Ender once said that the best team blog for him isn't quite a blog (it's the team-up of Stripey and Zyl), and true enough, that shows how collabs/teams ought to be.

As for our 'team blog', well I agree that we don't really work much as a team, and it's especially difficult when not all the members of the blog watch the same shows, and/or at the same time. I can only blame myself for not dragging them enough to participate in meaty discussions in the community.

I pride myself in not recruiting MOAR members in our blog, knowing well that recruiting members for a blog that doesn't really know what direction it wants to take the blog to [yet] would be more or less disastrous. And I think I'd rather recruit a member who's a real life acquaintance or at the very least, someone I'm comfortable with discussing about animes and the blogging community with, and I don't think a mere recruitment drive will make me find those people. So yeah, there are other ways to increase the blog's MANA, and it mostly happens with GATTAIs with other bloggers.

This is why I don't consider my blog a team blog, since we really don't do much as a team. But I don't mind that at all. :P

Can't think of much to add to the discussion, but thanks for the article: Impz and lelangir got me thinking, and that's what matters. That said, though, I should probably get on my own two feet before I bother thinking about team blogging >_>

whoa...deep.
I think there are many flavors of blogging...but I guess each unique combination has its audience?
Yeah, I mean not all teams are the same? Sometimes they have their star players, or are based on passing etc.
Then again, you can make the "not a team" argument.
anyways...Nice points, kept me reading even though I don't know much.

Hmm... there's a lot of interesting points lelangir brings up there. I think there's a difference that has to be made between 'team blogging' and a bunch of people blogging on the same blog. The latter is done as lelangir has said for diversity of discussion and it's easy for lazy people who will blog once a week or less (and yet still keeps the blog alive). But this also ends up having posts that are fairly unrelated to each other unless you go back and find the previous post from that particular author. I feel that most 'team blogs' are like this, but I don't really consider this an actual team blog. The term, to me at least, should be something like this post, in how it's a collaborative effort between more than one blogger. I guess this could be more of a 'collab blog' but that's what I think a team blog should actually be. It can be harder to do, but not impossible. Just a thought :)

That was a long read. The basic premise I took away from Impz's point of view was team blogging is not the easy way to success, which is true because there is no easy way to success. I agree that a heterogeneous mix of personalities is best for a collaborative blog, as Ryan A aptly said above, to assemble an Ocean's 11 team of sorts. The dominant voice trend seems apparent on all the team blogs I frequent. The dominant voice will emerge and overshadow the other writers, but the supporting cast is still needed to keep the blog interesting.

Well, as for Team Blue's first Round Robin, Impz and lelangir have a diversified entry for best post... So far.
