Ah, taking a break from some pre-bar review nonsense to bring you all another installment of Maria+Holic. I’m thinking a poll is due next week so readers can decide on which “girl” in this show is their favorite.

If there’s some joke here with all of these food products as the bringers of disaster I’m just not feeling it. Is it supposed to be funny or just weird? Am I missing something?

Mmmmmm, student council president has always been one of my favorite character archetypes for as long as I remember. Now, we haven’t seen much of this busty drill maiden, but I will have to say I like what I’m seeing so far. Like I mentioned in my commentary on early episodes of Toradora, I’m a big fan of characters who bust each other’s chops. And jabs between Mariya and Ayari have some good potential. I’m crossing my fingers for an episode centered on her.

I didn’t find her story to be particularly interesting, but she looks quite moe here
I giggle every time I hear the Japanese word for bell/green peppers (which I have no idea how to spell). I think half of that has to do with me still being a child inside and laughing at words that sound like “pee” and the other half reminding me of Chiri’s panties in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

I do love how Kanako is trying to BE FRIENDLY with Kiri-san though poor Kanako still has not realized that Kiri-san is playing hard to get and that she has found how to turn Kiri-san on. So sad to see that Kiri-san is playing hard to get, though at least now Ryuuken-sama has decided that being a lesbian is fine and that it would not hurt to BE FRIENDLY with Kanako as well. Soon Kiri-san will be overwhelmed by Kanako’s charm, hell most of her class already is or at least 12 of them. Will Kanako bring change we can believe in? YES WE CAN! Now that Kanako has carried the election on a platform of yuri friendly policies, the motto for the class is “NOW WE MUST.” I salute President Kanako in her new role as leader of the Yuri World. Kiri-san was selected to be Kanako’s Vice President, next election I am going to write them in on my ballot, KanakoxKiri-san 2012! Change you can fap to believe in. Today class 2-A, tomorrow the sophomore class, the flower of an entire class will be delivered from heterosexuality and save then from the likes of loser harem animu males. Yes Kanako is a yuri shoujo and yes it is contagious and will spread like wild fire soon enough.

There is no point in fighting fate Kiri-san, what will be, will be. So it is written, so it shall be.
Ryuuken-sama is also indulging of yuri fantasies of her own and I hope this continues, after all samurai were also known to have homosexual tendencies, therefore it must work for female samurai as well, though someone must inform Ryuuken-sama that as a samurai she is to carry two swords. Mariya gets some additional screen time as well though Calawain and Mariya fans everywhere are not satisfied with the nurse outfit and more student council antics. Given how no sane man could grab a hold of that yaoi stuff I think that Mariya has given up her manhood for good, I am hoping for a gender reassignment for BEST END. Kiri-san does seem to know what she is doing despite the waif pretense she keeps up, clearly Kiri-san wants to take on the dominant role in any yuri relationship, but for now she seems adverse to the idea of letting Kanko be dominant. Things will change though, as Kiri-san did get Kanako to propose marriage. Still Yuzuru and Momoi-chi are keen on helping to recruit Kiri-san to Kanako’s harem. As such at least progress was made through mediation from Yuzuru and Momoi-chi, who can now BE FRIENDLY with Kiri-san, though with any luck I am sure eventually Kiri-san will make a fine switch. With any luck this “go around the right” strategy pioneered by one General James Longstreet, for an altogether different purpose of course. Well at least we know that Kiri-san was stalking Kanako, otherwise it would have been unlikely that Kiri-san would have bothered to verify the living quarters of a classmate, with any luck Kanako can still demonstrate her ability to be subservient to a dominat Kiri-san. Still i hope Kiri-san gives in to her yuri lust in due course.
Soon Kanako, they will all call you their Mistress.

Momoi-chi is ready and willing for a three-some and then some.
Poor Kanako might get bullied all the time (waiting for a delicious ear nibble) and has some problems with eloquence, but nevertheless for knowing what a Virtual Boy is and possibly having owned one at some point I must award her mucho nerd points. At the very least Kanako demonstrates formidable knowledge of gaiming consoles, the fact that she imagines her self in an 8-bit world in the ED makes me love her even more. I am surprised that the UMA or whatever it is has decided to call Kanako mistress, I approve of this creature’s sense of diction clearly it is sentient and intelligent with more LOYALTY than the biggest loser lead of the season, Touya. Mistress Kanako is a most fitting title for the future Yuri Overlord of the school. I love how Kanako’s thought processes are occasionally interrupted by Kanako fantasies, if only they were a little less…innocent. At any rate Kanako ganbatte! Kanako aishteru!

Listen well Kanako, Kiri-san has simple standards for BEING FRIENDLY.
I sense much 8-bit Love in this one.
How many more days will Kanako have to wait for her DSi…

Looks like Kiri’s weirdness is no match for fate and now that she and Kanako are the class reps. Kanako then work her way up the ladder and soon she wouldn’t have to worry about Ryuuken’s rabid fan club any more when everyone falls under her spell.
As for Mariya, she got more screen time in this episode but unfortunately not nearly enough screen time in that nurse outfit. Oh well at least we can always look at Matsurika and her maid uniform.

I recognize that ‘worst and most pressing danger’ food tin from an episode of Moyashimon. If memory serves, it contains Scandinavian fermented herring under high pressure – the tin actually expands from the pressure. The smell …well…
Reverse Nosebleed? That must have been a big turn off for Kanako.
We’ll see if Nanami can put the vice in Vice Student Rep. I want to know what other actions and keywords are programmed into Nanami, specifically which one causes her to flip out in a homicidal rage.

This was a great episode with Dorm Leader and Mariya. I’ve never seen a reverse nosebleed before but that was hilarious. The tentacle monster at the end stroking her cheek was such a great and touching moment. God I really love this show.
