Lack of Prince Ali and Patrick makes Soma sad…
We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Kurdistan, we shall fight on the land and air, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in space, we shall defend our nation, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the deserts, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which we do not for a moment believe, this nation or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Allies beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the new Federation Army, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, Prince Ali, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of Kudistan. – KPSA
I find it ironic that killing Brown Anfs is okay, but kill a blue one and its a war crime…this is nothing short of discrimination based on color.
Oh shit kiddie meat shield failed, now what will Shirin do to make it look like a war crime?
OH SHIT Pedo- Princess is stealling the kids!
So it seems that the A-Laws did not kill children as the false rumors of Kataron and CB indicated. Describing the debacle as a “war crime” Kataron and CB forget that the soldiers of the AEU, HRL, and Union had suffered similar and worse fates in their war against CB dictatorship. Such complaints about the harshness of battle are the mark of silly amateurs and losers who treat the business of war as if it were a small thing. Despite the absence of civilian casualties Kataron was not expecting that the A-Laws would treat them all as combatants and shoot them. Apparently despite all the vicious rumors it was the first time CB had seen an A-Laws operation, and after seeing what professionals are capable of CB cried for hours on end on how the A-Laws did things better.
Sumeragi collapses at the sight of dead bodies and recalls the time when she initiated a blue on blue incident during her time with the AEU. Seems the event took the life of her Emilio who died without regrets and blame for anyone, clearly the stoic nature of Emilio had no influence on the drunken wreck that was leeching off of Billy. It also seems that Katie was on the receiving end of the blue on blue, after recalling the incident Kathy realized that it was Kujou as the sloppiness of her operations was now plainly apparent. Teiria gives a speech about how intervening is always a good thing and how people who give information about terrorist networks are evil. Clearly the idea of pre-emptive strike has not died out in the centuries since Neo-Conservatism held political clout. Strawman Saji then proceeds to weep more for a bunch of Kataron Terrorists than he ever did for Louise and her family. After Prince Ali performed a one man nuke on Azadid and swept aside the hated occupation army and secret police of Azadistan Jihad-kun and Princess Poverty fled the scene once it was clear that the Hero of Kurdistan was there and eager to complete his vengeance against the hated Azadsitani occupier and the traitor Setsuna who betrayed his homeland. After fleeing the battle Jihad-kun wastes no time in blaming the Federation and grossly exaggerating the numbers of KPSA suits involved from Prince Ali’s one to over 9000. Clearly because Jihad-kun never paid attention in school, he could not even count to one and skipped a few numbers.
Come on Katie you did it o Patrick…it’s nothing really. Patton slapped plenty of guys and they still loved him.
Prince Ali has utterly destroyed they hated occupations forces of the Azadistani infidels.
Validating Incest doujins… Siscon confirmed.
Oberst Katie is still uncomfortable with going to war again, but Major Lindt having been in the shit for so long voices how this gruesome business has always been a part of war and how unity in needed now more than ever to face CB and their Kataron cronies. Upon hearing that Sergei did not kill Saji, Lindt was understandably pissed and slapped Wild Bear for not ridding us of that useless strawman character that was created to make Tieria look more awesome despite the immense amount of suck he possesses. Soma starts to suffer for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, but upon recalling the wisdom of Patton dons the mask of the warrior who will fight until this war is over or that she is dead. Ginin and his platoon are finally allowed to join Kampfgruppe Katie in their Gundam hunt, Ginin declares that he is fighting to build a better united tomorrow and that he has no regrets. Louise and soma meet for the first time and hit it off, while Andrei thinks that his chances of a three way just went up… Kataron seems to be getting stuff from Wang’s War Supplies Inc. after Nena was allowed to buzz the lovely crater that the A-Laws created. Given how the A-Laws did not kill any children the terrorists of Kataron put them all in trucks with the pedo-Princess Poverty.
No Mein Oberst you are lovlier for you lack of an odor from cheap liquor. Besides your are smarter for haveing better taste in men Patrick >>> Billy.
…and look where it got him.
Oh, how fall you have fallen Kujou, should have stuck with the AEU. Though quite how you ended up fraternizing with the Union adn misbehaving with Billy is something we can’t answer…seems treachery might run deeper than we thought.
The A-Laws spot CB and prepare to sortie against them, but Mr. Bushido is Graham Acre late to the briefing, Oberst Katie does not like this prima donna one bit, but Captain Ginin steps in to diffuse the situation. Ginin remarks about how he wants to see Mr. Permit fight and if he is as every bit good as he says he is. Upon the attack Soma gives Hannibal Haptism a good kick in the teeth. Tieria has nary a kill to his credit as Mr. Bushido proves that Setsuna is still a loser in his vaunted Gundam 00. Clearly Jihad-kun is unworthy of such a fine machine. Louise is positively enamored with Soma as they sit together at briefings and was keen on watching Soma’s back. Sadly that yrui blocker yellow does yet another thing to make me hate her more by interrupting a Louise save. Andrei follows Louise as she goes to give Yellow a punch in the face. Lasse bictches and moans about his inability to pilot and wishes Lichty were there to dhoot, forgetting how Lasse was a gunner on an unarmed ship. Unable to stay their stupidity for much longer they put Strawman Saji behind a trigger. While Louise is starting to become more badass Saji cries and weeps for himself in another sickening display of Saji emotional turmoil that vindicates Lindt’s slap of Wild Bear for letting Saji live.
…
Well…seeing as how Patrick is hardly on your mind these days, I suppose we may have misjudged you. Though I wonder if you and Kujou were ever meant to be…
Still sad that Prince Ali has not killed some one yet…
Impressions:
Well it seems all that whining and crying about killing of children was all for naught as the A-Laws killed zero kids despite the lies of CB and Kataron. Really it was another failed chance to show the A-Laws as excellent evil. Either war has become something else or that Sunrise is once again dead wrong about war as their attempt at Kataron sympathy was played up once again. This time however instead of courageously hiding behind children, they are now portrayed as defenseless to the point that Saji has to step in and defend them. Oh, how innocent Sunrise believes that Kataron is despite the fact that they have weapons, clearly being a terrorist, or whatever new polite term one chooses to use, makes one an innocent victim of war rather than a perpetuator. Honestly the A-Laws look better and more elite for not killing the kids and making a mockery of the Kataron military build up than CB for protecting an armed terrorist group who takes delivery of war materiel from Ms. Wang through the Nena Express. Right now since Ribbons and Ms. Wang seem to be playing proxy war CB looks all the more stupid for holding on to their idiot idealism, through their continued ignorance of Ms. Wang peddling weapons and info to both sides.
You will be a minister of death praying for war! The deadliest weapon in the world is a Soma and her mecha. It is your killer instinct which must be harnessed if you expect to survive in combat. Your mecha is only a tool. It is a hard heart that kills. If your killer instincts are not clean and strong you will hesitate at the moment of truth. You will not kill. You will become dead Soma. And then you will be in a world of shit. Because Soma is not allowed to die without permission!
I gather it did not hurt one bit, but honestly Wild Bear, letting Saji live was a war crime…many good Feddies will die because Saji lives.
Correction Ali’s attack against the infidel Azadistani occupiers was the first move in reorganizing the Middle East by liberating Kurdistan. Best reorganization EVER.
I hate how Nena was granted Super Soldier powers for the sake of thwarting the Innovators, how this is achieved is beyond me, but given how Ribbons has Soma on his team I can’t wait to see the justification on how Nena is so vital. The only thing I hate more is that Prince Ali was denied a chance to kick ass once again with another fucking re-run of the same clip. This is really starting to piss me off Ali is there but he has not been fighting a Gundam yet. This Gundam teasing has got to cease because it was cut for some rather stupid crap like more Saji the Strawman. Speaking of Saji the Strawman I am sick of the bastard and as such the evil slap that Lindt gave Wild Bear seemed less evil and more justified because Saji still lives to torment us all. Given how much of a sissy and annoying Saji is the only reason why he is even there is to justify Tieria’s bullshit on how people ought to meddle in the affairs of other countries and impose their will on opposing sides. Really now it is this idiot policy of intervention that has caused more conflict in recent memory than it has prevented. Even if you dress it up as a police action it is still in reality a shooting war, I am not sure if Sunrise is being a fence sitter or just plain stupid in decrying the slaughter of Kataron yet endorsing the interventionist policy the Tieria espouses to that Strawman Saji whose only purpose seems to be the butt monkey and the guy who is always wrong. As a foil Saji is already a failure for being unable to defend his position in the face of Tieria’s warmongering. I cannot believe that after not killing the kids that we are to believe that the methodical killing of Kataron without collateral damage was meant to make us dislike the A-Laws. It seems that for Sunrise war is now a polite affair where any killing is abnormal, in short it is not longer a brutal affair about killng but a polit picinic of sorts where flowers bloom.
This comrades is a real hero, the badass normal mecha grunt, with 0% bullshit and 100% ass kicking.
Semper Fidelis Soma.
Hell Yeah Confession Time!
Glaring hypocrisy aside I find it a bit strange how Sumeragi was with the AEU and ended up with Billy from the Union, given her stronger ties to the Union guys back in S1 It was strange to see her as Katie opposite in the Blue on Blue incident. Still I guess they are trying to set up Katie and Sumeragi as rivals for S2, sad to see that Wild Bear has been sidelined though. I can understand not liking the idea of having to kill, but having sympathy for your enemy makes you liable to hesitate, and when that happens you are dead. Even if Lindt is being a jerk he’s essentially right in his brutal and honest sentiment that war is dirty business. Even if he’s being mean to Katie and slapping Sergei over letting Saji live, he has yet to do something awesomely evil. Again being a jerk is not the same as being a crook, and at least Lindt is not lying to himself about what the nature of his job is. Even if he isn’t the nicest guy around he’s the kind of SOB lunatic like Patton you call upon to win a war, he’s not a pleasant bloke, but he does his job and doesn’t suffer from emotional turmoil in the heat of battle. There is no substitute for victory after all, nor is there room for second place. War was declared by Kataron 3 years ago, and the Federation would be dumb for wanting to play nice and losing.
i so want to join the A-Laws now… Space Loli and Rich Ojou-chan mecha pilot, DO WANT.
Hell yeah yuri three way up front, A-Laws rule…what was that Bob?
I see Captain Ginin is capable of sarcasm as well…
Speaking of Kataron it seems that after a scant year they were already hostile to the Federation long before the A-Laws were formed given how the latter are still making solicitations and expanding from their one ship. It seems that unless the A-Laws had been a useless department since the Federation was formed, that they were formed in response to Kataron arming itself. Kataron looks less and less innocent and benign given how they have been amassing weapons for the better part of three years and are accepting deliveries of weapons and equipment from the Nena Express. Thus far, despite the propaganda that they are heroes, they have been the guys using kiddie meat shields, and spending vast amounts of money for arms rather than peaceful reconstruction. As the show lumbers on I am getting less sympathetic to Kataron and more supportive of the A-Laws how have not killed a single kid with their “evil” automatons. Klaus seems wary of CB as well and now Lyle will be spying on CB for him.
To DUEL!
I am going to cut across their axis and try and draw their fire, get set up for your attack run Gold 1.
Not only is yellow full of lose and fail, but so is the ship it seems.
As I have said before the A-laws just get more awesome, Katie soldiered on after the blue on blue in stark contrast to how Sumeragi dealt with her loss through blaming the world, booze, and Billy. Ginin is not bothering with the pointless sophistry of war, Lindt is being brutally honest about the nature of war, and Soma has gotten out of her civilian mindset. Louise is getting better as time goes on, in the past she was one of the more annoying aspects of the show, but now not only is she taking pointers from Ginin’s school of grunt suit piloting, but is eager to avenge herself on the hated CB terrorists who killed her family. I like how Louise hooked up with Soma and look forward to them being best friends if not yuri friends. Andrei seems smitten with this new and improved Louise, I can’t say I blame the guy seeing as how he’s showing more interest than Saji ever did. Louise found her answer as Saji still searches in vain for his. Mr. Bushido is probably a bigger asshole than Lindt at this point given how he showed up late and was no less disrespectful to Katie than Lindt. At least Bushido Bob is a good as he says he is. Ginin’s handling of Mr. Bushido was masterful as he stopped Katie and Bob from duking it out (Katie would have won by the way). Ginin is fast becoming the Machida of this series for being badass and awesome given his short life expectancy. So far Captain Ginin is proving his worth by being a mediator, ace, and a leader who did not abandon Louise. Hopefully Captain Barack “Badass Normal” Ginin will live longer to make sure that Lousie never become s a pile of lose and fail and that Mr. Bushido does not get his face re-arranged by Katie for his insubordination.
This Louise is so much better than the one from S1.
This Bushido Bob Cosplay really cuts into the awesome factor, still I guess it is most befitting of Jihad-kun to get beat up by the most silly Char clone to date.
Even if Soma Smirnov sounds silly it still looks great, still Soma x Louise 4TW!
The absence of Patrick and Prince Ali was lamentable, but at least the A-Laws are starting to push towards excellent evil by slapping Wild Bear. Still the A-Laws are darker edgier cops for the simple reason that they did not kill a single kid while annihilating armed Kataron members. Coupled with the fact that it was not entirely unjustified for the simple reason that it was because Sergei let Saji live, the A-Laws are still leagues away from being the new Titans. It would be different and interesting if the A-Laws never become the new Titans and everything is really just a proxy war between Ribbons and Ms. Wang. Still I remain cautiously optimistic given how the kids were spared and the sympathy card was then wasted on dead terrorists. I really want to see Saji dead to kill the lame strawman arguments that have been put forth about war; it is hideous hypocrisy to decry the horrors of war and yet promote some idiot interventionist military policy as a means to achieve peace.
Still next time we are in for a stranded island ep for Haptism and Soma. Given how these have played out in the past I confess that I am not looking forward to it. Not only have the recent marooning eps been less than stellar, but this further delays some awesome Prince Ali action and keeps Patrick away from Katie. If they try to go serious with Haptism and Soma I prophesy that they will be doomed to fail yet again, romance has never been the strong suit of any Gundam series. The tolerable ones have played out like fairy tales while the recent ones are well…forgettable.
Calawain’s Fanboyisms

I’m back to normal writing mode this week after I was sucked into Crusader’s propaganda mode for last week’s episode. I did enjoy myself, however. First off I’d like to point out how hilarious it is that Tieria is going around slapping people, because as I’m sure you’ve noticed, he’s quite feminine looking. Saji certainly deserves it, and more. I do like the point Tieria was making, that people like Saji who swear it has nothing to do with them and run away are big fucking pussies who mess things up for everyone else.

Ah, your tears of soul-crushing despair taste so good. If this show has accomplished one thing, it has completely and utterly ruined the life of the most annoying character in the show. First off, I generally hate male characters past middle school age who refer to themselves as “boku.” Especially ones who say it like such a wimp. For a good contrast, look at Suzaku from Code Geass. Now I don’t like his character, but at least his bokus were manly for the most part.

Whoa whoa whoa! Taken out of context that could mean something really right and/or wrong! I’m not sure whether to praise or berate Setsuna.

Backstory?! Nani?! Mannequin and Sumeragi were super tactical geniuses and Sumeragi got her boy toy killed because of misinformation and her tactical decisions? Dai shokku!

I DUB THEE THE CRYING EPISODE

Otome da! Oh man, the other week I mentioned a Dickhead Son of Bear and Loiuse hookup in jest due to the OP, but Sunrise does not disappoint. How freaking hilarious would that be. I love you Sunrise.

Yes, shoot at Louise! Oh god the awesome hilarity of this episode did not cease, even as it neared its conclusion. Son of Bear will bathe in Saji’s despair whilst boning Louise with a smile. That is my fake prediction.

All the emo and boku-ism was killing me this episode. Seems like all the gundam meisters are getting their own kind of battle-lovers eh?
graham-setsuna
schizo-white hair
louise-saji????
sumeragi-mannequin
I hope to see Tieria meet his genderbent self later on.
Honestly the Federation should hire Crusader for propaganda. They would be even better at churning out the positive rep. I’m not sure about the Ali not killing anyone thing though. I mean sure its Gundam, but I have to assume blasting away at a city killed someone along the way. Be it some guy stuck in his house as it collapsed or someone actually hit directly.
Anyways I’ll be looking forward to when we’re past the Saji falling apart stuff. It may be necessary for him to move forward, but wow its tough to actually watch.
I’m hoping for some
ShinnSaiji emo time after he or someone offs theDestroy GundamLouise.God yes! I love this show, but Saji is approaching Katz/Hathaway levels of fail.
i think Louise should accept Andrei, anyone’s an upgrade from Saji.
@lelangir
Here her comrade, Saji is really dragging this show down with his strawman antics. According to spoilers Tieria “wavers” when he meets Renge according to the snippet translated by 4chan.
I hope Louise kills Saji and ends up with Soma.
@FlareKnight
I do not deny that Prince Ali has killed many Azadistani infidels in his quest to liberate his homeland. However, since Prine Ali is working directly for Ribbons and not the A-Laws it cannot be said that the A-Laws have killed children, as clearly all were alive and well after their masterful raid into the lair of the hated enemy.
Right now even as Saji is falling apart it comes with such awful delivery that it grates even more upon my ears. I hope Louise makes quick work of him.
@Haesslich
Come now comrade, letting Saji live while killing Louise? That is not right, not in the least I do not want another Shinn Asuka, rather I would be delighted if Soma and Louise got together instead. besides Louise is actually redeeming herself after the debacle she made last season, Saji seems intent on digging a deeper grave for himself.
@Mechafetish
Saji is the anchor that drags down this show he’s insufferable yet provides nothing of benefit to the series, at least Bushido Bob is kicking Setusna around in cosplay.
@shirokiryuu
Indeed Andrei would be an upgrade over Saji, but Soma, ah that would be something worth celebrating.
So it’s okay to kill people as long as you don’t kill the kids? Interesting.
I don’t think any fraction (CB, A-LAWS, Kataron) in this series is supposed to be seen as good or bad. Otherwise, they wouldn’t develop Louise’s and Soma’s characters that much (not to mention the meisters and Shirin).
Unfortunately Crusader’s pro A-LAWS propaganda and exagerration has reached saturation point for me. Time to find a new hook there cause Ribbons is going to be knocking you off your feet in that regard in one of the upcoming episodes. Or so I’ve heard….
And you know I have nothing against Saji personally and I do sort of pity the guy as a character who has had everything taken away with him, but even I’ve got to ask, what is with all the extreme screaming on his part this episode. I mean, if there’s any sort of emo going on then it’s actually screamo. Really hope he pulls it together as even if you pity someone, nobody needs to see that. In any case it looks like he managed to hit rock bottom last episode and slowly pull himself together this episode. I’m thinking if he finds a new home on the Ptolemaios II it’s going to finally help him find the resolve he needs to let go of the past that is making him the extreme screamer that he currently is. Baby steps, but there’s nowhere to go but up. Character development is character development though so I’ll take it over them just killing him off and being done with the matter. Truth be told though I’m all for them taking the focus off of Saji for the next set of episodes.
Please Crusader, give us your thoughts on MacArthur too. This should be worth a wall of text at least.
Hey Crusader, you say the A-Laws didn’t kill the kids as if they were actively trying to avoid doing so. Had it not been for Lyckon, the killbots would have indiscrimanately killed everything in that base. And that’s another thing: was there any real reason to actually murder everyone in the base? There fighting capability was reduced to zero when the MS were shot down. There’s a line between casualties of war and whole-sale murder…
@Jayers
Of course the A-Laws killing armed Kataron members is permissible, they were enemy combatants in a war zone that is not contrary to the rules of war as they are now. In our time it is not permissible to kill unarmed people. Kataron was armed and firing back, that is not exactly a massacre it was more like Kataron was caught with its pants down and did not have the good sense to surrender or shoot straight. War is filled with contradictions, in fact a .50 cal heavy machine gun and Barrett sniper rifle are inhumane if used on infantrymen, but they are permissible weapons to be used on an enemy vehicle containing people… Like any set of rules the rules on war are quite interesting as they say. Nevertheless for having zero civilian casualties I think the A-laws fought fairly and valiantly. Kataron chose war, seeing as how they were routed in short order they did not seem to respect the fact that war is dangerous business.
Perhaps the A-Laws are not meant to be evil, and as it stands they have been behaving well and remained professional with the occasional asshole acts. I hope you are correct it would be much more interesting if it was essentially a proxy war between Ribbons and Ms. Wang.
@Kaioshin
There you go again. Ribbons has had little screen time to do excellent evil because your dear Saji has been sucking up airtime like a greedy little bastard. Even that prima donna Mr. Bushido has not been so arrogant as to suck up airtime away from Ginin. I have little trust in Tieria’s bullshit or Klaus’ speeches, though you are free to go elsewhere and find a blog that will promote the CB and Kataron agenda. The Federation and A-Laws ought to have some support given how skewed things have become when a rout of the armed group Kataron becomes a war crime on the level of the Rape of Nanking. In the end the summary is inconsequential if you watch the episode, you are free to skip of course, but quite why you elect to read something you have already deemed not up to your gloriously high standards is a mystery to me. Perhaps you are masochist after all…
Character development is a funny thing, Saji has been sucking it up liberally and frittering away his screen time crying about his pathetic state. He remains ever the victim and strawman for Tieria’s preaching. Louise had just as bad if not worse an ordeal during these four years. The difference is that Louise chose to stop being a victim, while Saji chooses to remain one at the mercy of the weakest Gundam Pilot in recent memory. It’s episode 6 and Saji is still unable to pull a trigger, that is not development or improvement that is stagnation of he most vile sort. It would not be good for the series as a whole if these string of Saji crying sessions continue.
Whole books have been written about Dugout Doug and his huge ego that earned him the ire of most of the Allied Military, all I can say is the man had crippling problems of ego and was capable of great arrogance. Suffice to say use your own good sources and enlighten yourself on MacArthur.
@Anon
Given how there were no casualties among the children it cannot be said that they intended to kill them… After all none of them knew about the heinous kiddie meat shield that Kataron was holding in reserve. Coupled with an automaton’s short life expectancy I doubt they intended to go beyond the hangar bay, and what business do children have in a hanger full of weapons any way? Moreover those children had no business being there in the first place. The A-Laws operated under the assumption that everyone inside the facility was an armed member of Kataron, if the children were killed it would have been due to faulty intelligence that failed to pick up that Kataron was hiding behind unarmed children and not due to the A-Laws wanting to kill children. A clerical error is as without compassion as it is without malice.
Given how it was a hit and run operation the automatons were only meant to make a mess of the hangar bay. They intended to finish the job later once Ginin and his group arrived to deliver the killing blow. What was a raid turned into a wild success for the A-Laws, it is not they who should bear the burden of blame for the incompetence of their Kataron enemies. Had they intended to take the facility there would have been a larger force used rather than the fighter sweep that was initiated. This is after all a war and mercy will be given to those who wave a white flag as a sign of surrender, given how there was no gesture of surrender Kataron signaled its intentions to fight. The Germans in the Falaise Pocket were being mauled, but in war you cannot let up, and it was because some one on the Allied side let up that 100,000 Axis troops made it out to prolong the war. The fog of war dictates that you never know you enemies exact disposition and as such until they surrender you treat them as a fully functional fighting unit. It was precisely because the Allies underestimated German strength in Holland that the debacle at Market Garden occurred since the Allies only expected old men and young boys and not battle hardened veterans. This is a war, and as such we should not be surprised that the A-laws are over estimating Kataron’s strength.
A commander has responsibilities to their own men before they have any towards their enemies. I am sure that had the Feddies stormed it with infantry that the casualties would have been greater as many Feddie soldiers would have died as well since the casualty figures for fighting in tight confined spaces have been immense in in the past. Urban combat is about as bloody as meat grinders get.
Saji crying ? MOAR PLEASE !!!! Also , more bitch-slapping…
Agreed that Saji has to move beyond the extreme screaming, but it looks like maybe, just maybe with his decision to lend a hand in real combat that he is finally FINALLY on the path to getting there. Like I just said though, I will shed no tears if he’s not the focus of the next 10 or so episodes at least. Cause personally I would have opted for more time to be spent on Setsuna, Soma, Allelujah, Sumeragi and Katie over him.
Saji has to be the most useless character in this show… no wait Marina is. At least Saji managed to get some rebel army routed. Marina managed to… cry yet again.
@Zentari
Indeed Saji needs a real good slap as tieria lacks the upper bodystrength to deliver a proper one.. May Louise give Saji a sound trashing and ultimate heart break by kissing Soma, failing that kissing Andrei would be acceptable.
@Kaioshin
I will not hold my breath for it and hold little hope in Saji’s marksmanship should he even get the cojones to pull the trigger. At least Louise got over her fear of Gundams and was able to pull the trigger in her first sortie.
@Epi
Indeed Mariana is more that useless, but even if the terrorist of Kataron have been routed the price of Saji’s crying is at times too awful to hear.
One thing I also thought about was how the episode leaves Ali looking a bit silly. Since Setsuna just flies off after it sounds like Ali is talking to himself quite a bit. Well guess if your working by yourself and blowing up buildings a bit of self-conversation might be necessary to pass the time.
Do think the A-Laws could have covered themselves a bit better with the base annihilation bit. After blowing up the mobile suits there wouldn’t be much resistance. Send out a warning to surrender or you’ll level the base. Making the clear point that a missile barrage or automatons wouldn’t be taking any prisoners. If they feel like resisting further then you’ve got reason to go ahead. But of course that would open up a chance for Kataron to theoretically use the kids there as shields to hold off an attack (assuming anyone in A-Laws is bothered by killing little kids). On the other hand no reason to fear that if they don’t know there are kids there in the first place.
Yeah I am not sure why Ali spared them hopefully they will show us why, but alas it seems Soma and Haptism will be playing Gilligan’s Island next week.
The thing is if they gave a warning then Kataron would have as you said liable to have declared that they have hostages. Second if this was a police operation and not a fighter sweep then giving Kataron a chance to surrender from the outset might have been better, but as it was a fighter sweep broadcasting threats and demands for surrender would have tipped them off and given Kataron more time to prepare a better defense putting the A-Laws grunts at risk. Still given how many Mobile Suits Kataron had in the hangar surrender was probably not going to be forth coming, after all they still had weapons and probably thought that they stood a chance. No one is going to surrender if they have any hope of winning. Only when a person is convinced that he is beaten will he surrender. No, I do not think giving an ultimatum would have resulted in anything more than Kataron manning the the harpoons and emplacements and sortie what suits they had. Surprise is still very much a part of war you don’t give ultimatums unless you are reasonably sure that the other side is partial to terms. Even if I out number the other guy 100 to 1 so long as the other guy thinks he has a chance he’s not going to surrender. Given how Katie and Soma still get quasy when it comes to battle killing for the sake of killing is not their modus operandi. Then there are the prisons that they have, which leads me to believe that surrender doesn’t mean death and that they rather arrest a Kataron member than kill him given the choice. Remember Kataron thought they were safe in their impregnable undiscovered fortress so long as they believed they were hidden and impregnable then they would be lax. In a war you take advantage of such things, all is fair in love and war after all, modernity has not changed that.
The A-Laws are fewer in number and thus intimidation through a show of force is not possible, rather striking hard and fast and then letting their enemies decide on surrender or death seems to be standard procedure. It is again a wiser method than truing to bluff all of the time. It’s not like the Allies told the Germans at Normandy to surrender prior to D-Day, and had they done so it would have been at best bloodier than it was if not a wholesale failure.
So Ali was talking to himself and hasn’t seen Setsuna. At least that’s how it looks.
I’m not angry on Saji.
Lindt slapped Sergei – that’s made me angry.
Kati should punch Lindt or her fists, I mean gentle hands belongs only to Patrick.
That Emilio makes me worry about Patrick.
“Hell yeah yuri three way up front.”
Nope, sorry Crusader, never gonna happen unless you pay some Yuri doujin artist to do it.
Don’t tell me, Smirnov Jr. will steal Louise’s heart?
I feel sad for Saji on that…
Saji, don’t you know that blind idealism doesn’t really work? Deus Imperatrix Haruhi, someone needs to set the young man straight, before he gets himself or someone else killed.
A little off topic: Comrade Crusader… It took you THIS long to realize how brutal the new options in the SM Codex are? Admittedly, many you have to pay through the ear for, but there are some recent lists that are many levels of pure and unadulterated PAIN.
Take the Shrike + Infiltrating and Fleeting Assault Terminator Squad of Doom… Or the He’Stan Flamer/Melta Roast… Or the KHAN Outflank Biker Brigade… Or Kantor’s Sternguard Spam…
Or (my personal favorite) the Librarian with Gate of Infinity/Force Dome with Sternguard squad… Combined with Scout Bikers with Homing Beacons. Turbo-boost bikes toward squad you want to hose. Gate to location (Homing beacon prevents scatter), let loose with rapid fire goodness (choose your special rounds too!), while the bikes turbo-boost to another location. Force dome when needed. Rinse and repeat.
As I mentioned, the only mitigating factor right now is the fact that, to get some of the goodies, you have to pay a LOT, as well as cough up the points for the Special Characters that give the rules. The options got reduced a bit, but it’s not stopping enterprising players like yours truly from coming up with stuff like this:

Kataron/CB propaganda = FAIL! Seriously, all those fanboys(terrorist sympathizers) from last week decrying that the Almighty A-Laws killed kids totally ate the shovels of BS that they were being feed, smiled and asked for “moar please”.
Katie needs her Patrick, she seems unfocused without him around and it seems to be affecting her objectiveness. Wild Bear… you disappoint me. He must be looking more forward to retirement, writing a new book and spending time with his new daughter. Until I see other wise, the Wild Bear has lost his appetite for the “Good Fight” and is looking to pass the burden to the future generations.
Ginin is living up to the awesome expectations we have been putting on him. Strict squad leader that wants his people do their duty and take names (check), values the lives of subordinates (check), believes in himself and goals (check), knows when to step in between squabbling higher ranked officers to keep them focused (check). Man I’m torn now, but not for what people are thinking. Should Ginin get a new suit (which would elevate him to a “named” pilot), or keep his squad leader, non customized, Ahead.
Oh and btw Setsuna STILL = no skill. He has the most hax suit on the show right now but he still has to resort to using the Trans AM? You’re right comrade Crusader, he deserves to get spanked by the most ridiculous Char clone in existence.
Well at least there’s no more “I am gundamnu” lines from Setsuna. . .although that was replaced with “waaaaaah life isnt fair” crying from saji EVERY EPISODE!
Id rather have “I am gundamu” than saji the fleet killer.
P.S On the kill board saji should be in second place after prince ali. . .
The collateral dammage from his stupidity rack up kills
and the ppl ali killed in azadi should add to their kill count
also
Saji should get the “unitentional kills while still being a huge pussy medal”
man if the kids had been killed that would be extra bonus points for saji putting him maybe 5 point behind ali only becuase ali is gAr.
Another Zeta Gundam story with a Gundam Wing twist:
Bright = Col. Smirnov
Emma = Soma?
Kamille = Saji
Tieria = Wu fei
Allelujah = Quatre
A-LAWS = Titans
Kataron = Karaba
AEUG = Celestial Being?
blah…
Sumeragi = Britney?
a-LOLS!
Saji is totally awesome now.
He might be a pussy, but that pussy caused lots of deaths for Katalon. Huzzah!

^Name: Let’s do it.
God, I love seeing Saji getting slapped around. It’s hilarious, and there needs to be more of it. He’s damn annoying. If Sunrise doesn’t kill him, I will
The next episode, I’m looking forward to it. Allelujah is one of my favorite characters. It’s good watching to see him be all emo.
It’s a real pity that the Tieria slap was so weak. Ranka slapped Sheryl harder and she had no business doing any slapping. A slap in Gundam is powered not by the arm muscles, but by righteousness.
Screamo indeed. It was painful to endure, and I agree that given the large cast this is a great waste of screen time.
This is what kept me from liking Gundam more than I feel I should I think. As much as it’s spoken of as an essay on war, it’s as much as an essay on coming of age. And characters come of age with a lot of screaming and breaking down. It’s easy it pick on Saji because he plays the victim, but it seems to me that he’s cast in the ‘play the victim’ role until further notice. It seems like a great waste of writing to spend all that set-up in s1 just for him to play the victim.
If he’s going to be a game-changing character before the end of things, then I should deal with the disappointment right now so as to enjoy whatever of 00 that does not revolve around Saji.
What this lacks is a Brightslap.
Unless Sumeragi wants to do it again. XP
What??? That F***in emo saji is still live around and get slapped everywhere, Damn Sunrise I wish he dead sooner in this show…
This Season 2 Lacks of Prince Ali, I miss with his desire and action for destruction.
it feels like i want join A-laws too, coz when i see mature lovely space loli and kirei Ojou-chan louise standing together and is so Moe, Kawaiii, Sugoi…
But Still.. I very disappointed with Setsuna with his superior unit he cant rape mr. crazy cosplayer bushido-bob. and i think his gundam jesus impressions has failed coz setsuna cant unite his feelings with Gundam….(Renton and Eureka Did well with nirvash)
@sacchi = Good Sc.shot, But too bad shirin didnt want to do it, coz setsuna has been impure the purity of princess poverty……
@Icelogue = i think hallelujah will return with his ice cold killer instinct… but if allelujah condition is critical and goes into near death state during the battle
@Ghost lighntning = Ranka is bad at slapping, and sheryl do the right thing for slapping ranka…, and i hope saji will go to the path of manliness after 1st encounter with louise ojou-chan
Finally got the chance to watch all the episodes (my display got busted…most likely excess use but well) and…CB’s uniforms suck hard, really, the one who designed should burn in hell. Impressions: I DIG Louise starting this ep., she’s become sooo bitchy (and I think short hair fits her better), Setsuna: in the end hasn’t changed at all, he’s still a sucker; Lyckon: yeah he rules, he sucks as a sniper/marksman but has balls to kiss Feldt and invite her to hsi room so quickly; Tieria: gay, enuff said; Al: sucks without Hall, hope that by some strange miracle he gets back; SoMarie: liked her better on loli….T-T
more on that later, whenever I have the chance to use a damn pc again >_>
@lilu
My anger over the slap passed once Saji started crying, come to think of it I might have slapped Wild Bear myself for letting Saji torment us some more. Emilio must have been some idiot, Patrick will never suffer from such a fate for he is nigh unkillable.
@SoSo/Karin lover
I am sure there is one out there somewhere…
@Roland
Louise deserves better than some loser cry baby. Andrei is at least better than Saji…
@Myssa Rei
I prefer that Saji die now rather than watch the arduous process of having to set the bastard straight.
Excuse me for being poor…even without your sockful of heroes the combat tactics and combat squads special rules are already Godly, and the sheer amount of variety would make any other army envious. You guys get to mitigate more dice rolling than anyone else in the game, be happy you have no less than three special rules that allow you to escape unlucky rolls. And they shall no no fear, indeed.
@Square
Indeed the lack of kid kills for eh A-Laws was awesome, shows how CB and Kataron are insipid liars that cannot be trusted because they all take intel from Ms. Wang. Wild bear needs to get back into the fight to save his daughter from the predations of Hannibal Haptism. Ginin is will have much to teach Louise, badass normals 4TW!
Yes Patrick needs to come back to mitigate the amounts of suck Saji has been piling on. I am sure Katie would be happier than having deal with Lindt all by herself. Setsuna is unworthy of Gundam 00 Bushido Bob makes him look foolish every time, worse still Setsuna actually ran away from him.
@Excalibaa1!
The Board only counts named victims for the sake oof having easier counts otherwise it would be like using Setsuna numbers in going straight to over 9000 after seeing only one Gundam. Sorry but there have been no numbers given for the number of faceless dorks that have been kill. I’ll add the achievement but not the numbers.
@Roland
You forgot Ali = Yazan.
@sacchi
His crying killed all of that awesome and his resolve to protect the terrorists once again made him full of lose and fail.
@icelogue
I cannot wait to see Wild bear tear Haptism to pieces for assaulting his daughter.
@ghostlightning
Tieria is a weakling Ranka has more muscle mass due to Zentradi blood. Saji is the anchor that weighs down this show, I hope he gets killed or put on a bus so we never see him again. I think that at this point he’s just salvageable, shaking behind the trigger like that. Louise however has become more awesome from her lack of Saji in the four year time skip.
@Ominae
We have upgraded to the Katie punch and it seems that Lindt is in need of one.
@Dark messiah
Death to saji! Prince Ali will hopefully be making more of an impact, but for now since Setsuna cowered before Prince Ali and is a traitor to his people, God punished Setsuna to an eternity of having to be bested by Bushido Bob every time he sorties. SomaxLouise forever.
@xrampage
Hope it works out with your PC.
@Crusader – Yeah, That Bushido-bob give setsuna a though handicap everytime he sorties. As we know, Bushido-bob Harbors deep feeling for Gundams, especially Obsessed and infatuation to setsuna with his failed gundam jesus power…
God never give the power to setsuna since he runaway to CB and become infidel also traitor for his Motherland.
Seriously, The Great Ace personality that i’ve seen so far in various mecha show is Kawai Alto Hime-sama..
By the way….
Well, That surprising me Gundam 00 season 2 turn into Yuri relationships all of sudden.
ShirinXMarina
SomaXLouise
WangliumeiXNena
I admit it SomaXLouise so cute when they are together… Vote for them, yes we can
I’m just gonna say that Lindt just sign his death warrant and he’s a pussy for not only just slapping Wild Bear, but instead he just should have punched him, what a damn pussy, I guess he have no balls or he doesn’t know to ball up a damn fist……………. anyway back to my rant to Saj’s, please Sunrise don’t let Saji become another Domon Kasshu, I don’t know why I brought him up, he may go that level Louise starts to sortie for Wild Bears son’s to shack up, matter of fact I’m Wild Bear preggers Louise than gets shanked by Saji and that will set up Saji and Louise to die, but still I don’t know why I compare to Saji to Domon in G-Gundam. But I see where this will go anyway!
why want Saji’s death ? There is still hope for him. I’m sure he has it in him to get a Meister killed, by wanting to protect Louise or something dumb like that.
Will there be a Katie kick and an uppercut too? XP
@Dark messiah
Indeed Alto hime is one of the few mecah pilots these days who doesn’t fit the mold of typical. Long may Bushido Bob make Setsuna look silly in his all powerful Gundam 00.
Soma xlouise is much preferable to anything with Saji and Haptism. Both Saji and Haptism are full of lose and fail Hal was fun, but he’s dead and gone now…
@Highman
Lindt will dies sooner or later, but Domon is no Saji. Domon Kasshu belongs to a hot blooded school of mecha pilots and his lines are AWESOME. At least Domon never cowered from a fight, nor did he have problems with fighting. THE EAST IS BURNING RED!
@dohrnaira
We shall see if Saji is going to get some more people killed, but i doubt even his stupidity can kill a meister most have plot armor, except maybe Lyle.
@Ominae
One can only hope…
I predict Louise eventually finds out about Nena’s minor role in completely obliterating her family and friends, key word minor. Then we kick off a crazy bitch fight between two whacked out characters.
And seriously, what’s with all the Patrick fangirls. All that dude was get his ass handed to him and suck Katie’s cock to make it up. She probably has him somewhere at home making her a sandwich.
Also, I’m having a hard time believing Soma’s age and maturation speed. Wikipedia put her at age 18 in season 1, during which time she was short as hell and flatchested. Now she’s 23? And has BREASTS? Does the super soldier operation cause delayed puberty or something. If so, does that mean Allelujah’s voice is going to drop an octave? Personally, I just think it’s a mistake, and she’s closer to Feldt’s age if anything.
Man, I love this anime. I watched it twice!
I wanna defend Saji.
I think Saji’s role in Gundam 00 is representing the civilians’ voice in the story. He’s a civilian who has grown up in PEACEFUL times, in an AFFLUENT city, not in troubled territories or else he will think to take up arms to protect his land and self, as portrayed by the kids in ep 6. He does not think he is part of the war and wants only to escape desperately. Others’ fate do not matter to him, only himself. Think of yourself in Saji’s shoes, would you have acted differently from him? I pity him for his wrongdoings. But it has NO EXCUSE for what he’s been doing that has caused many problems for people surrounding him.
However, I will think the massacre of Kataron base is an important turning point for Saji. He is given a hard lesson and is forced to face up to the dark reality of war and has decided to face the reality he has been escaping from. By volunteering to help means his thinking has changed – war does not have nothing to do with him.
Saji will become a better character, not what most of you will think he is. He is still undergoing change, after all. And the first thing for him to overcome is his psychology. He has a gentle personality and is not trained as a soldier so will fear taking lives. He is a character with many flaws and will be exciting to watch him change and cope with the dark reality around him.
Gundam 00 is turning out to be very good in character developments.
