I suggest that you change the picture for Kuroshitsuji. Like everyone else before me said, Kuroshitsuji is NOT shota yaoi. It’s simply about a 12-year-old child who is the head of a toy company and his demon butler. It makes me angry that you guys think that it’s yaoi. >:

Before I have to sadly trot back to the army for more suffering on the green uniform, I should spend the last few minutes of my free weekend to reply to some comments here.

@L-chan: I am a huge fan of Skip Beat, particularly Kyoko-sama. I have this thing about spunky girls (read: spunky girls, not tsunderes) and they always make it hard for me to dislike them when they are so strong-willed and adorable at the same time. Kyoko-sama is a steadfast girl who will never give up on people who care and truly love her. She’s the best!

@Olivia: I am obviously biased, so haha, you do not need to listen to me.

@Garnet: Negativity is always nice because the positives become sparkling. If everything we say is something good, we no longer become reviewers/critics. We become advertisers. Of course, you can always challenge that notion, but that will be another post.

@Miken-chan: I feel like tearing all of those emo vampires to pieces if I am given the chance. Nonetheless, my girlfriend is gonna watch it, and i will watch it if only to complain more about it.

@Jp_zero: I actually enjoy Tales of the abyss, and to be honest, most of it has to do with Tear and Jade. I cannot resist any girl with a “I am woman, hear me Roar” type of personality. It’s just way too hard, plus she likes cute stuff. That is just freaking awesome. I do not think that the story will be great, but hey, Tear is good enough to view it.

@Kimmy: If the vampires are not that emo, I wouldn’t have given up on it. It degenerates into a pile of I-do-not-know-what after a few promising episodes. I think it’s just an easy choice to go for a fairy doctor. It might heal my soul.

@Saris: Definitely. Persona’s anime just establishes itself in the world of Persona, but it does not follow any of the story, Nonetheless, Persona ~trinity soul~ is supposedly good but I get so sad without the use of the Revolver that I stopped watching it.

Quoting my girlfriend again, she says that all the bloggers in THAT have an obvious bias toward yaoi. She tells me to imagine one of the guys as a girl, but my ability to creatively imagine it is rather weak. Can’t deny that allegation that we have problems with BL, even if it is good.

@Skoll: I do not mind Clannad but many expressed surprise when I said that I am not going to watch it. Well, maybe I will watch the first episode but if that darn retard girl even appears for 1 second, I am not going to watch. I hate fanservice, but I hate blatant moe fanservice even more. I do not need moe to satisfy my sexual urges or anything. Leave that to the rabid fanboys, thank you very much.

I actually think that there is a wide selection of Fall series, but maybe you watch different genres compared to me. Yay to good shoujo series for Impz!

@Vitamin-c: Great. Hah, take that Calawain and other fanservice lovers!

@Poki: I know it’s not yaoi because I follow the manga a little to check it out. It is just that I cannot find a pretty picture, and I do not have much internet for the next week or so. I am going to follow it anyway, and I am demanding that my girlfriend watches it too.

Sadly, Lots of crap, I have to say. Nothing really promising :/
Only a few ones seem to be interesting… oh well, that makes it easier to concentrate on studying ~__~

There’s a PS2 version? Unfortunately, I don’t have a PS2 or the Japanese skills (and what’s a VN anyway?)… If there’s an anime, there is at least a small chance for me of it getting subbed. *is hopeful*

What about “Switch”? (Not Stich). Is that really coming out or were people confused?

Of the other new series I would really like to see Black Butler, Hakushaku to Yousei, Michiko To Hatchin….just because the introductory art looks so promising.

Macademi Wasshoi lolicon bait? I seriously hope you’re just trolling. It’s the complete opposite of anything loli and any person thinking otherwise should have their brain checked.

Is it just me or are there no more female heroins now-a-days? I like shounen anime/manga as much as the next person but sometimes I need a different POV.

Junjou Romantica season 2 —>>My life just got better.

Skip Beat anime…as long as they don’t fuck up the drawing style then we’re good to go.

    Yay ~
Skipbeat <3 looking foward to it as well as vampire knight it should get to the juicy bits now :D

I hope they don’t butcher Skip Beat. The manga’s great, but these types of stories don’t transfer well to anime.

    Fall looks good this year,
Looking forward to Nodame Cantabile (even though you guys might not see the fact the first series was made of epicness)
Although bringing out a second series of Rosario was a mistake… (They slaughtered the first series)
Anyway hope you guys enjoy fall as much as I do

“I’m actually surprised why an anime of Tales wasn’t made earlier.”
Tales of Phantasia, Eternia, and Symphonia say hi!
I haven’t watched Symphonia but Phantasia turned out nicely. Eternia was rather bleh due to bad pacing and being more of a side story. Hopefully Abyss with it’s already great plot/character development will change my mind that Tales series should stick with the OAV format.

I have to say that I usually never commment on sites that give reviews for anime, but this has to be the worse one I’ve ever seen. The individuals reviewing the animes on this site seem to simply toss it out just by who the creator is or what company is going to be producing it. At least see a couple of episodes before making a judgement and not sway others to see a particular anime because of this reason. That and most of the individuals giving a review seemed to favor one genre of an anime over the others and just write a biased opinion based just on that. Last time I’ll go to this site for upcoming reviews on new anime.

  13. Posted September 4, 2008 at 3:24 pm | Permalink

    @Higurashi
It’s a preview… not review that little ‘p’ makes one hell of a difference.

  14. Posted September 4, 2008 at 11:28 pm | Permalink

Crusader got it right there. You will have a proper argument if it is a “review.” Your argument falls flat if it’s a preview because we are also speculating.

Tsk tsk tsk. Take a class from Crussie/Luppie for basic trolling 101.

  15. Maipeisu
    Posted September 16, 2008 at 5:06 pm | Permalink

@Higarushi: To be fair, I do wholeheartedly agree that everything deserves its due process before receiving a judgment. I personally enjoy ALL types of anime, and don’t really base my preferences on genre or other superficial distinctions.

    ~HOWEVER~

Please, plz, PLEEZE keep in mind that most of us have *lives* outside of THAT (yes, even Impz.) Many of us are in college, working and engaged in numerous other activities. Under no circumstances are we watching ALL of these new anime. We simply don’t have the time and don’t plan to lose valuable seconds of our lives watching some anime that looks crappy from the outset (e.g. JUNJOU!) Yes, there is a LOT of crap out there. It is to be expected. We are not paid critics; we are bloggers, we do this for free, and this is purely for entertainment. We are not here to talk up every single anime that is out there. We are simply honestly sharing our speculations on what looks good and what looks bad. If you want want a “balanced” assessment, go to another site, or better yet, visit the production company’s website and check what they have to say about it. We are biased, we are unashamed, and quite frankly, a little bit of bias is a lot more entertaining than some coolheaded, plastic opinion that doesn’t make a statement or provoke conversation. Anybody with half a brain knows you can’t judge a book by its cover, and my fellow bloggers are no exception.

  16. Posted September 16, 2008 at 5:19 pm | Permalink

@Maipeisu: I’m….I’m….I’m so proud! Your first flame! I need to take a picture…

@Higarushi: I’m going to answer you in 4 diferent styles:

    IRC Style: STFU!

LOLCAT Style: STFU and Gu Git Mai bukkit!

    4Chan Style: TITS OR GTFO!

Serious Style: Dude, you are the one being biased. First, this is a preview of animes that aren’t EVEN released yet. But that doesn’t mean we can’t comment about the basis for the plot, the studios that are animating it and their previous works, the trailers, etc. There is already lots of material to analyse and to reflect about. And we did (specially when said material had any manga; I forced the team to read chapters of the mangas.) The keyword here is PREVIEW, as in before viewing.

Your comment is an obvious troll attempt just to create conflit and attention upon yourself. If you don’t like our posts, you can always get back to Jason Miao….

LOL this blog is full of fails. why call this an anime blog if you’re not even going to blog 90% of the anime out there. not to mention most of you critize the decent animes that are coming out. i suggest you guys change it to “THAT Animeblog that only blogs about porn and to love -ru”. Sorry but i’m not coming back to read this biased blog and neither will anyone i know.

    THAT Animeblog = fail.

  18. Posted September 17, 2008 at 11:07 am | Permalink

@Amy: Wait, so you want a blog made of bloggers that aren’t renumerated for their work and do it because they like anime to be forced to blog all of the 28 or so ongoing animes without having consideration for the blogger’s private time and life and even not having regards about each blogger’s personal taste…And you threathen us with the notion that we will be scared that you won’t read our posts anymore? Go ahead, make us that favor, you silly L.A. dude. (Yes we know where you live! Bwuahwuahwuah!)

To add to your troll-fail attempt, you obviously don’t pay much attention. We are blogging To-Love-RU, Code Geass R2, Macross F, Xam’d: Lost Memories, Natsume Yuujin-chou , World Destruction, Itazura na Kiss, Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, along with several OVA’s and other anime related posts like OP’s lists, Anime dissertation, manga reviews, fun anime events, etc.

And where do you see porn? I wished we could blog porn, that would be a 50% increase on incoming traffic ….

I gotta say that I found most of the comments for each upcoming anime title humorously biased. It was a fun read. Well, except for Impz’s remark regarding Hakushaku to Yousei’s 19th century setting as ‘medieval England.’ Sorry, but you’re gonna have to go back to school on this one. Call it the modern era, the victorian period, or even the industrial age. Heck, go ahead and take the easy way out and call it a ‘period piece.’ Next thing you know, people will start saying that the Roman Empire rose during the stone age.

Tytania – I’m sold at the mention of LoGH. But holy cow – the seiyuu for this is beyond awesome. And a space opera at that. Epic, anyone?

Shikabane Hime is also up there on my list, along with Kurozuka & Kannagi. Nodame Cantabile is an obligation, so of course.

Hey guys anybody know here when the 2nd season about the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya is going to debut? I know its a stupid question, but so far I really need to know. And yes I heard it was cancelled, so dont go and lecture me. I’m just hopin anyone out there might have an updated info on the subject. Because the last websites I checked werent updated their dates were still 2006-2007. And please! gimme a sensible answer, none of that crap that doesn’t make any sense. Also no stupid replies about what I already know Alright?!

Wow, I thought I was cynical about anime… you guys hate everything! Toradora ep 1 was good; I’m up for some more of that. Shikabane Hime: Aka looks lovely but I got bored in moments, and Kyo no Go no Ni made me feel sick – the character designs have that generic, shitty created-by-committee look that so many crap OVAs have. The kids look strangely old, and look even more weird in the original manga… I guess it says a lot about me that I’d prefer sexualised 10 year olds to look 10, but hey… I’m used to my anime making characters look younger, not like wizened badly concieved freaks. I’m up for some of Michiko To Hatchin and Kemeko Deluxe, so thanks fer the write-ups on those.

Also, what’s with the lack of knowledge on the Tales series? Have you people not seen the decent Tales of Symphonia anime and the slightly less so Tales of Phantasia?

I hadn’t had a chance to look through all the latest animes that came out this season so I’m glad you guys made such an informative list. I’m looking forward to watching Shikabane hime Aka, Casshern SINS and Kannagi (I’m a fan of the manga already ^^)
Keep up the good work ^^

This might be one of the posts we lost during the relocation of our data from the old Aniblogger.net days. We managed to move just about everything, but because the AB.net servers were in such bad shape, we did lose a handful of posts.

Not that I know of, unfortunately. If you’re looking for an overview of the season, I’d recommend Sea Slugs or The Cart Driver’s season previews. Those are both good blogs with bloggers I know, so if you’re doing research on the fall 2008 season, those blogs could give you an idea of things.
