Itazura na Kiss 19: Kotoko gets mad…

Yeah Naoki isn’t still supposed to be sucking.

Ah yes so finally the Keita vs Naoki arc ends with a Kotoko victory, Naoki is so very lucky to have her even if he doesn’t deserve her in the first place. I really sympathized with Kotoko this time since she felt things had just gone back to the way things were in a one sided marriage. Kin chan gets his revenge and mocks Naoki for being and idiot. Chris gets Kin-chan to marry and forces him to propose twice. Keita disappointed and burned simply walks away while the whole cafeteria gets to see Kotoko triumph once again over her cold hard headed husband.

Poor Kotoko feels like its back to the old days…

If you love her an you know and you really want to show it clap your hands…Is that really so hard Naoki? Can you even clap?

So have the rest of us…

Yeah Naoki this isn’t high school anymore…

Man is Naoki the biggest man baby in all of anime or what? He never felt this, he never felt that. I just hope the next thing he feels is a Kotoko slap since he got one off of Kotoko. Stupid Naoki ignoring Kotoko like that, he deserved very book that was thrown at him. Well At least Kotoko will be getting a lot of make up kisses.

Kotoko – 40, Naoki – 0

No one likes a sore loser Keita…

Go Chirs!

Oh wow now even Char Quattro Bajeena is trying to get Kotoko now.

    Man, after the slap, I just lost all respect for Naoki — of course, I suppose Kotoko threw the books at him, so technically I suppose maybe they’re even. But… Descending into Domestic Violence sort of squicks me.

    As much as I detest cheating and people who try to break up existing relationships, I really can’t hate Keita. Naoki really IS sort of a dick, and gave 0 indication that he was actually in love with Kotoko until the last few minutes of this episode. And even then, he didn’t apologize for the slap.

    I like InK, but… Ugh. Domestic Violence leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

    On the plus side, Chris + Kin-chan is love, and I’m glad to see Kinnosuke come out a winner for once. I always liked him.

    @Jobrill: I don’t think it was a “wife beating” slap as much as it was a “holy crap my wife is hysterical, I have to snap her out of it.” Cause that really is the best cure for hysterics: a quick slap.

    But yeah, Kotoko hit Naoki with several books, I think they’re even.

    I’m still a bit disappointed… I wanted to see a little bit of physical damage on Naoki at least. I absolutely hated Naoki for slapping Kotoko that way, hysterical or not, no guy should ever lay a hand on a girl without gentleness, unless otherwise her very safety, or others’, depended on a hit from him.

    The biological structure of a male body is usually twice heavier, firmer, and sturdier than a female’s body, which probably means that a light slap from a guy would equal to a “nice” punch from a girl. So in my opinion, for the whole scenario to be called even, Kotoko should’ve thrown hardbound and heavy books at Naoki in a non-girly way (lol).

    … I’m quite ebil :D The blonde dude looked like Chris’s relative or something. @_@

    Naoki only slapped her because she was hysterical. He also originally slapped her in the rain scene back in v10/ep14. It was just to calm her down.

    No need to think of him as a wife beater now (though it wouldn’t be surprising).

    In the manga, they didn’t “kiss”. They fucked all night long to make up for all the lost sex. Yes, I am serious, they did fuck in the manga. Stupid anime for 13 year old girls. D: I can’t even see naoki NAKED.

    A person that never felt sadness or jealousy…wtf?

    Nway, when the Okama said Kotoko was cute when she was sleeping…is that a sign of gender-unbending?

    I was so pumped when Kotoko finally had the courage to walk out on Naoki after expressing her true feelings. Then 8 minutes later, I RAGED hard when she went back to him after he said “I need you”. Why didn’t he run after her when she left? What will happen the NEXT time he gets jealous/sad?

    The part that pissed me off the most was when Naoki said he could only be his “true self” with Kotoko. He acts just the same with Kotoko in private as he does with everyone else. So what, exactly, is his true self? It seems that Naoki is more concerned about possessing Kotoko than truly having any affection towards her. He can never take the initiative on his own to express his “true feelings”. Every time he has made a romantic gesture towards Kotoko it’s been in response to the “fear” of losing her to a rival. After 5 years of courtship, you’d think he’d get a clue by now.

    At this stage, Kotoko reminds me of an abused wife who convinces herself that her husband only mistreats her as a sign of love.

    No matter what asshole behavior Naoki displays all he has to say is “Hey, come on back to me baby” and she comes running (quite literally). It’s really disgusting to see that in an anime. Either Kotoko is truly an idiot and the producers are really, really trying to drive that point home or she’s a masochist.

    I wish the writers would’ve stretched out the Keita/Kotoko match another episode or two. At least that way, Naoki could’ve been coached by Kinchan to do something really romantic to win Kotoko back. As it stands, Keita is still the better man and the better match for Kotoko.

    The Chris/Kinchan side plot really showed Kotoko the romance and passion she had been lacking in her own marriage. It’s just a shame that next episode Naoki’s going to go revert to being the same cold-hearted, selfish, “rational” blockhead.

    As much as Machiko said they were “perfect” for each other, the more I watch this series the more I can’t help but disagree. If anything, they’re more opposite than similar. I can’t find anything those two have in common that would actually help build a healthy relationship.

    This series started off so good but everytime I watch the interaction between Naoki and Kotoko I want to punch my screen so fucking hard.

    /end rant

    I think I pretty much agree with everything Halcyon said. Its just so, so frustrating.

    As a woman I can’t think why she would still be with him at this point, the display in the cafeteria would be much TOO LITTLE much too late.

    And just a thought, maybe he could have pulled her into his arms and held her until she calmed down rather than slapping her like that. Him hitting her irritated the hell out of me.

    Sigh, we can only hope there isn’t a next time because he’s now learned his lesson. I hope by the end of this series he is the husband Kotoko deserves, because he really is undeserving of her at this point.

    I think out of the whole series, the Keita arc is the best. Up to this point Kotoko has been totally blinded by the Ice King’s brains, looks, etc. Kotoko was never really interested in Kin-chan so she just focused all her attention on Naoki. However, when that hottie Keita showed up, it made Kotoko stop and think. Here’s a guy who she barely knows and he is confessing his love, but her husband after knowing him for more than 6 years still treats her like trash. Keita helped Kotoko to see that regardless of her limited talents, she shouldn’t have such low self esteem. When he said that it made her feel good. Keita also helped her to see that true relationships are not suppose to be one-sided and if Naoki really loved her he would be more loving and supportive of her. One more thing that Keita did was show Kokoto that despite the harsh treatment she gets from her husband there are other guys out there they find her desirable. I think the Keita arc matured Kokoto a little.

    I found Naoki in this episode to be totally heartless. You would think that he was an android or something. Never experiencing jealousy or sadness. I’m sure this could be true of someone that has an IQ of 200 and super rich. Why would they feel such emotions. I guess that’s why he says that he needs Kotoko because she makes up the 10% that he lacks in emotion. Geez, what a jerk! I also agree with the other comments that only when he is threatened he shows feeling for Kotoko. After a quick kiss or two, he’s back to Mr. Freeze and she’s the hapless love sick puppy. Oh well, it’s just an anime so I’ll enjoy it for what it is worth. Forgot to mention that I was really happy for Kin-chan and Chris. I hope Keita finds a true love also. I really like Keita.

    Anyhoo, I love the 8 mins of romance the anime gave us. I’m not sure where they can go through here. The next 6 or so episodes may just be a bunch of fillers. I hope they have a good ending to this series

    @Jobrill
    At least Kotoko was willing to fight back and left the abusive environment rather than staying. Naoki will have much to answer for.

    Kin-chan won even if he doesn’t know it. Like Kotoko Chris is certainly marrying beneath her. ;)

    @L-chan
    I disagree Kotoko should have thrown heavier books…

    @13sugars
    Yeah Kotoko should have punched Naoki in the nads.

    @Dubby
    I have no desire to see Naoki nakkid, I’d rather let them enjoy their privacy.

    @pagan poor
    Hopefully there won’t be drug problems as well.

    @Vii-nii
    I don’t think Moto-chan is going to go straight for Kotoko, but that would be awesome.

    @Halcyon
    I think a grand gesture is in the works though in all probability it might fail. Though maybe this Bajeena fellow can help sort things out…

    @D.J
    Naoki found out that Kotoko can and will runaway from this one sided love I hope the lesson is not lost on him tho Mr. Bajeena might set things right. ;)

    @gypsy-chan
    They seem to be rushing through most of the manga material since they want to give a final ending to the unfinished story. The original author died before the end was written so I am sure that it will be the final eps where things change for the better.

    I think Naoki is one main guy of an anime that I really really don’t like.. how can he be so… like this? I like this cold type of charcters, but Naoki is just a big NO.. poor Keita, really liked him.

    And who’s the new guy? He looks cool though.. need to see the preview..
