I think I am starting to see things that aren’t really there…
I am thoroughly euphoric and shit faced from the Super Bowl and intermittently passing out from food coma after walking back with my bike from the bar. Place holder post for now, will update leader board and this post when I sober up by tomorrow afternoon. Congradulations to Super Bowl XLIII Champs, the Pittsburgh Steelers for breaking the record for most Super Bowl Wins the 49ers will catch up someday… One of the best games I have seen, Interception with a 100 yard return, AMAZING. Good job Cardinals for hanging in there and coming back from an 11 point deficit, a Super Bowl first IIRC. Feel free to work teh RAGE HAET for Andrei. Damn chilli fries…I wish I could quit you. (Yeah I like football and my team is one of the worst, sue me)
If you kill someone, if you have do is it somehow better to do it clean with a bullet through the head? Is it some how worse to chop them up with an axe? What if you have to kill ten, or a hundred, or a thousand? What if in doing so you save a thousand or spare ten? What if you save yourself? What is the measure of a man or of his murder? By what insane calculus can we answer questions like these? Should we even try? – Major General Katagiri
Current Standings, I can’t believe Andrei just shot up to the 4th place…
I’ll skip the summary again because I have some mild wrist problems and am in desperate need of an ergonomic keyboard, I also need better meds that Motrin. It was a shooting gallery for the most part and we learned about how much of terrible father Sergei was to Andrei, who later developed an oedipal complex that resulted in Andrei shooting up to 4th place on the leaderboard. It was rather confusing initially in regards to what Homer was trying to achieve, at first it seemed as if he was simply going to blow the Africa tower all to hell and hence the pull back of the Feddie Army, but now right when Kataron sallied from the Africa Tower the Feddies were out there waiting for them. It’s a significant continuity error since by all rights the Feddies were in no position to tear Kataron a new asshole the minute they got out of the elevator. Also how did Divine get into space when Empress was with Katie’s fleet? Goodman ordered it to sortie but at the time it was on the surface. Glaring errors aside it seems that Homer wasn’t going to blow it all to hell only the low orbit station and even then he wasn’t telling Goodman to aim dead center. Given how Memento Mori only dropped a few degrees after it was hit I suspect Homer only gave Goodman the go ahead to blast off part of the station to let it depressurize and kill everyone in it. The High Orbit Station seems to have some how kept the tether up, but whether from broken physics or that the other two towers kept the entire thing up is beyond me as I have no idea how much engineering would have gone into them. Katie certainly thought Homer was going to blow apart the entire low-orbit station but the angle of the shot makes me doubt that even Katie knew what Homer was up to. No one seems to be talking to one another even within the A-Laws.
Andrei is clearly hot for mommy. Also Ginin’s was better.
Mein Oberst you can always call Homer and see how much off his rocker he is…
Peace through Superior firepower.
Given how it seems Homer is ignorant of media manipulation by VEDA the second wave of automatons were probably meant to cut the line of retreat for Hank and his coup plotters, given how no one other than Hank knew what he was really up to and Homer’s automatons were not making headway he probably wrote off the hostages as walking dead. Even if there were cameras it seems Ribbons and VEDA altered them before any one saw them, Homer probably didn’t see them first since there were trust issues between him and the Innovators. I assume that for Homer the Feddie government was not going to give in to Hank’s demands and that Hank would start killing hostages in an attempt to get concessions. Judging by Billy’s statement it seems probably that Homer was going to off Hank and the hostages so that the Feddie Army could storm the tower and leave it largely intact without worrying about who was caught in the middle. I think I can catch what Homer was trying to do even of Goodman is off his rocker, I guess for the original core that formed the A-Laws peace was to be preserved by any means necessary, hence why Homer felt that peace was precious even if Hank decried it as false. So far only 00bama and Ribbons seem to fully understand what is going on with Homer and the A-Laws being played for saps, and why Homer was seemingly ready to resign in disgrace over the matter. No cover up would have prevented the Feddie Fleet from seeing Memento Mori blast chunks out of the low orbit station, and given that there was no evacuation quieting those people who were still around the tower for what ever reason would have been impossible even more so now that the loyalty of the Feddie Regulars was not as sure as it once was.
More like dirt stupid Hank.
Wait why is there still Global Warming? Or is the heated atmosphere between these two the cause?
If so you’re aim was already off…
Since the automatons failed to get a beach head going and were taken care of fairly easily sending in the troops would still have resulted in dead hostages with even more bloodshed in urban fighting. It would have boiled down to bullets, grenades, and bayonets and it would have been slow going. In that regard there wasn’t much that could be done to resolve it quickly, the fundamental problem here as in everywhere was that no one was talking I doubt Homer knew what Hank was really trying to do, and given how Hank never seems to have even wanted to chat with Homer both made some assumptions about the other. As far as Hank was concerned the Feddies were going to off the civilians because they knew too much, when it probably seemed to Homer that the terrorist Hank was just going to kill them off anyways as a bargaining chip against Parliament that refused to negotiate, after all that’s what normally happens with hostages. Even if there was movement of the hostages the logical assumption would have been that Hank was moving them off for later use. Maybe if they met they could have guessed what each was trying to do, but they never so much as even talked face to face.
FLAG service.
We need an Enact based equivalent of Masurao…
For a guy named Hercules he sure is adept at being Wild Bear’s bitch…
Ah well the shooting gallery produced a lot of dust and dead, it did prove at least that when the chips were down the Feddies and A-Laws were willing to work as erstwhile allies with their enemies. In the end though, Hank and his coup will get all the blame along with Kataron and Celestial Being. Hank messed up big time by thinking that he was safe in the Africa Tower, from a strategic point of view the Feddies could not have let the situation drag for long, and loss of the tower would have threatened their energy reserves which were vital to the Feddie economy. Moreover Hank provided a focal point and could have used the Africa Tower as a haven for Kataron, and CB. In fact if Katron was moving equipment into the elevator I doubt Homer and the rest of the Federation can hardly be blamed for thinking that Kataron was establishing a new base with their new terrorist buddies led by Hank. Once taking it through Automaton failed, a long siege would have been costly in terms of blood, money, and resources. Taking out Hank and the hostages would have eliminated the need to go slow and hopefully would have left the coup plotters some pause as their hostages were already dead and could not be used to stop an advance. Still no one seemed to care much about the civilians, for Hank they had to be punished, and for Homer they were already beyond saving even if he tried.
Hank certainly lost most of his manliness after being manhandled.
Behold the power of Saji’s Reach Around.
That’s one bulimic elevator.
GN Archer showed up and boy does it look rather feminine. The first sortie did not rock my world though as shooting a few menacing solar panels is hardly the kind of thing that gets me excited. Maybe it will rock when it kills Andrei. Still I am proud of Louise for being able to follow Katie’s orders, so Ginin has indeed taught her well. Andrei on the other hand was getting too hot blooded and started acting without orders. I can sort of understand how Andrei could kill Hank since Hank was made out to be worse than he was and Hank Hercules was destroying the peace that Andrei’s mum had always wanted. Killing Sergei though was more of heat of the moment thing, let’s be honest Sergei was much more of a father to Soma than he was to his own son, after Holly’s death Sergei didn’t even want to face his son for what happened. Besides for painting Taozi blue Sergei probably deserved to die in Andrei’s view, because Taozi would have been kept pink. Funny how Soma might have smoothed things over, but Marie showed up ran away with her loser boyfriend, and now pretends to have cared.
I prefer GM Cannons myself.
…Really showing Kataron how it’s done.
Good job Kataron. Also no you cannot have it.
I have no idea what Ribbons is trying to accomplish by letting Hank do as he pleased and could have lost the Africa Tower in the process. I guess for an Innovator he feels he has all the time in the world, even if it all went to hell Ribbons could still start from scratch. Now that we know he thinks little of his creations I wonder how many Innovators will turn on him. Maybe Revival can make it out alive if he sides with Katie. Speaking of Katie I wonder what happens now that the Africa Tower got banged up real good, it seems that it did not fall, but the rail link was totaled. As glorious as Katie’s cavalry charge was I wonder why Revival and Care were left behind, also where was Patrick? I would have expected at least Revival to show up but I guess Ribbons forbade them or something. Well it will be interesting to see a Federation that is really out for blood after this, 00bama is going to blame Hank and Kataron for this and Ribbons will be more able to take advantage of the atmosphere of fear.
You have to wonder when CB and Jihad-kun will finally attack the root of the problem instead of siding with Kataron every time they cause trouble. They have known for some time, but given how no one is talking and Sumeragi is not pleading Katie to give her some mercy I trust that CB is going to kill a lot more people before they take on Ribbons. If only they weren’t so dumb, they know about VEDA, Sumeragi knows Katie is no idiot, and Jihad-kun knows who Ribbons is, but still no direct action against Ribbons. Saji is trying to become useful, but right now all he is doing is giving Jihad-kun a power up with a reach around. Moreover where the hell is Prince Ali and Bushido Bob? I can’t see why either would have passed up a good fight. It’s frustrating how two top tier pilots go MIA every time something major happens, Ribbons has them on his pay roll so really what gives?
Next week they do a time skip so they can avoid the awkward building of Anew’s character and her fall into the evil arms of Lying Lyle. Also it seems we are in for more day care. Marina’s statement about her song reaching every one has me thinking that there will be a concert somewhere down the line, it better be epic and there has to be a holosuit.
…Kick your ass.
Looks like Ginin’s teachings have served you well Louise.
Oh no, she thinks like Ranka…
What a waste…
Yeah the tether is still holding…
Andrei goes long…TOUCHDOWN!
Oh when Holly died you sent her off with a straight face, but when hank dies…
Hank definitely, but Wild Bear…?
Well he did remove that lovely Pink paint scheme…
He’s your kid, you tell me…
You taught him patience right?
And you are a moma’s boy.
Go Louise, KILL SAJI, flute raep MARIE!
You sure mommy would have wanted it that way?
Also he doesn’t sound manly when says that.
If only you listened Wild Bear, you could hav still had the loli too ya know…
Those are some lackluster last words…should have been preceded by FUCK YOU.
Oh SHI- is that rule 63ed Corner? This isn’t heaven…
And you thought leaving with you loser boyfriend was going to help matters…

I’d trackback but there’s nothing to trackback about. For shame! Drunk blogging is the best kind of blogging.
This has nothing to do with Gundam 00, but Minami-ke’s bringing out a beach episode. And “LET’S BE FRIENDLY: the Meme” spreads.
@Eej
I spent the night walking back out in the cold trying not to get lost. Don’t you give me grief, I’ll blog drunk again tomorrow just for you.
@Haesslich
So I have heard, need sub…
I’m not really a football fan but even I have to admit that was some seriously well played shit in this Super Bowl. If only they could all be like that. There’s really no game like a close game and that goes for any sport….except soccer cause it’s pretty much always close anyway.
-Football was good, as good as GSP vs BJ Penn so it’s a good week
-00 sucked again, but I didn’t expect much
-soccer is really fun if you play it, it’s completely horrible to watch unless you are a vivid fan
-Innovators suck, Ribbons probably made them much more ghetto than he is
-If not, then no Innovator is a match for Ali period, making him the first evolved human, oh wait that can totally happen in 00
Cardinals should’ve won if not for those really dumb self-inflicting penalties, but the very end where the call was a fumble was a booth official rigging for Steelers. Everyone wanted the Steelers to win, but most of them would rather have them win on a fair call. Also, it’s extremely infuriating how big Ben keeps hacking with his scrambles. So much hacking in one game.
Your 49ers will probably start getting good next year with your coach. I kind of wish Houston would improve on offense and secondary.
I know you have a bias against Setsuna, but how does he have only 1 kill? He took out both Ginin and Divine, along with Alejandro (NO RIBBONS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.)
Oh yes, he also killed that one A-laws captain dude. Had a name, so it should count.
@Kaioshin
You don’t like Football?! GET OFF MY LAWN.
@D=
I don’t follow soccer period.
Sad thing is Bushido Bob and Prince Ali missed out on the shooting gallery.
@EX-Keine
The Cardinals were bleeding yards like crazy from personal fouls, what was really galling was how Harrison was behaving when he beat down on that guy. Otherwise it was a good game in my book.
We’ll see if the 49ers will get better I hope so, but I have been disappointed before.
@Anonymous
I count frags and such with a “shares” system, it took Red Haro, Saji, and Jihad-kun to get three kills, therefore Jihad-kun gets 1/3 for each. That way I am not over inflating casualties and giving due credit to each participant rather than give it all to one, unless of course Red Haro and Saji were offed in which case Jihad-kun can claim their victories should he still be alive at the end. That is why Louise had to split her almost rape score with the unnamed grunts when Ptolemy was about to get a couple new assholes. If you want to count it differently be my guest, but I am sticking with the system that equitably divides up credit and does not over inflate the total number of kills per team by double counting.
We all know that the truth is Corner died of a broken heart when Ribbons dumped him. Get over it.
heck… Emo Saji still totally wimp, Even in battle he still think about not killing humans.
I dunno what to say 00-Raiser succed killed Divine but failed to destroy memento mori. So FISSION MAILED even with help red-haro and Emo Saji.
I think Soma will be back again after Marie burst into rage for revenge of Papa bear.(just another my fake prediction)
@Dark Messiah
A civilian is a wimp because he doesn’t want to kill people? Uhh…
@Crusader: Naw, you can count it however you want I guess, just letting you know it makes all of zero sense. Carry on, friend.
Episode had nice visuals with the shooting gallery, but no much going on in terms of story until Sergei got offed by Andrei (Hank’s fate was pretty much sealed when A-LAWS decided to blast Africa Tower). Football was much better.
@Dark Messiah
The Reach Around from Saji could only do so much…
@Eej
In my book yes, Saji is still moaning about the same god damn things since it started. He’s not exactly a pacifist…
@Anonymous
It makes sense even if you cannot grasp it just yet.
Say three guys shoot down the same plane, did they all kill the same guy three times, or does only one guy die and therefore one guy gets credit? Fact is tallying kills is rather hard you can give partial kills, or give it to only one guy, or you give each guy a kill despite the fact that all of them shot down the same guy.
Suppose Sanders, Karen, and Shiro of the 8th MS Team all blast the same Zaku out of the sky in a barrage, does each pilot get 1 kill? Or does only one of them get credit, and if so who? Or does each of them get partial credit for it? I chose to go with the last option. Hope that helps.
@TJ
The Super Bowl was much less predictable and managed to keep the tension going. It was a great game.
I was kind of disappointed with the way Papa Bear was offed by his own progeny, in what seemed like a serious bout of misunderstanding. Sergei deserved a better send-off (yes, the death flags were raised for a few episodes, but still…), but at least now it gives impetus for the Soma personality to re-emerge for Marie to take on her douche of a ‘brother’.
@Op Pic
How appropriate. The total non-sense rhetoric in this series is sure floating around Gundam SEED/Destiny levels. It has yet to surpass it, however.
@Myssa Rei
Yeah Wild Bear did not get a good death, sadly though I expected as much from a douche like Andrei, though Sergie did have a hand in making said douche.
Soma is dead only Marie remains…Soma would have gotten past Louise easily.
@lubczyk
It was noticeably worse this time even if the rest was good, Empress was sitting on Katie’s deck yet all of a sudden it is in space…
@Crusader: Well, I can understand the logic if Saji and Red Haro were actually contributing to the piloting, but when docked, Saji is a glorified computer technician, so any kills done by the 00 Raiser, in my mind, should go to Setsuna as the actual pilot. But again, your blog, you do with it what you will, buddy.
@Anonymous
Considering how Saji needs to be present for all of Jihad-kun’s kills there is some correlation there. When Jihad-kun was alone he could not accomplish much in Gundam 00, even with Haro he could not take on Hilling Care in a Gadessa. Suffice to say Jihad-kun has yet to prove that he can make a kill on his own against non-cannon fodder.
I think there’s a misprint on the leaderboard. Unless the achievements count for score, 7 and 8 (Red Haro and Emo Saji) should actually be 9 and 10. Still funny that he’s got a higher (named) frag score than half the meisters though.
This episode was absurd. Sunrise really let me down. An orbital tower collapse, or even just the purging of non-structural components, would be the worst disaster since Chicxulub. They shot down almost all of the fragments?
Also, what is the “almost raped” stat and how does Revival have 8 of it?
@Eiras: They shot down the pieces that were headed for the settlement. They didn’t nearly shoot down all the pieces, and there was a smoke cloud covering nearly all of southern Africa. That still counts as a pretty huge disaster to me.
@Acolyte
Fixed it, thanks for the heads up.
@Eirias
They shot down enough of it though had Homer got his way and shot off a portion of the Low Orbit Station judging by the angle it might have been different.
Revival shot clean through Ptolemy, it should have been a fatal decompression, but alas it was almost.
@Amuro1X
What you say is true, but I still wonder what happened to the rest of the grunts…
“The High Orbit Station seems to have some how kept the tether up, but whether from broken physics or that the other two towers kept the entire thing up is beyond me as I have no idea how much engineering would have gone into them.”
As long as the center of mass is still at geosynchronous orbit, the tether will be fine. And the low orbit station is at geosynchronous orbit.
As far as I can tell (from my years of watching sci-fi and associated interests), here’s what happened to the elevator: In the last second before firing, you can see Memento Mori’s firing angle shifting downward. Possible a bit to the side, but it’d take frame by frame view to confirm and I don’t feel like doing that.
I think Goodman originally intended to destroy the low orbit station, and severe the tether at that point. The coup and the terrorists that had joined in support of it would be wiped out, at the cost of the tower falling in much the same manner as we saw.
Setsuna, managed to save the station and the core tether, but the shell was damaged, and several cables that support it were snapped. At that point, the panels(probably for radiation protection) below the break point did not have their weight supported on the one side of the elevator. To prevent the unbalance from harming the tether and the rest of the tower, it began ejecting all parts that no longer had their weight properly supported/balanced, and casting off anchors at the top to counter the change in mass.
The end result is the tower saves the whole, but a portion of it’s radiation shielding is broken up and thrown clear. The catastrophic nature of the MM hit meant that parts that wouldn’t burn up needed to be purged. So you get parts raining down west of the elevator, with lower altitude parts falling right on the cities supporting the elevator commerce.
Apparently developers in 00 consider being in the way of debris from the elevator to be little different from being in a flood plain.
They probably fudged the physics a little bit on the shooting down panel’s part, but as fun as it would be to figure out, I’ve neither the time, nor the degree needed to do so.
I understand that they only shot down panels approaching developed areas. Without “Kira Yamoto” class targeting computers and reflexes well exceeding that of Cylons, there is no way they could shoot down all the debris they did. A good portion of it is at terminal velocity and, necessarily, most of it not oblique to the shooters. (Not that an anime really needs to be sound, engineering-wise).
so who is “82unknownsoldaten”?
I think the original plan for A-Laws was to kill everyone there, civilians, Kataron, and even their own troops(who kinda knew what was going on and were interacting with the civilians). It’s mindboggling how stupid the Innovators are, unless they have complete airtight media coverage to the point of making Stalin look like Athens, as something of this would leak out. I mean half the Federation army probably now despises A-Laws and all they need to do is tell two buddies and bam. So now 1/3 of the world doesn’t have power, thousands dead, A-Laws probably despised by the regular army(atleast anyone with an ounce of common sense), and CB and Kataron take the blame in the media, oh and possible civil war between the Innovators due to Ribbons having a god complex and being too stupid to realize he needs their help right now. If these Innovators are supposed to be smarter than me, I’ll take my chances.
It’s kinda funny how almost all of A-Laws is composed of people who just want personal revenge for grievances and use the cover of the military. I have a feeling that Andrei and Louise are going to hook up as the revenge obsessed couple.
GM Saber rocks my world.
Jesus christ andrei ledouche smirnov, patricide with a beam sabre is NOT how you settle family disputes, he’d better get punished severely for this blue on blue.
that said, the episode was awesome, and especially with so many flags and enacts on the screen, it’s about time they got some decent screen time.
in addtion, 00 Raiser’s beam is the beam that pierces the heavens.
*raises glass* to the wild bear, let his death not be in vain
@Crusader,
Since it doesn’t look like either Saji or Red Haro are gonna get any kills on their own in the O Raiser, why not count them as “allied” with Setsuna the way you do it for the CS-WA leaderboard? Much easier for you, I would think.
Sorry for the double comment, I forgot about this. Shouldn’t Andrei also score a TK for offing Wild Bear, who’s supposed to be on the same team?
@Krono
Actually, if the whole fucking elevator fell onto earth it would be the equivalent of a small asteroid hitting Africa. It would probably have annihilated a good part of the continent and throw up an insane amount of dust in the atmosphere. The autopurge exists to minimize (not eliminate by any means) the potential damage were the elevator to collapse.
If the autopurge system failed then the Earth would really be fucked.
@Krono
I watched it a couple times I see no deviation from left to right or vice versa. Given how Homer is not yet batshit insane I think the idea was to blow away enough of the Low Orbit Station as not to jeopardize the whole Africa Tower, he’s not much of a Feddie Loyalist who spend his career defending their piece if he’s just going to turn around and blow away 1/3 of the Solar System.
Still I suppose quick action by the Feddies in the high Orbit station prevented a total disaster.
@Eirias
In Soviet Gundam 00 what goes down must come up!
@captain crunch
The un-named heroes who fight the Gundams and occasionally win a victory here and there like those un-named Flag Fighters in the Overflags.
@Jarmel
If so we are deep in cartoon evil territory…
Still I think that since the ion cannon only dropped a few degrees in the vertical that Homer only wanted to blow of 40% of the Low Orbit Station to cause a catastrophic decompression of the Low Orbit Station. Billy made it out as if Homer did it to save time and end any negotiation attempts, the manner in which would have landed Homer a court martial. He sounded less menacing and mildly regretful in tone, certainly he was not as giddy as Lindt and Goodman. The man does give a damn about the lives of his men, for him to do an elevator drop would have been contrary to that sentiment. I could be wrong and Homer might be off his rocker too, but I somehow doubt it as there was no lateral shift of MM when it blew. The Africa Tower was still a vital lynchpin of the Federation economy, I like to believe Homer was not batty, otherwise we might be in GSD territory simply because the so called heroes aren’t doing things right, adn the villains need to be cartoon evil.
@blind_dead_mcjones
It was still powered by a Saji reach around, not sure if I can get excited about that.
Wild Bear did not die in style that’s for sure, but maybe with this the days of Andrei desperately hitting on Louise will soon be numbered.
@Ascaloth
Oedipus Rex is a unique TK achievement (for SUPER SPECIAL circumstances), and after this we might be on a PvP server from now on. I prefer to not use an Allied Ranking, it might get too messy given shifting loyalties.
@Eej
My thoughts exactly if Homer wanted to take out the Africa Tower he would have fucked over the very Federation he has fought so hard to protect since the beginning, and since he seems to give a damn about his men it seems rather lame for him to go back on it now.
I guess we’ll never know exactly what the original angle of the shot was but it seems that 00′s saber moved it over horizontally more than vertically so instead of it being a direct shot it was more of a glancing blow causing the anti-purge system to kick in instead of the whole thing collapsing. I miss season 1 where the characters were much more multi-dimensional instead of Louise, Andrei, and Bushido being revenge revenge revenge. If the first season was closer in tone to 08th team(not really but in certain aspects) then this season is closer to Seed.
I think part of that has to do with the team taking some of the stuff from Geass and putting it into Gundam. Anyway I think it should be interesting to see the politcal and literal fallout from this(if the Federation or A-Laws doesn’t get shit for this then the writers are just being lazy). It would be interesting to see if an actual civil war develops and what would A-Laws do and how about CB? Would the Innovators(if they don’t have their own civil war) say fuck it all and decide to reduce the human population to a more manageable size?
I knew Andrei would bring me delicious family drama. Thank you, Andrei. But lack of communication in a family is truly a sad thing.
Andrei also knows that when “you have to shoot, shoot! Don’t talk!”. I hope Louise will act the same against Saji… oh, who am I kidding.
@Jarmel
There was a rather loud drop in the vertical after Jihad-kun hit it, if his huge word did cause a lateral shift then he would have pushed the entire Orbital Ring system to do it. It’s a bit too big of a stretch and also coupled with the fact that if the Africa Tower collapsed as you say Homer would have been trying to colony drop himself…which is pretty dumb though worth of SEED. Louise at least has more well developed reasons for revenge, Bob is fighting for love of Gundam 00 Raiser and nothing else.
If Ribbons hit the reset button now, then I have to say we gave him more credit than he was due.
@mel
It was sad, but I still think Andrei is a creepy guy who Googled Louise…
rule 63 Corner… I can’t unsee it.
@ Crusader we don’t actually know the physics of the Orbital Ring system, MM and the Orbital Tower have to be in seperate areas and I’m assuming if their engineers aren’t total retards then they made it so if one part collapsed then the whole thing wouldn’t fall apart. He wouldn’t have had to push the whole system, just change it a few degrees to the right or w/e and also if he did seperate the whole thing, chances are something would get moved more likely horizontally really rather than vertically. However once again they didn’t really make that clear and it wasn’t a particularly good shot. It seems interesting now that I’m sure a good deal of the civilian population is going to be pissed, I’d know I’d be pissed if I didn’t have power for three months.
If Ribbons faced a full rebellion by A-Laws and his own Innovators I have no doubt he would do a colony drop to shut people up. Personally if I was trying to take over the world, killing 90-95 percent is a good way to start. Trying to control roughly 7-8 billion people would be way too hard.
Hey Crusader, if they actually do an Enact version of the Masauro, should they give it to Prince Ali or pass it to Patrick??
Second Memento Mori brought different outcome.
Lindt dead and Healing alive = first Memento Mori.
Goodman alive and Divine is dead = second Memento Mori.
SERGEI!
Oh, Andrei, you are NR. 1 target of Soma/Marie and if you are target of this supersoldier then you are Alleliujah’s target too.
No one ordered Andrei to kill his father. He has done this by his own free will.
@Czarina:
Patrick can’t pilot mobile suits, because his captain doesn’t allow him to pilot them. And if Patrick will get something to pilot it perhaps will be just his old Enact without any new toys.
“FUCK YOU, ANDREI!” *waves middle finger*
I liked this episode, it was quite epic and there was lots going on.
Everyone knew Sergei was going to die, so I guess this was an appropriate death. Now Marie/Soma is going to fight again, cause she has to kill Andrei.
@schneider
Indeed it seems Sergei went to hell…
@Jarmel
I still think it implausible for the whole thing to have shifted from a beam saber no matter how big it was. If you are right colony dropping yourself puts us in SEED territory. It’s fine if you want to kill off part of the population, but you don’t colony drop yourself to do it…
@Czarina
Patrick, Prince Ali just needs a Nu-Arche.
@Kururu
Here here!
@Epi
It could have been better if they did not set up Divine’s last sortie so poorly, as epic as it was colony dropping yourself is still epic, epically stupid.
If Marie spares Andrei she will be worse than worthless.
Like I said, I couldn’t be sure without a lot more checking than I’m willing to do. Either way, even if MM only misaligned vertically, if it hadn’t misaligned, it probably would still have had a similar result. Destroying 40% of the low orbit station with MM would have still caused the same kinda of imbalance, with the weight of the shielding on the one side not being supported anymore. The only difference would be that the low orbit station itself would likely get purged as well as the unsupported shielding. (Incidently, that was supposed to be “isn’t at geosychronous orbit” up in my last post.)
As much as the personnel in the high orbit station were on the ball monitoring things, the anchored counterweights releasing was most likely still part of the autopurging. If if the autopurge failed, or they’d needed to cut loose remains of the low orbit station, then they’d likely be the ones making the decision. Weighing potential survivors over the needs to rebalance the elevator would be a decision the engineers would be puting in human hands, not a computer’s hands.
Anyways I say that they intended a direct hit that cuts the tether in part because it’d almost be safer than an indirect hit that leaves the tether intact. A direct hit would chop off the bottom most segment of the elevator. Elevator gets lightened, releases some anchors to compensate, done (save for the falling debris, but that’s a different problem). With an indirect hit you’ve got a bunch of unsupported, unbalanced weight swinging around at the bottom of the elevator if the autopurge fails and the high orbit station can’t purge it manually.
You’d also run the risk that if the low orbit station wreckage needed to be ejected to keep the center of mass at geosynchrous orbit the high orbit station commander wouldn’t be willing to do so without a search for survivors. That episode back in season one showed that provisions were made for decompression and such.
The flip side is that cutting part of the tether makes it harder to rebuild things. They might even have to entirely replace the tether cables, which would be difficult, time consuming, and expensive.
She’s about as useful as Ranka too and by that I mean she isn’t.
@ crusader, you have a point, but each to their own.
they’d better be numbered, for everyones sake, at the very least his pilot status should be revoked pending investigation in the next episode.
btw, with the scoreboard is lee zejhang included in jihad-kun’s kill score?
Well Andrei’s caliousness got the best out of him, even though It’s gonna take alot of issues within that he killed his own flesh and blood father and Ali may win second season as well, after no one big kills in the Gundam 00 chart.
There’s a crapload of innovators and random A-laws to die still so it’s highly doubtful Ali will win at the end.
gundam 00 season 2 episode 18 sub is out at Bleach Shippuuden
a-law are the worst force ever i see they are killer machine
