampire knight ending, send me ur email and i will send u it. I’m trying really, really, really, hard to like Kuran. But he’s just too manipulating and selfish. I don’t think I hate him as much as I did when I first started reading but I certainly don’t like him either. I think that Yuki is also begining to realize that Kaname isn’t all she thought he was. He can be really cruel…and he is very manipulative. I’m not just saying this because I don’t like him I’m only saying it as a reader.
I love Zero to death. He seriously needs a hug a two…or a thousand. He’s so sweet and broken I just love him. I know he has his faults but….I don’t care. He’s one of the characters that’s actually worth liking in this series.

Ummmm Nat? Or is it Retard? Anywho ZERO doesn’t hurt Yuki. Yuki hurts Zero. And so does Kaname. Read the manga. Yuki even says so herself that she’s been hurting Zero. He may suck her blood but Yuki offers-and practically forces-him to drink it. So before you start shooting off your mouth get your facts straight…and maybe actually start reading the manga–if you can.
Oh, and I’m sorry to say this but…Zero is a much more liked character than Kaname. Actually in Japan there aren’t that many Kaname lovers…or KanameXYuki lovers. =D
