Skip Beat Episode 4 – LOVE HER PLEASE

I have ran out of words to describe the greatness of Kyoko-sama. Go Kyoko!

For a bit of extremely advanced spoilers, the latest chapter of Kyoko-sama (chapter 130) is just so hot that I am falling in love with her again!

Summary

Three days have passed since the failed audition in LME. Kyoko decided to give up her silly aspirations and be a petrol kiosk assistant. On her way to purchase some food, she wondered why she tried so hard to enter LME. After remembering Dicktaro again, she started hallucinating how she would eventually be a superstar and destroy Dicktaro. Back at work, she was turned off by the appearance of Dicktaro in a commercial while her colleague was swooning at him. Her colleague thought that her extreme behavior was an indication Kyoko’s ultra devotion to Dicktaro as a fan.

Her nemesis appeared and she realized she cannot be spotted in her current state. However, her colleague erratically assumed that Kyoko is a fangirl of Dicktaro and kept asking her over. After a series of internal turmoils in her mind, it turned out that Dicktaro could not even recognize her when they saw each other face to face. That obviously pissed off Kyoko a hell lot since she was expecting him to somewhat recognize her. It was an insult that she was not even important at all, and she swore to crush him in showbiz.

Back at home, she was thinking how to take revenge. She was at a loss until the shop owner told her to keep trying her luck in the entertainment industry. She was encouraged and decided to try for LME again. In the LME waiting area, Ren and Sawara discussed about Kyoko’s motives to enter the industry, and the reason why Ren was so pissed off over her impure motivations. Kyoko, after some good planning, was able to sneak into the restricted staff area but she bumped into a veteran actress.

The old actress assumed her to be a new actress in the new department, and forced Kyoko to be her bellgirl. Ren and Sawara were in fact waiting for the experienced actress. She tried to flirt with Ren by saying she took too much time to prepare herself, but Ren coldly stated that she should just do her make up in her travels. Kyoko followed up with the actress’s luggage and begged Sawara greatly. Sawara said he was glad at her determination. Kyoko added that she would do anything to be in the industry.

Sawara then proudly told her to gain points and do her task. Ren kindly helped Kyoko with some of the luggage, and said that it was part of being a gentleman. Ren then informed her that she was the first member of a new department called “Love me” department. It was a department for talented rookies who lacked the quality of love in their acting. In order to get a debut, Kyoko has to get as many points as possible. Just then, the actress came back and asked why Kyoko allowed Ren to help. She then dismissed Kyoko harshly and gave her a bad score. Ren simply smiled sparklingly and told her that she should refuse his offer for help. Kyoko realized how much of a jerk Ren was and swore to make him suffer too!

Now, this episode is just so darn awesome. First of all, I have a very important announcement to make. Die, you stupid Dicktaro who cannot even recognize the goodness and awesomeness of Kyoko-sama. I really feel sad for Kyoko, as she wasted two years of her life on that shitty brat. I am also amazed how they manage to make Dicktaro so much of a dick that I find the Dick rather mild in the manga. I applaud you for making that guy even more of an asshole so I can flame him totally without any remorse!

I personally cannot start celebrating at the fury of evil Kyoko and it is done tastefully in the anime too. For all the complains I made about the below-par animation of the series, they have creatively made use of Kyoko’s inner complexity to perfection with the devils and convoluted thoughts in her mind. I mean, I was laughing my ass off when the spirits started taunting Kyoko about the “Love me” name. They are including more original scenes of Kyoko in internal monologue, and I find it refreshing because it makes Kyoko even crazier than she could be at times.

Anyone felt that Ren’s character design somehow improved in Episode 4? I remember I was rather turned off by his design earlier on, but I am getting used to it. Sadly, I am still a tad disappointed that his sarcastic smile is not shown in a more exaggerated fashion because it is where the irony and sarcasm of Ren shines through. Yes, I am pretty sadistic but it is so hilarious to see his ultra gentleman’s smile on Kyoko. Kyoko’s total freaked out and pissed off behavior in reaction is just golden.

The main dish of Skip Beat is finally starting with the love me section. I cannot wait for the first official mission of Kyoko in her gaudy pink sweater. That will be absolutely genius since you cannot see how terrible it looks like in the manga. I just cannot wait!

I really have to catch up on my manga. I’m not watching this show until it gets to the part that I am at with the manga right now, so I’m just reading your posts about it. But isn’t the pink jumpsuit shown in the OP? I think it looks oka- nevermind.

@Zeus: Yes, I did imagine but my imagination cannot create that bright gaudy pink image into fluid motion. I know I have seen it in the OP, but nothing beats walking around with a Kyoko-sama that looks so damn pissed. It’s going to be so awesome, and I really applaud her guts in doing anything to succeed.

@Alisa: Haahah, the manga is so worth catching up. The latest arc is really very awesome and I do not want to spoil your experience in it, so just go read it. As said earlier, the pink jumpsuit is seen but it got to be around longer to appreciate its… “beauty?”

Chapter 130 is awesome. Natsu is made up of total win!

Hmm… doing a rough calculation of manga-to-anime-conversion rate, the end of episode 4 coincides with the end of chapter 7. That gives us roughly 1 episode = 1.75 manga chapters.

@Soso: I think that it is not really correct for you to kill him. I mean, Dicktaro is actually a very kind person beneath that sick jerkbag exterior of him. He is meant to be worshiped like a god and you should genuflect on his non-hirsute posterior.

Yeah right. Death is too easy for him. Make sure you disfigure him, feed him with extreme steroids to make him flaccid, punish him with extremely sweet omelet every few hours. Eventually, wait for him to wither.

@Dizzcity: Hmm, I got a feeling it should at least be 26 chapters. The Sho’s PV seems like a good time to end the series because it does give some sort of a conclusion. It will also be a good lead up for future sequels, and I do hope that they will make this series a long running one because it deserves that much at least.

Wahahaha xD Now I cannot wait for the newest episode. You know, I personally cannot wait to see how they animate the first real task of Kyoko. She is so darn hot in that one actually, and we actually see the goodness of Ren.

Here comes the pink overalls… Seeing as the manga is black and white so the shocking pink overalls didn’t look distinguishably bad I wonder how much anyone can stand looking at those XD

I still hate Ren (argh you emo man) and I agree Kyoko is so awesome in chapter 130.

@Machi: Heh. It’s going to be so amazing that I will worship it with glee.

@elva: Why @_@ Ren is actually getting so nice. He even did that for Kyoko… *cough model cough*
