Nogizaka Haruka, Episode 2- Only Took Two Episodes To Show Yaoi

Comment not required

This week Yuuto and Haruka go on a rabu rabu dayto to Akiba. There’s lots of blushing, cheesy romantic lines, big burly Russian men, and of course, gay porn. Her reaction wasn’t quite as amusing as Kagami reading about Gauron and Souske, but it was good enough for now.

Good dating practice, learn about her hobbies to feign interest later

It’s amazing how going somewhere with a hot girl will make you get over unpleasant memories. They started early with the cheesy “Sorry, did you wait long? No, I just got here” lines and I almost rolled my eyes all the way back into my forehead.

That’s not obvious at all…

Get yer yaoi here, get yer yaoi. Apparently, no show involving female otaku can be without a hot helping of gay porn. Help me out here people, is the percentage of female otaku who are into yaoi really that high? I really don’t get it because there seems to be a much smaller percentage of male otaku into yuri in comparison. I also really don’t get the appeal of mano-a-mano buttsechs, but that’s a hole separate discussion. Get it? Hur hur.

20 bucks says the guy who gave her the book is Yuuto. That’s just how it works in these shows~ Kind of reminded me of the scenes in Ninomiya-kun, as if showing people with blurred faces in a yellow-orangish color palette means it’s a fuzzy memory.

Big, burly Russian otaku? That’s some scary stuff right there. I wonder if Mamiko Noto’s accent when she speaks Russian sounds as bad to Russians as her English accent does to English speakers. Regardless, I still found myself laughing at the whole situation.

Yes, that will do nicely

Layin that cheese on reeeeeal thick, this show is just too adorable sometimes. Another fun episode this week, and you can always look forward to the most awesome ED this season at the end of each episode. It’s impossible to go wrong with dancing meido and implied yuri, it really is. I’m really looking forward to next week when Yuuto visits Haruka’s house, because the house is filled with meido. And one of said meido is voiced by Kana Ueda, yum.

    I wholeheartily agree!

    Ditto!!

    Usually I’d come up with a small paragraph or two dissecting the show’s good points while acknowledging what the show’s lacking, but really this show speaks for itself. You’d have to be inhuman not to enjoy the awful cuteness and schmaltzy warm feelings each episode brings.

    Mamiko speaking English? In this? /downloads

    Ichigo Mashimaro was the only other time I heard her speak a little bit, I think.

    @Halycon

    There really isn’t a way for me to launch into in-depth analysis of this either like I do for Code Geass. I just like to point out awesome or adorable stuff this show manages to fire out at us, heh~

    @Hinano

    Thought so ;)

    @Tenryu

    Impz hates otaku shows so I doubt he’s even watching this =/

    @Ilelangir

    No, but she has spoken English in other shows, she was speaking Russian here so I was trying to compare it.

    @A Day Without Me

    For a very small part, yes. She gets all embarrassed about it though.

    Interestingly enough, for such a cliched show, there IS one cliche that Nogizaka Haruka hasn’t even come near with a ten-foot pole yet; the tsundere. I mean, you’d expect Shiina to rag on Yuuto for “peeping” at her very-cliched panty flash, but she just takes Yuuto’s proffered hand and accepts his apology in under a second, then proceeds to give a very fangy smile LOL FANG-TAN style. If what Hinano-sama says is correct, Haruka’s loli sister is not tsundere, either.

    I wonder if the show will get around to the tsundere eventually, if at all.

    I think I need to point out that Noto Mamiko HAS played a Russian-speaking character before — she was the Russian skater in Ginban Kaleidescope opposite Kawasumi Ayako’s Tazusa. It’s been a while since I’ve watched Ginban, but I don’t think she ever talked in Japanese in that one.

    I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this show is ridiculously adorable. Glad you’re blogging this series.

    I also decided during that fuzzy memory flashback scene that the one who gave her the book was Yuuto. When you read/watch too much romance and/or shoujo, things like that become second nature.

    maybe I should watch this.

    what’s the title, btw? thanks.

    @Ascaloth

    I am a stauch tsundere supporter, it’s probably my favorite type of moe, but it’s also nice to watch series without them. I am fully capable of enjoying this show without a tsundere present, it may even make it better because it’s such an adorable show.

    @LDC

    Scream it out my friend, just scream it out: “So moe I died!”

    @Myssa Rei

    Haha, I have never heard of that show but it sounds so obscure that I’ll believe you =)

    @Extrange

    Get in line bud.

    @Yoko

    It’s not a particularly daring genre, but that’s ok.
