Ribbons makes the impossible possible.
With the war entering its final stage Ribbons decides that he no longer has any use for the A-Laws and blows them all to bits while CB cries crocodile tears for the brave if misguided soldaten who gave their lives for the defense of the Federation. The Kataron cheat finally fizzles out as Klaus loses another carrier with nothing to show for it. Princess Poverty, the kiddies, and Shirin look on gleefully at the debris field where the once mighty 3rd Fleet was. After the blast the remainder limp back to port as Jihad-kun goes off against Ribbon’s ship which is called Celestial Being…indeed the name is as lame as it looks. Nevertheless after amassing a clone army and a an equal number of Gagas Ribbons’ plumb for got to build guns and beam sabers for them so he used these brand new never before seen Mobile Suits for kamikaze attacks, just like how the last one backing 1945 was full of lose and fail this one was just as bad.

While the Gaga proved to be little more than a glorified baka-bomb, Billy had been working hard to create Trans-SPAM abilities and finally broke the game beyond repair as no amount of elegant coding can salvage the ho hum combat against Gagas, and to be honest its as tedious as grinding in an Korean MMO. Thankfully there is still some hope in Darth Louise who has not bought any of Saji’s bullshit of building a world on mutual understanding…I am sure for the goddamn eleven that killing gaijin equates to understanding. While Team Raiser is busy fighting Louise, Care and Revival kick the shit out of Tieria; so much for that secret Seraphim system… Elsewhere Lasse wanting to be an even bigger hack tries to promote Trans-Am, I have to say I liked this show more before Jihad-kun got all red like a fucking communist but whatever I guess we all know what audience they are playing to now. I guess the devotees of Tomino can just stick to UC stuff from now on. Though if you love Trans-Am and thought that it was the best idea EVAR I bet you just jizzed in your pants.

You’d think that by now Patrick would have earned something for his troubles, but I guess marrying Katie was all he ever wanted anyway.
So sad to see that this was to be the last we see of these magnificent vessels.
Nevertheless the unintentional comedy only gets better as CB mooks who never bothered to show up since the last re-supply get blown to hell, man if only they worked that hard when there was heavy fighting before… but what ever more nameless innocent CB combatants dying is a good thing. Sumeragi takes docking lesseons from Kataron and runs her ship aground in the docking bay for no reason really as Feldt and Yellow are no match for the might of the automatons that rushed them, kekeke. Despite the relentless Gaga attacks it seems that the damage modeling in Gundam 00 is sorely lacking as there is nary a paint scratch despite the droves of Gagas striking their hulls. Last and certainly least Sumeragi decides to confront the Automatons with an assault rifle she holds Hollywood style, and who should she see? Why Billy with a pistol…too bad neither can shoot straight.

Yeah it seems Katie beat you to the altar. Patrick is five times the man Emilio ever was, but at least you have Billy…Oh yeah they couldn’t find a bride’s maid out fit big enough for you, no hard feelings though.

One important thing did happen as Patrick was kicked off the server when Billy created his Trans-SPAM hack. Still I believe in the immortal powers of Patrick Colasour though it was nice to see that Katie did care. Unlike Wild Bear it seems Patrick’s “death” actually accomplished something in protecting Katie. Also Patrick confessed again, maybe when this is all over they can finally enjoy their marriage. Also Prince Ali finally got called into the game and what an entrance! No sooner does Prince Ali step onto the pitch that he killed Renge for not being a team player. Lyle thinks that he can escape from the Curse of Prince Ali as they meet one on one. Despite having no upgrade Prince Ali still hands Lyle his ass by taking out the rifle bits, the sniper rifle, and cuts off a leg for good measure, if there is one thing that Prince Ali hates its AWP campers. In the end Marie gets tackled while Haptism watches powerless like a wuss, and Ribbons and Tieria meet one on one again, but given how things turned out last time when Tieria had a gun I don’t put much faith in the dark purple innovator’s shooting skills certainly Ribbons is running 2-0 against Renge and Tieria’s pistol skills.

Well I did call it Trans-Am was the worst thing that ever happened to Gundam 00 first it was simply a hack for the losers of CB (because heaven forbid if they actually improved as pilots), then it was a consolation prize for Bushido Bob when they denied his application for Erupting Burning Finger, and now Sunrise has gone Gaga for their innovation in hax. Ah well at this point it was to be expected, the clone army was little more than a suicide squad, but still it’s a tragic waste of the Gaga which actually looks kind of cool, but who is going to buy a kit with no guns? Maybe it will have a button that blows it up or something. Patrick gets kicked from the server since were to believe that this is SRSFKN business now, and at least we can hope that there will be a pile of dead terrorists by the end. I doubt Patrick is dead since he has survived this all before, but it was nice to see Katie finally voice how much she cares for her loyal Patrick. I don’t give two shits about Haptism and Marie since their plot line should have been killed off some time ago anyway, but here’s hoping that Ali kills them both after tearing Lyle a new asshole. Seeing as how there don’t seem to be any one to fight them unless Bob shows up with a new suit or something, having them shoot Gagas for the next two eps is hardly going to be exciting. Andrei tried to be useful, but because Jihad-kun has become a wuss after Saji had jizzed in his ass docked one too many times Andrei gets to live.

Some other decent points included Katie berating Sumeragi for being stupid and failing at life. Best of all however was that Prince Ali had returned and his opening move was to kill off Renge who was a shitty villain to begin with, since Dark Amuro is all the evil we need. I was giddy when Prince Ali was hacking Lyle’s weapons off. Still since the game is broken I am not ruling out another miraculous Trans-Am since Ptolemy did one all on its own when last time it needed at least one docked Gundam to pull it off. Then there was the running out of missiles bullshit that was miraculously solved. Whatever they are catering to the SEED school of combat now, and it is a shame that Prince Ali did not get an upgrade after all his hard work while Bushido Bob got three custom suits for doing nothing. Ah well next week Tieria proves how he can’t shoot straight, Prince Ali continues to pwn Lyle like a little bitch, Team Raiser and Louise yell at each other some more, Billy wusses out and fails to kill Sumeragi (though I hope the automaton can finish them both off), Feldt and Desu-Yellow sit on their asses doing nothing, while Lasse starts cutting himself because O-Gundam can’t Trans-Am. All in all I have my doubts that they can wrap up everything at this point, I get the sense this will be pew pew lazors with Kamikaze and nakkid time. So unless Ribbons kicks the shit out of Tieria early, my hopes for seeing a Hi Nu Gundam 00 Raiser just dived deeper than the Dow Jones.

Still Bob is the only wild card left so here is hoping for another Masurao variant, if not I want to see Bushido Bob cut himself. Well whatever the reason why Homer and Goodman distrusted the innovators I doubt they will try and explain it now. Still at least no one went shopping.
Leaderboardwise Prince Ali cements his dominance over the rest by more than doubling the number of his kills closest rival the Unknown Soldaten of the Federation. Billy thought that he could rachet up the number of kills with Trans-Spam but only unique kills are counted. More over like the Fett clones it seems that Ribbon’s clone army suffers from the same flaw in that they aren’t nearly as good as the originals. Hilling Care almost gets a kill off Tieria but it seems that plot armor is still in effect, maybe Ribbons can kill steal. Andrei almost gets raped by Team Raiser but since the three of them are taking orders from Saji any further kills seem unlikely.

It seemed everyone could Trans-Am. Louise became more hardcore. Saji became more philosophical with the same words spoken in last ten episodes. Katie was still more superior to Sumeragi . By the way, if Katie was in Sumeragi’s position , she would have already shot Billy.
With the “Attack of the Clones”, who was there to stop Ribbons? The producers had Tieria crash on the moon on purpose I guess.
The next episode is about Setsuna becoming a full-fledged Innovator. “ORE WA INNOVATOR!”

On the good side, they were smart to give the highest budgeting animation section to Setsuna, as randomly shooting at fangs and just posing around Kira Yamato style really does make the DBR look amazing. I mean, I don’t understand the practicality of the shape of the nerf gun he’s using, but it sure as hell LOOKED cool the way he was spinnin around like Mario’s Down B in Smash, except he fires off one hit ko lasers. Sunrise knew merchandising was better if they focused on Jihad over Ali, as no one’s gonna buy Arche considering it’s just an awkward but equally badass version of Sazabi.
Seriously, DBR in some ways does rival Strike Freedom now in aesthetics. A far bigger upgrade than before, where 00 just looked plain awkward with that giant spatula for a gunsword.

Aside from that-while the outside of Celestial Being looks bland you have to admit the interior and its introduction with “Mortify” in the background made it pretty cool.
Actually it reminded me of Halo. He said it was too prepare for meeting other intelligent life-maybe Prince Ali and Ribbons are actually trying to prepare for the Covenant invasion.

So, does anyone want to bet that Sumeragi’s boobs will be able to deflect Billy’s bullets due to the camp power of GN Particles? After all, the closest thing to the invincible power of Haro are Newtype-enhanced boob implants as there is never enough exposure to go around. @JDMFLCL, one can say Ali has been the ONLY cast member to have consistently good fights, so it’s a given he’s the ONLY guy who’d make a good music video in the first place. And Ion Cannon didn’t come from C&C strictly. Starcraft had it too, albeit it did jack squat. But comparing 00 to Starcraft would be the biggest travesty in anime/game history.
Oh, I also realized for the 2009 Spring lineup you guys didn’t bring up Black Lagoon S3, which I’m not sure is happening or not in Spring, but it’d be a shame if no one did it.

That scene with Tieria and Erde, with them defending each other against those blasts, reminded me of this one thesis that alleged homosexual subtext in The Lord of the Rings. More specifically, the one where Sam defended Frodo “like a furry animal… defending its mate”.
The Avatars of the Rocket Emperor failed him in this episode. And then Patrick had to ‘die’ while those self-righteous wankers from CB are still alive and kicking.

i’m probably the odd one out here, but Ali is actually starting to bore me, yes you like close combat, yes your a monster we get it already, that much was obvious since episode 7, and arche looks like it got taken to the crushers.
the gaga units made me laugh, not only are they a litteral redshirt army, but it showed that all bring and divine are good for are being guidance for the gaga missiles, makes me think of those giant missiles steered by grots in 40k.

It’s totally understandable, as this is one of his worse fights to date, probably as equally shitty as his fight with Bro Raiser. But really, what can you do if they choose to make fangs/bits useless? It’s not like the damn things are skillful; we KNOW pretty much that the pilot has ZERO impact on the bits/fangs besides yapping and sending them out. And it would be retarded if he used his ghetto blaster against Cherudim and his gun when they are in an enclosed space.
Excuses aside, you aren’t the odd one out here. I just don’t complain about it because he’s dwarfed by the GaGa squad and the incredibly ghetto battles this episode has. He’s very lucky, because when he gets a crappy fight, he seems to always have something that damn shittier for us to complain about and forget that his fight isn’t as good as it was in S1.
Arche is ugly, make no mistake. It has a bad ass vibe to it, evil even if you want to call it that, but it wouldn’t even have a lick of that vibe without Ali being the Prince he is. You take that POS suit and try advertising it to kids who never seen the show and they sure as hell won’t buy it. It’s the perfect suit for FujiKei. You won’t FEEL bad when it goes BOOM.
Honestly, MS Igloo and 00 S2 prove the point that Japan needs to produce quality Starcraft players or hell even interact with some. If not, do real work and research on wars and figure out how to make wars look less fake. Might be nostalgia kicking in, but I swear UC had at least a few fights where random suits killing each other. You know, like MOBILE SUITS…FIGHTING…in the BACKGROUND? Not just LASER beams CONSISTENTLY SHOOTING THE SAME PLACES in rotating patterns. As it stands though, Sunrise cannot make a good large scale battle. Skirmishes and 1v1s are fine, S2 episode 1 proved that, but god damn.
Only reason Igloo gets away with anything is because one side is always super jobbing and therefore no one gives a shit if they shoot or not, because it wouldn’t dent the damn enemy anyways.
But see? Now I look even more pessimistic, and I was TRYING to be nice.
Oh, I guess I can add in umm…YEAAHHH ALI GOT A KILL AGAIN……and Lyle purposely wastes his Trans-Am while everyone saves theirs so now he has an excuse to lose to Ali if he does! WOOOO. Wait…is that even good writing? Err we’ll go with yes, because I’m being POSITIVE.
Putting all those Trans Am capable GN tau drives into the Gagas was such a waste. It would have been much more effective to just send out a couple hundred Aheads/GN-XIIIs equipped with those drives intead. Then again, it’s every good villain’s duty to let the good guys have a chance… or at least the illusion of a chance until the very end.

I’m sure Patrick is fine. The guy always finds a way to avoid getting himself killed. Thought for sure he finally bought it at the end of season 1 before they showed him alive. He’ll probably show up in a tiny piece that remains of his unit.

Except Lyle would be even more useless with a sword than he is with those useless pistols. About the only person who knows how to swing a melee weapon is Jihad. Fatty Gundam just spams them but gets nowhere, and Orange-Kun just goes waverider suicide attack. Meisters have the combat ability of the water boy who serves Crusader in boot camp. It’s a complete joke.
Patrick can die. Not likely, and honestly it’s a given it shouldn’t happen because there’s no real reason he should die, but this is Sunrise we are talking about. They love to do bad shows.
In fact, if you think about it logically, if Innovators can exist so long ago before Gundams got so damn powerful, Veda should have created a strictly innovator team for CB that is less human and more mechanical and can’t really think on it’s own. You can always just mass innovate AFTER you establish peace. The whole “super plan” of having ONE FRIGGING GUY undergo innovation through gigantic conflicts and massacres pretty much hits the mark that Aeolia was a damn idiot or was trolling the world.
But then if I complain about that, I’d complain about how it’s retarded how the world never noticed quantum brainwaves transmitting from the moon to earth for so damn long. The longer this show stays on the air, the more time we get to figure out how stupid it really is and how badly planned it is.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Gundam 00 isn’t, and almost certainly never will be, as bad as GSD. Destiny just simply had that many problems, and incited that many flame wars.
Wow. Just… wow. I knew this show was screwed a while back, but we’ve reached all new levels of stupidity here. I have to agree with those saying that Sunrise has pretty much given up on any kind of rational tactics.
Trans-Am suicide bombers. There is so much wrong with this idea. Were they at least packed to the gills with explosives? Was it too much to buy them guns? Didn’t get a good enough deal to mass-produce fangs and GN missles (at least these would have been harder to shoot down)? I least I can see why Ribbons couldn’t clone Ali; no fucking way he’d consent to that one. The last time Ali needed suicide bombers he had little kids do it for him.
The colony reveal. So, now that we know Ribbons’ villa is actually the VEDA control room we saw at S1 end, why the fuck did Renge/Wang need to give CB a piece of paper? Wang’s been there. She could have just said “Ribbons lives on dark side of moon. VEDA probably in basement.”
Ramming the dock while knowing that your only defense in there is a shitty O Gundam running off a battery. At the very least they could have sent a few missles in first to clear the room.
If Patrick kicks it, this show lost half of what little redeeming value it had left (Katie being the rest).
why do they bother making suits for tieria, they always fail at the end with their special abilities down to shit. couldve honestly been two more suits for prince ali.

I don’t know why Ribbons cloned Bring and Divine if they only should do kamikaze in something that even doesn’t look like mobile suit. You even don’t need new mobile suits for that – use GN-XIII and Ahead. You even don’t need Divine and Bring – use Haros, automatons, autopilot – the effect would be the same.

Either he loses, an Heros himself to kill Ali, or they grant him more hax to pull off a kill.

Unfair judgment. Currently it is obvious GSD fails so much harder than 00 S2, however, you are not giving it even close to the same amount of time needed to compare them accurately. More so, you must be able to judge from a scaling point, such as comparing GSD’s animations to it’s surrounding anime series at the time, opposed to 00 S2. If we do this from a professionally objective stand point, my hunch is that 00 S2 isn’t that far off from GSD.
More so, GSD is part of the CE era. That enables it more leniency due to the fact that there is no fucking way you guys take CE as seriously when it first started than you did with 00. Hellloooooo splash screens? Everything from high school shojo to completely bishi’d characters pretty much doesn’t allow you to take the show seriously whenever there isn’t a battle.
00 has lots of Bishies too, make no mistake, but 00 is also a show where 99% of the characters regardless of faction look like they’ve never heard of acne or skin problems. You can even take Billy, the hobo he is, give him a haircut and get him new glasses and bam, he’s Bishi material. Can’t do that with CE, where characters are clear cut cool or beautiful or ugly.
S1 for sure will never lose to CE in any way, but S2 is totally different story. They had like, what? 5 or less episodes worth not calling shit? I’d rather see Kira overpowered than Bob become Vegeta.
Michiko – uh.. Mwu didn’t survive WITHOUT the helmet; he just survived a Gundam blowing up around him even as it ate a positron cannon shot. They edited that helmet out of the Special Edition, but showed Rau’s to indicate the latter was absolutely, positively dead. A cracked helmet for Patrick means he’s likely headed down the Rau route (dead, and for good unless they bring out a clone for him).
WTF is all I can say. The clone army was a complete waste. The same thing could have happened with missiles with big engines. SOOOO completely lame.
I give ribbons 1 point for the Gryps 2 reenactment, but minus infinity for using it almost exclusively on his own guys.

More time is not needed to objectively say that 00 S2 is not and won’t be as bad as Destiny. Destiny was just objectively bad. Multiple clip shows, the shopping episode followed by the “life of Meer” episode within the last 5 episodes. Severe overuse of flashbacks on top of the clip shows, shoddy animation, blatant reuse of animation, and footage that grew worse as the series went on, episodes that had the last few minutes of the previous episode repeat for the first few minutes of the episode with slightly better animation, writing that couldn’t decide who to treat as the protagonist, needed an extra episode to remake the “Flawless victory” final episode…
The list just goes on. Then there’s the matter that 00 S2 hasn’t sparked the massive flamewars that accompanied GSD.
The bottom line is that while the jury is still out on how good 00 S2 is compared the other series airing at the same, time, and how Gundam 00 as a whole is compared to other Gundam series, we can already say that it is not the level of failure that GSD was, and time isn’t going to change that. The only thing that would change it, is the final couple of episodes, and they’d really have to work at it.
CRUSADER I don’t know if I said this yet, but you should read if you already haven’t, Red Eyes, then use your powers along with everyone else interested in mecha on this blog to get a scanlation group for the series. I’m sure everyone who’s complaining about S2 will think this series is the shizzle, and most of the content fits your german trolls.
Of course, the biggest flaw is that there’s no hot chix and mostly everyone is either gar or ugly. But HEY.

Multiple Clip shows were a given back in the day. That’s an example of your double standards. You aren’t basing GSD comparatively to other series in it’s era, you are comparing it to 00. No Shit 00 would have raped even Naruto back in the day if it came out at the same time. Doesn’t mean SHIT now does it? You must look at what GSD/CE market is going for, opposed to just satisfying you. What is the purpose of the show, who did they want to appeal to, what kind of story are they trying to tell, how good was their action comparatively to other animes at the time.
Let’s see, from your complaints, which of these do 00 S2 have?

-Shoddy Animation
-Footage that grew worse
-Recap minutes
Everything else that is unique to GSD and doesn’t belong to 00 can also be covered by the shit 00 failed at that GSD doesn’t fail at. You say GSD had two protagonists and it made the series confusing, but I never saw GSD create a Saji Crossroad that took more screen time than Shin’s impulse transformation. You talk about the remake of the final episode, 00 S2 isn’t even at the final episode nor has it existed long enough to consider one.
I mean, let’s poke fun at 00 S2 shit that GSD doesn’t have for kicks:
-Haros that survive lasers and explosions
-Quantum computers that supposedly do amazing shit yet in reality are outclassed by streamline super computers
-Grunts that run on the same ENGINE (BASICALLY) as the main characters but job super fast
-Saji Crossroad
-Confusion on whether coated weapons are stronger than beam weapons
-Super Robots not used to 1/10th their potential
-A stupid setting that doesn’t allow off screen benefit of the doubt to occur
-A time skip AFTER the time skip that begins the 2nd season
-No starwars homage bullshit
You talk about 00 S2 not sparking as much flame wars as GSD? Please. That’s a compliment to GSD. Code Geass is by far the best overall anime of it’s year, R2 included. Anyone who thinks otherwise go look at the TV charts. You can’t talk about figures outside of Japan because one, it’s impossible to calculate, two the show wasn’t even made for foreign viewers as a first priority. With that said, you can bet your ass more people watched GSD in japan than 00 S2. More people, means more bitching. Yeah, this episode was really bad. All Sumeragi’s “tactics” consisted of were “full frontal assault.” Really1? You’d think the staff of 00 has no sense of military strategy.
Of course, this series is beyond saving. Who gives a flip about any of the characters? Outside of Louise and Saji, there’s really no characters that we, as the viewers, have any emotional investment in.
The philosophy has yet again degraded into the typical Gundam SEED Destiny bullshit!!! “We,re fighting for the future!!!” Really!!! How about all the futures of all those people you killed or ended directly or indirectly?
This series runs on the same principal as shows like Kurokami or other Shounen shows – It’s all just an excuse to show giant robots blowing stuff up. It’s no better than pornography or smut films.

Sunrise is just full of wonderful creativity, as if just asking for one of us to join them and friggin boot out all these useless people.
You would think by now, they’d have staff that is purely devoted to keeping continuity and tech details and such, but nope. Only one thing matters, that’s the CHARACTERS. The amazing fleshed out oh so academy award winning CHARACTERS.
Clearly, that’s why they brought these awesome heroes into the show, because without it, gundam just wouldn’t shine. Who the hell would watch a show about robots fighting in wars without the EMOTIONAL brilliance of men like Setsuna F Seiei or the Dylandy twins or the empathetical Marina? It just doesn’t get any better than this folks!
