Agreed all anime databases say 12.

Not quite sure I see this character development you guys are mentioning...

Tayura and Akana...I can see but that was given a few minutes in the second to last episode. Chizuru and Kouta's thing started with promise but really ended with nothing. I was for some growth...like Chizuru learning it's not ALL about boobs (actually it is...) and Kouta accepting Chizuru regardless. He was surprisingly hesitant to...

The characters all still seem the same to me. Kanokon to me is nothing more than a good laugh and boobs. As Halcyon says...they could have explored so much more...but they didn't. Still enjoyed this though =).

@Webbmaster62

I dunno, I think 12 episodes is perfect for a show like this. I think we can look forward to some other ecchi shows as a replacement, like Sekirei next season.

@EvilDevil

Touche

@The Sojourner

An expression I tell myself constantly while watching this show.

@Blue

When it comes to this show it's impossible to think of the wrong things, it's almost always the worst (read perverted and demented) possible.

@Halcyon

They give development without relying too much on the silly melodrama that other shows of this type often rely on. It's refreshing to find a show that can do it so easily.

I wish my Japanese was better because I am actually pretty curious as to how the story pans out and I'd like to read the novels.

@Homina-homina

All official sources I've seen say 12.

What I really like about this show (aside from the FanService) is that the characters are really funny. Nozomu's deadpan reply to her "swimsuit" takes the cake.

The irony here is Chizuru getting upset about Nozomu's swimsuit when Chizuru has thrown herself at Kouta many, many times naked or nearly naked.

Unlike most ecchi shows, Kanokon excels with the development of its characters illustrated here by Tayura and Akane in episode 11 and Chizuru and Kouta in Episode 10. Sure, it's a lot of gratuitous T&A shots but the characters are more than that. They have a bit of heart and it's easy to sympathize with a lot of them (Ren & Ai, Tayura the poor work slave, and even Chizuru who wants nothing more than to have Kouta return her feelings).

I'll admit when I first started watching Kanokon I thought it would be another empty fanservice show. I'm glad to say that I was very mistaken. I've come to enjoy this series a lot and there are lots of interesting things about it (How did Kouta initiate the merge with Chizuru anyway? Why are there so many Yokai at the school? etc). I'm hoping this show has received enough attention to warrant a second season because I think there's more to the story and more left to tell about Kouta's relationship with Chizuru and Nozomu.
