Kimiaru Episode 10- Crap On A Stick

Yes it is.

I’m out of town on spring break, back home visiting my folks, so this entry will be short again. However, it’s not like this episode is worth much discussions anyways.

A whole episode of continued Yume drama! Yay! Oh wait, that seriously blows. As I mentioned last week I really don’t care for Yume’s character and this drama is really forced and unemotional. I ended up skipping chucks of this episode because it was pretty intolerable. And they just sort of threw in Natose’s past as a random afterthought in the middle of the episode. I mean it was sad and all, but it really couldn’t have an emotional impact with all of the other crap in this episode. Furthermore, it was just tossed in without much setup and follow through. Just goes to show how little they seem to care about Natose’s character. Instead they spend 3 episodes on Yume. However, at the end there was certainly one tidbit of info I picked up.

Hohoho, and the mystery of the Mihato route is revealed. For those of you unfamiliar with the eroge scene, in these games there is often a sister character that you can have sex with. The Japanese have this really crazy obsession with banging their sisters for some reason, but the makers of these games don’t want to be accused of incestuous material I suppose. So, they come up with convenient plot devices in which they aren’t really blood related, even though they have been living together forever and held out as siblings. Sometimes the main character knows at the start they aren’t related, sometimes he finds out later.

In this case here is the convenient plot device that allows the Mihato route one would guess (I have not played the game, my Japanese isn’t quite to that level yet). She’s probably adopted or whatever, but this dialogue suggests that her own parents died, meaning Ren and her are not actually related. While I don’t think that means we are headed for a Mihato route, it certainly is interesting because they could have just left that out of the anime if they weren’t planning on having a Mihato end.
