Code Geass R2, Episode 21- The Ragnarok Connection

One for the road Charlie, we loved you.

Wow, now I’ve seen some really great trolls on 4chan and the like but I’m not sure anyone has trolled me as much as Sunrise just did. This is seriously epic-level trolling of everyone who watches this show. That being said this episode had so much awesomeness and hilarity to it that I’m going to have to try really hard to seriously discuss the srs business parts of the show.

She was going to draw on his face, I think that pretty much explains a lot about Marianne’s personality when you consider what’s going on around everyone.

Kallen! I’m really not too sure what’s going to happen with her, she’s been relegated to a middling side character for most of this season. After she was captured in episode 10 she rarely appeared, and when she did it had little impact on the plot. This is kind of one of the problems of R2, important characters from season 1 seem much less important. At least she shows up hanging out with Lelouch in the preview for the next episode.

I take the Fifth

Hi mom! Been awhile!

Ahaha, as a man I love this quote, no matter how batty V.V. is. And as a student of history this has been true quite a few number of times. So the truth finally comes out, that V.V. got jealous of Marianne taking his little brother away so he brought out a machine gun and pumped her full of lead.

Poor Anya had nothing to do with any of this and was just unlucky to be in that spot. So Marianne decides to use her first victim to accomplish her goals with Charles. I suppose that means that from this point on Charles was hiding things from his brother, living constantly in lies of his own to get to the end. By the way, the explanation for her ability to talk with C.C. was a bit on the side of bullshit. Letting her consciousness surface? The hell does that have to do with her transferring your soul geass?

Well, they certainly aren’t going to win any “Parent of the Year” awards that’s for sure. In order to accomplish their goals they forcefully blinded Nunally and sent them both off to some other country as political hostages. I guess in their mind the anguish and hell their two children had to go through wasn’t sufficiently important to force them to accomplish their goals in some other way.

The most fucked up part here is that she was working with Charles all along, but unfortunately their plan was borked because they needed C.C.’s code. At this point it’s a bit hard to tell what’s going on with C.C., she seems to be in considerable torment with multiple forces and emotions pulling on her despite the fact that she claims to have thrown away her humanity.

Mmmmm, too easy.

It’s getting a little Eva in here folks, and I’m not really liking it. To be honest the competing philosophies here were both pretty much horseshit. I don’t watch this show for philosophy because frankly, the writers can’t deliver. So I generally laughed at what they were trying to say and came away with the fact that Charles and Marianne want the world of LCL Ragnarok goop where everyone is united together. On the other side Lelouch wants people to live like they are now, but a world based on equality of treatment rather than equality of minds…I think. So Shinji Lelouch rejects Instrumentality the Ragnarok Connection and says “hey, I think some patricide is in order.”

If there’s one gaping hole in their parenting skill argument it’s that. If they really wanted to protect their children, why did they send them off to a country they were about to invade? Don’t you think there’s a good chance they would die as a result of the invasion they already knew they had to do? I understand why Lelouch would be pissed at his parent’s reasoning, because he Nunally got royally fucked (pun intended).

So…he gets a super geass and uses it on all of mankind? Or Juptiter? I really don’t know what the hell is going on but it’s freaking awesome. This was the beginning of where I started laughing uncontrollably at the super levels of AWESOME and it didn’t stop until the episode was long over.

I love emo facial distortions of surprise.

Even C.C. rejected their plan, and sided with Lelouch. That also let her not disappear into nothingness, but she has always wanted to die so I don’t think it’s planned like that. She’s definitely a lot more meek now, even after getting her memories back, losing a lot of the flare and force of will that she had before. But it’s to be expected considering that she had just seen the folly of the goals she had worked for so long to achieve and abandoned them, along with an easy way to die.

He still clings desperately to Nunally as a basis for what he’s doing even as he is about to kill off his parents. Whether you buy that as an explanation or not, he’s clearly distraught over the crap they put him through as well as believing that the world they want is wrong.

Wow, way too awesome to handle, Charles is Superman.

Peace out mom and dad, have fun in hell

We’re meeeelllltttttiiiinnnnnggggg!

This episode has broken the record for emo facial distortions of surprise.

What is with the shit-eating grin? And Knight of Zero? Oh lordy at this point I nearly fell out of my freaking chair, no joke. And yeah, incoming OVER 9000 yaoi doujins of makeup mansechs. Suzaku and Lelouch were supposed to be enemies until the end, so while it was awesomely hilarious, it was ludicrous from a story standpoint.

Since these ladies have been judged to die, it made this scene all the more awesome. Basically with one geass Lelouch has just taken over Brittania by forcing all the royalty and nobles except for Schniezel and Cornelia to acknowledge him as emperor.

Which shit-eating grin will be victorious in the end? I can hazard a guess that it will be Lelouch, but we’ve got three more episodes to find out. Upcoming episode titles include “Schniezel’s Mask,” “Sky of Damocles,” and “Re:.” If you will remember, Damocles was referenced in episode 15 so it’s some sort of plan/weapon/supernatural business Schniezel has planned one would assume.

Despite how hilarious and AWESOME this episode was, I’m really kind of disappointed in the turn the series took. The entire buildup so far was for a final confrontation of Lelouch vs. Charles, and Schniezel was just an obstacle in their way or a possible spoiler. Now, the final boss is Schniezel and I’m just not digging it, it messes with the story continuity. Add that to the fact that Suzaku is now on Lelouch’s side and I’m just kind of meh about it. However, the episode from start to finish was supremely entertaining, whether that be in a bad sense or a good sense, it was entertaining.

Next Episode:

Low quality extended preview of episode 22.

I’m going to start with those uniforms, what the hell is that crap, white versions of the geass cult stuff? Lelouch’s emperor getup is retarded looking as well, what the hell is up with this show’s obsession with retarded hats. Remember the asshats of episode 12? Kallen finally gets to meet with Lelouch again, that should be good. Looks like we will get some fighting though, perhaps Suzaku vs. Bismark.

Crusader’s Angry Drunken Rant

So they did see Goatse(LinkNSFW and not safe for sanity, all ye who click abandon hope)

Wow that was an epic hit. Carriaging under the influence is dangerous…

Wow we made it to pedo heaven, but where’s Rolo?

Well there was a lot of talking this time about some sort of philosophical bull shit, can’t say I care much for it, since my God is better than theirs and can beat up their God which is a collection of puny emo humans. Well it turns out that Marianne and Charles did sort of care for their kids but Lulu being the weeaboo that he is rejected them and killed them in a fit of rage to steal the throne, for Nunnally of course. Well for all the bullshit that was used to build up Lulu’s bawwwwing over Suzaku’s betrayal, they are not only friends, but lovers too. I guess the first pairing was just too strong so the yaoi clique was able to get their fanfics into canon, given how Sunrise is made of cowards I can see why they caved into to make LuluxSuzaku more viable once more. All hail Britannia…?

I see who was the the Euphinator’s teacher…

What is this guro?

What, no teabag?

So the only thing that was of concern to me was that my hime, Cornelia-sama now has a functional left arm. I hope she uses it to grab Villetta’s hawt ass and carry Villetta to her chambers for some much needed yuri lurvin. I expect Kaguya to rage once she realizes that Zero dumped her for Suzaku. I thnkk Kaguya deserves it for still not having loli-raped Tian-zi.

Obligatory cry some more shot…

Damn it Lulu why are these two bitches still alive?

All Hail the Empress Lulu, he is indeed fabulous. And lo his lover Suzaku whose spin-fu can break steel!

Indeed amount of LuluxSuzaku disturbs me…

I am the waifu!

Shit…

Fuck…

Oh Joy! Cornelia-sama has use of her left hand again…time to massage both of Villetta’s melonpan to use a Claymore…

    *Ahem*, and now that that’s been taken care of, allow me to be the first to also say — WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really, I felt like screaming at someone. Aside from mentioning that I’m kind of shocked at how neatly Charles and Marianne got swept aside by Emperor Lulu, I don’t really have anything insightful to say. You guys can lock horns; I’ll just watch ^^ I guess gayass geass really does own everything in the end (*cough* Lulu X Zaku *cough*).

    If this series goes down the NGEhax toilet, I swear…

    Sunrise is the ultimate troll. I said that last episode the train has gone off the rails and this only further proves it.

    This is exactly how I felt after watching this show. I literally could not stop laughing.

    It’s getting a little Eva in here folks, and I’m not really liking it.

    I called it way back in Ep 15 or 16 and was resoundly rebuffed. I now laugh thanks to my vindication!

    Pretty much spot on analysis. I kind of figured they’d try to mindmeld the whole world ala Eva when the twists of human-bodied, shit-coloured DNA strands showed up in last week’s episode. Obvious foreshadowing is obvious.

    On the other side Lelouch wants people to live like they are now, but a world based on equality of treatment rather than equality of minds…I think. So Shinji Lelouch rejects Instrumentality the Ragnarok Connection and says “hey, I think some patricide is in order.”

    Basically, Charles is Gendo, Lelouch is Shinji, Anya is Rei and Suzaku is…Asuka?

    So…he gets a super geass and uses it on all of mankind? Or Juptiter? I really don’t know what the hell is going on but it’s freaking awesome. This was the beginning of where I started laughing uncontrollably at the super levels of AWESOME and it didn’t stop until the episode was long over.

    Pretty much the most loltastic episode of the entire season. Code Geass R2 has got to win an award for best anime comedy in 2008.

    Despite how hilarious and AWESOME this episode was, I’m really kind of disappointed in the turn the series took.

    See: My reaction to last week’s episode. I fully concur.

    I just find it retarded that they brought back Marianne from the dead in one episode and wind up killing her off again in the next episode. As important as she was as a central driving force for Lelouch during the last 45 episodes and as important Charles was as an “end boss”, the writers pretty much disposed of them rather quickly. The whole Anya/Marianne thing was a throwaway plot device. I was hoping she had a bigger role to play in the central story but now with Marianna dead/out of her body she’s back to being a background character. It was highly anti-climactic.

    However, the episode from start to finish was supremely entertaining, whether that be in a bad sense or a good sense, it was entertaining.

    I felt it was one of those “so bad, it’s good” type of episodes.

    They still don’t explain how Charles’ intended on “killing God” if the God they were talking about was just the consciousness of all Mankind. What was the purpose of the Sword of Akasha? To merge all human souls into 1? That doesn’t really kill God at all. They also don’t explain how Nunnally wound up crippled. Charles’ Geass can rewrite memories but they can’t sever nerve connections? Suzaku was also very UNsurprised at Lelouch’s mom being alive inside Anya. I guess by now he’s like “Shit, immortals, eye magic, nothing surprises me anymore”.

    I really enjoyed how the tables got turned on Schneizel. Lelouch goes from having nothing and being on the run, to having everything and Schneizel being the odd man out. I’m eager to see what next week’s lolepisode brings us.

    It is horrible….and yet I can’t look away!

    I have long since abandoned the overall storyline of Code Geass and wasn’t expecting anything grand or sensical at the end, but I didn’t expect this. It is almost as if the writing staff purposely went on a quest to make something so outlandish and terrible that by doing so they would discover a whole new meaning to the concept of awesomeness.

    Congratulations writers of Code Geass; you have ensured that I’ll watch the final episodes, because I no longer have any idea how this will all turn out. If you can do this, you can do it all. Go for it!

    My prediction: Code Geass and Gundam 00 all take place in the same universe. Lelouch renames his empire Union. Tianzi establishes the Human Reform League and Europa resurfaces as the AEU after they find out components of the Thought Elevator are begin used by the other powers to make Orbital Elevators.

    Today’s episode can be summarized in two words : FUCK YEAH !!!

    I have to say though that Marriane really had it coming : she said to C.C that she wasn’t a good mother and yet tried to convice Lulouch otherwise. As for the whole “keep them safe ” deal, what can I say ? Sending your kids as cast offs in a country you are planning to invade is just…,well I don’t even know WHAT it is….

    Also grinning Lelouch and Suzaku = win.They were all like : ” Dance ,bitches, DANCE!!! “

    You know I just ranted on my friend for about an hour about this episode, but I just kept laughing. For nearly all of the episodes so far I have been laughing at the dialogue, Lelouch’s gay movements, but in this episodes the writers, namely the “shit” have hit the fan so hard that the fan stopped.

    The crossing the legs might mean elegance… now all we need is the 4 finger pose and we’ve got ourselves a Lelouchia.

    I’m still smirking at the awesomeness of this episode.

    EDIT and why the fuck did it take an entire month… was that how much time is needed to make another special contact, or like were Lelouch and Suzaku trying to make mini Douchzakus…
    A month is too long… it leaves so many gaps in the like holey plot already, so now we have a trainwreck with no train.

    KNIGHT OF ZERO AND 99TH EMPEROR MAKES GAY BABIES

    Posted August 31, 2008 at 3:35 pm | Permalink

    So are the Knights of Rounds on Lelouch’s side? I suppose they have to serve the emperor, whomever he may be, but I bet they’re double agents for Schneizel, and Gino doesn’t look to happy about it. And where’s Anya and this Knight of Four wikipedia says we have?

    Overall, this episode was a bit on the metaphysical side for me (me likey Knightmare smashies, hehe). I loved the ending though, Lelouch shows up gives a great big “FUCK YOU BRITANNIA, I’m the emperor now, anyone who wants to argue with me can have their head crushed like a watermelon by my Knight of Zero, oh fuck it I’ll save him the work and geass you all into worshiping me, that is all” when he geassed them all I thought he was going to make them all kill themselves.

    I also liked how Odysseus dropped the little bomb of oh by the way NUNALLY’S STILL ALIVE! But Lelouch probably already knew that so it was probably only important for us, the viewers.

    I also wondered why it took a month for them to get their stuff together, were they back at Ashford, what was their excuse for that little field trip “Sorry professor, Suzaku and I wont be in class today, we have to go take over Britannia” -Lelouch.

    @ Jeph
    I don’t think Odysseus actually was talking about after the huge ass nuke killing nunnally and somehow she pulls a Kira Yamato and lives, he was talking about how they discovered her and made her the governor.
    Nunnally is dead… because it’s been a month

    If CC’s sacrificed her humanity why does she need to eat, and does she need to go to the bathroom at all? Her Pizzabutt might be the explanation though…
    BTW how do you make someone paralyzed and blind on purpose?
    and how the hell are Spinzaku’s legs made of like E-Carbon, so hard that Setsuna’s GN Blades cannot penetrate?

    And why did CC not take Cheese-kun with her into the depths of Charles ass, but Suzaku somehow took his sword.. I thought you couldn’t really use material possesions, pointing at shinkirou

    I was expecting more crow eating from Halcyon, whose analysis and ignorant bias of certain characters always led him to post the most ridiculously silly commentary on Code Geass episodes. I am not at all surprised that he finds this episode ridiculous and lolworthy. Trolled? The only people who feel trolled are those who expected Lelouch to be someone who actually believes in justice for all (and not just justice for themselves).

    Anyone who’s been paying any attention at all to Code Geass, particular the first season, should have realized that Lelouch was ultimately a “bad guy”, and that he would eventually wind up taking over the world through his demonic powers, and he’s finally done it. Now we get to see how Schneizel and the Black Knights try to take back the world and restore order, but somehow I have a feeling we won’t be seeing swimming lessons in this show.

    Also, Calawain, you shouldn’t believe crap you read on the internet. Taniguchi never said that Suzaku and Lelouch would never be together again. He said they wouldn’t be together again until the end, and well, this is the end. This is how he planned the series from the start. Then again, you often make mistakes in your Code Geass blog posts (like when you erroneously claimed Suzaku obliterated millions of Japanese, when in fact, he killed mostly Britannians, with freya), so I’m not surprised at that either. I bet you believed all of the Anya=Nunally or Nunally is fake rumors too.

    @Jeph, Nunnally is not alive. Odysseus was making a reference to when Nunnally was found alive shortly after Season 1.

    I was expecting more crow eating from Halcyon, whose analysis and ignorant bias of certain characters always led him to post the most ridiculously silly commentary on Code Geass episodes.

    I can’t tell if you’re trolling or not but LOL@this statement anyway. Considering Code Geass is a ridiculously silly show (See: Superman Charles for an example), I feel completely vindicated!!!

    Trolled? The only people who feel trolled are those who expected Lelouch to be someone who actually believes in justice for all (and not just justice for themselves).

    Or, you know, people who expected the show to be coherent and logical and adhere to the standards of storytelling and decent writing set in CG Season One.

    Anyone who’s been paying any attention at all to Code Geass, particular the first season, should have realized that Lelouch was ultimately a “bad guy”, and that he would eventually wind up taking over the world through his demonic powers, and he’s finally done it.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA. This is the cherry on top of the lolcake.

    Now we get to see how Schneizel and the Black Knights try to take back the world and restore order, but somehow I have a feeling we won’t be seeing swimming lessons in this show.

    I don’t know if you’ve heard or not but Happy End has been confirmed for Lelouch in some magazine articles posted on 2ch.

    This is how he planned the series from the start.

    HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH again.

    Then again, you often make mistakes in your Code Geass blog posts (like when you erroneously claimed Suzaku obliterated millions of Japanese, when in fact, he killed mostly Britannians, with freya),

    No official breakdown was listed as to how many Japanese casualties there were versus Britannian casualties. The 35 million people listed as casualties were total casualties, which could’ve meant Japanese and Britannian casualties.

    Even if he killed mostly (for the sake of argument, I’ll use 90% as a base) Britannians, there still would’ve been a few million (justifying the use of millions in the plural sense) Japanese casualties combined.

    @Maipeisu

    Don’t scream, just laugh.

    @Halcyon

    Well, you may have felt this way last episode, but I don’t think it really became massive trolling until this episode. I mean, the patricide and ascension to emperor just seals the deal for me. And there were hints of Eva-like stuff before, but this was pretty massive. It’s a bit different, but it borrows a lot, and I know Taniguchi has seen Eva :p

    Yeah, they brought up Marianne way to quickly and threw her away. I don’t think she should have been brought back from the dead, because she provided a solid foundation for Lelouch’s actions that made it easier to understand. Now it’s just wtf-ever.

    @Gideon

    Hence why it’s called a trainwreck! Everyone will be watching it because they just keep one-upping themselves.

    @Hyzen

    Crusader and I already have decided that Odysseus the Pedobear should reign over all mankind after geass.

    @Black Kat

    The fabulous leg cross at the end was made into an animated gif soon after the episode was released. So much fabulousness.

    And please, let’s not dwell on what they were doing for a month, it brings up unpleasant images.

    @Jeph

    We don’t know, the rounds will probably split and take sides between Lelouch and Schniezel.

    And as for how they made Nunally blind with just a memory altering geass? Dunno, but perhaps they actually made her medically mind or traumatized her mind so much. It’s not unheard of that massive trauma can cause things like blindness.

    @Asdfas

    Where did I ever drop Taniguchi’s name? I said that they should be enemies based on how the story has gone. With all that each has done to another and said to another it just seems impossible that they could simply forget and be friends again. I’m speaking from story continuity, not from Internet rumors.

    Nothing says more about how useless the Black Knights are than the fact that Lelouch with Suzaku IN THEIR SCHOOL UNIFORMS managed to take over Britannia in one month when he couldn’t even take Japan after two black rebellions with the Black Knights. The show stopped being logical since halfway through the season, so you trolls can stop pointing it out every single episode. We get it.

    Despite the lack of logic, this episode is damn AWESOME!!!! In one episode, Lelouch:

    1. Crushed his crazy parents
    2. Became emperor
    3. Regained his first friend, superman… I mean Suzaku

    And why do people keep insisting that Lelouch becoming emperor is evil? He set up a “United States of …” twice. Plus, Saint Suzaku is there to keep his madness in check. If anything, this series is heading straight for a happy ending. United States of Britannia anyone?

    @Eldar

    I totally agree. The Black Knights are the worst army ever in terms of discipline as well as training. Lelouch should have just done this to become emperor from the beginning.

  21. XXX
    Posted August 31, 2008 at 5:52 pm | Permalink

    Sure, the Emperor flying around like Superman and a few other overtly ridiculous bits of that sort made me laugh more than enough…but what I must say is that some of that BS is actually at least more interesting than one would think on the surface, and apparently someone else thinks so too…here’s a nice read (not mine, lest anyone get any ideas).

    http://www.j-isle.com/blog/2008/08/code-geass-r2-21-episode-season

    In other words, I don’t think philosophical BS is automatically a bad thing…not even in the hated-as-often-as-it-is-praised EVA.

    Other than that, the episode again crammed a little too much and left certain things unanswered, but I still don’t think it’s bad. In fact, I liked this so much, compared to 20, that I almost feel like debating again, along the lines of what I discussed with Halcyon the other day (the forbidden topic aside), just to break this particular uniformity of thought.

    But something tells me that will just upset people. So one more thing…ironically enough, I think Kallen’s going to get more development late in the game than she ever did in season one, after her family background episode was out of the way at least. Not necessarily in terms of direct plot importance but in terms of her relationship with Lelouch, even if it turns sour. That’s what R2 has built-up one way or another, in spite of everything else, so it figures that’s where something will end up happening.

    And finally, yes…Sunrise did “troll” the audience’s expectations, while also pandering to them in other ways, but I thought it worked for once, and the show’s not over yet.

    You can all worry about today’s headlines, I’ll walk home.

    So friggin’ awesome.

    That philosophical stuff was complete bull as usual, that’s pretty much a Sunrise trademark by now, but this episode was so much full of awesome it can only be described as epic.

    So where does that leave us for the next finale?
    Lulu and Suzaku are about to embarque on the grandest suicide in history. They obviously aren’t planning on surviving for long, just kill everyone evil and leave the lolis, Tianzi, Kaguya and Nunnally, should she have survived, in charge is their scheme would be my guess.
    That will be Schneizel’s mistake, he’ll think Lelouche will want to survive and control the world when he just wants lots of bad company on his way to hell.
    Neither Suzaku nor Lelouche have any will to live anymore, that is the reason for their creepy grins. They are just walking dead.

    It’s too bad for Kallen though. I would have loved to see her and Lelouche get together, but the only way that’s going to happen if Lelouche like C.C. seals his own Code/Geass. Which would be kinda funny in a way. To see an innocent Lelouche.

    I wonder though whether Charles transferred his code to Lelouche when he grabbed him by the throat or whether Lelouche will develop it on his own.

    First of all LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL (would make it longer but some people would call it “spamming”) this is funny as hell.
    The first half of the episode was like wth? I didn’t like the way they handled the whole mariann thing turns out she’s just a happy crazy woman who wants to turn everyone into goo and talk to the dead whoopdee fucking doo.
    The second half although made me laugh out loud at how fucking awsome it was I don’t care what anyone says about it not making sense Lelouch practically geassed “God” (again LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL)
    The whole Suzaku thing was like meh at least Lelouch is now practically won since he’s god and has Jesus on his side sooooooo I expect some major pwnzorz for Shneizel no matter what he does.
    All Lelouch is missing now is Kallen and the circle will be complete YAYZ
    I hope he wipes out the ootbk for being assholes:
    O “yeah lelouch man we’re sorry for kicking you out of our club we brought apology cookiez?”
    L “yeah….. *GEASS* THROW YOURSELVES OFF A CLIFF BECAUSE GUESS WHAT I DIDN’T GEASS ANY OF YOU lololololol”
    O “YES YOUR MAJESTY”
    Oh and I posted on the earlier episode I knew Marianne was evil I mean really she and Charles make no sense how can one be happy floating around in nothingness talking to the dead…. wow if I wanted to talk to people all day…. well I would just do it.
    Also Sunrise’s got balls you see they threw an episode like this to go against the flow and that what makes it so awsome. they could’ve gone with the same old cycle of animes and do what everyone expects them to do but they didn’t they just made shit hit the fan so that the entire room was filled with shit.
    Can’t think of anything else sure something will come to me later but I’ll be back.

    @asdfas

    Predictably within a month of Suzaku saying: “You know what? Fuck it. Fuck this, fuck you, fuck revenge, fuck redemption, fuck the world. I’m done with all this shit. Next time you need to hock a guys ass over a chess game, go look up Gino. I’m done.

    Heh. And yes Britannia, that’s what Lulu can do to a room full of dignitaries when the one-man anti-Zero fire brigade goes on strike. Now bring on the all-star cadre of emotional casualties! Nukes vs. mind control powers, cage-match for the world.

    @bearzerger

    You know, viewed objecive, Lelouch and Suzaku show up as pretty damn eveil. The Knight of the Genocide and his Hell King. They nuke cities and enslave souls, and they do it with a smile. Good luck Schniezel, you’re good-guy-by-default, now.

    Can anyone verify if this makes sense?

    Jupiter = Zeus (in Roman), which is why it is the representation of “The Gods”.
    Thus Eye of Jupiter = Eye of GOD, which is why Lelouch was able to command it with his MeGa Geass.

    WTF.

    @Eldar

    I enjoyed that touch, one would think in a month they could get some spiffy gear to wear to their big show. But no, they had to wear silly Ashford uniforms.

    @Semtex

    Always appreciate the positive comments, and we tend to keep it “real” around here. In the beginning I was more serious business than I am now, but the show has gone past being able to do that. It’s alright though, I still watch it hungrily each week.

    @Bearzerger

    Yeah, neither seems to have the urge to see their world realized, just to get the results they want. And I’m a Kallen fanboy so it would be nice for her to come out of this with something good, although I kind of doubt it’s going to be romantically involved with Lelouch.

    @CJ

    Tsuruya conquers your attempt to edit!

    @Ventrix

    Not any worse than I can come up with.

    The final battle is going to be in space with the Damocles being some sort of satellite laser/death star system!!!! The Damocles is probably that thing we see Toudoh flying around/near in the opening. It’s the only thing that hasn’t been shown yet in the actual show.

    Schneizel dons on a zero like mask and becomes Darth Schneizel.

    Lelouch is Luke Skywalker. Suzaku is Hans Solo and Kallen is Princess Leia.

    Fucking Star Wars End.

    All hail hono-Lulu!

    Marianne was crap all along. What a shame… anyhow, she loves her hubby after all. That can’t be helped.

    Its good to know that Suzaku and Lelouch are now back as comrades. wahahahaha! This is so cool, can’t wait for the conclusion!

    Gundam 00 2nd Season is fast approaching! wooohhoooo!!

    Thanks for the blog!

    @Halcyon

    That’s actually pretty plausible, at least the first part. Also remember Orange-kun’s mech is shown fighting in space in the OP (although it was disguised as not colored orange as to not give it away).

    @Rollchan

    And we are planning on duo blogging G00 as well, with Crusader being the primary this time. So, a bit of role reversal.

    it took them a month to announce Lelouch and that unkillable annoyance because they forgot something. After they got through all the bizarre half-explained plot, Lelouch ran into the door he blew to hell. They were trapped in there for a month and they couldn’t eat Suzaku >:(

    Seriously, rush through this season drunk and 2 days behind deadline.

    @Jack sorry, but that’s complete nonsense. Schneizel is every bit as evil in his own way as Lelouche if not more so. He’s every bit as responsible for FLEIA nuking Tokyo as crazy bitch and the YAOI-duo. And unlike Lelouche he doesn’t do evil for some idealistic goal, he just does it for himself.

    @Calawain
    I just find their pairing cute and it’s better than seeing her end up with someone like Gino, but like you I doubt it’s going to happen. Not only do I doubt that Lelouche is going to survive, there’s also the matter of Geass and the immortality Code which is in the way. Unless he makes everyone who knows about him forget about him and Geass, which is actually possible there’s no way he’s ever going to find peace.

    @bearzerger

    Schneizel kept his hands clean. Talking publicity. For example, it’s easy to see Lelouch losing Kaguya over simply having Suzaku for a partner- she’d be horrified, he’s evil incarnate to her, and prooves it constantly. Or Xingke can look at the events in the throne room, slap his forhead, and say “Oh… that’s what Ohgi meant…”

    It’s very hard not to show up to people as a good guy when your immediate oponents are known patricides fresh from a whirlwind tour of soul enslaving and city nuking. That’s the position Schneizel and his posse are in.

    Now that Suzaku is Lelouch’s Knight of Zero does that mean Lelouch is going to hand over Japan to Suzaku?

    That would be the best twist of all. “HAHAH OUGI you got owned. Here Suzaku, take Nippon and become the biggest hero in Japan while Ougi cries in the corner at being completely useless.”

  43. Zentari

    Vocab snafu then. Meant ‘weighing the information available to be used without prior bias’. Schneizel is frickn’ Flash Gordon going from that.

    @Halcyon

    It wouldn’t work like that. He and Lelouch would be known as the guys that reconquered japan after the heroic Ohgi made accord with the wise Schneizel for its liberty on the battlefield.

    LOL why wouldn’t it work like that? Japan, technically, is still under control of Britannia. Lelouch and his Black Knights never got past freeing Tokyo because Suzaku dropped the bomb on them.

    Nobody in Japan knows that Suzaku was the one who dropped the bomb. With a little creative PR, Emperor Lelouch can announce that he’s succeeding Govenor Nunnally’s will and granting Japan full independence, thus engendering himself to the Japanese not as the Masked Revolutionary Zero but as the Benevolent Emperor Lelouch.

    Also, nobody outside of the BK knows about the deal Schneizel struck with Ougi. It was never announced publically that Schneizel would be giving Japan back. Their only public alliance was to rid the Britannian Army of the insurrectionists that Lelouch geass’ed earlier on Kamina Island/Great Britannia.

    Man, I can’t wait to see Gottwield stomp the shit out of Ougi for lying to him. Ougi’s face in those last few frames were priceless “OHSHI- We just tried to divide by Zero!!!”

  47. Posted September 1, 2008 at 9:16 am | Permalink

    A barrage of questions: Super-geass aside, if Lulu could have used an ‘OBEY ME WITHOUT QUESTION’ geass on everyone from the very start, why didn’t he do that instead of wasting geass opportunities? I mean, wasn’t he experimenting with geass in the beginning of the first season? Did he not try that before? You know, kinda like, if you get three wishes from a genie, why not wish for more wishes? Wouldn’t that just make things easier? (Obviously he wouldn’t want the people he loves to turn into zombified slaves, but as for his enemies…?)

    Oh yea, something else I want to know. What exactly happened between Zaku’s ‘I must take my revenge on you Lelouch’, and ‘I am your loyal Knight of Zero’??

    @Maipeisu

    If you look at the first season, there were a lot of reasons why Lelouch didn’t just come out in the open with Geassing people left and right. As you’ve said, he was experimenting with Geass and really didn’t know the full extent of it’s power at first. He was also not really concerned with becoming Emperor he just wanted to know the truth behind his mother’s “assassination” which is why he mainly concentrated on Geassing people in the Royal Family that may have had a connection with her death.

    Another factor to look at is the other variables such as V.V. being immortal and immune to Geass. There are lots of different answers but I think the most important one is really the same answer as to why Lelouch don’d the Zero mask in the first place: So he wouldn’t be recognized by the Royal Family and reveal that he AND Nunnally were still alive. I think his concern for Nunnally’s safety is what kept him from walking up to the palace at Pendragon and geass-raping everyone in sight.

    But now that most of Lelouch’s obstacles are gone (V.V., Charles, the Geass Cult) and his raison d’etre is gone (Nunnally, the truth behind Marianne’s death), Lelouch doesn’t have any reason to hold back his Geass anymore.

    RE: ZeroZaku
    I think part of what swayed Suzaku over to Lelouch’s side is his last conversation with Shirley. The previews for Ep 22 are a big indication of why they’re now colluding. Additionally, now that Lelouch is Emperor, Lelouch can give Suzaku what Schneizel and Charles weren’t willing to. Supremacy in the Knights of Rounds and stewardship of Japan. This is really just Suzaku making the best out of a bad situation and promoting himself through the ranks. Also, I think his experience with Marianne and Charles manipulating everyone (including Lelouch) may have played a factor in convincing Suzaku to side with Lelouch to become the Knight of Zero Tolerance.
