I have lots to do…
I won’t lie I think I am suffering a bit of this burn out thing after roughly two years of being the tl;dr guy I hope to recharge my batteries soon and get back to business as usual, but it seems the perpetual boredom of military life is going to be beyond my reach for the time being, assuming that everything goes according to my supervisors’ plans I will be out and about frolicking from one base to another across the country attending classes real soon methinks. Even when I am not moving about, as a newly minted E-5 as my first real responsibility I get to mentor an E-3 who seems to be having a bit of the troubles, professionally and perhaps otherwise. Then there is the issue of my family… Still I hope to be doing some VOTOMS posts real soon and catch up with the rest of the season. I suppose this is more for myself as once this gets published I will have to try and meet these goals.
I want my Kasrkin to look like these guys…
Once again I skipped Fanime and instead went to a gaming convention which reignited my passion for another hobby quite profoundly…Now that the Imperial Guard Codex is out I have a hankering to get cracking on that, and trust me I have plenty to do. I also promised 13sugars that I would paint up a 1:100 Union Flag for her as well so I suppose with all these tasks that I will have to start keeping things shorter and using less screen caps. I also have to do a proper two years on post now that I have felt the first pangs of burning out… ah well K-ON and VOTOMS: Roots of Ambition post sometime later I suppose I have to run up to Davis and back to try and snag two extra tickets for graduati0n first thing in the morning.
Yeah I think I can really get into this one.

Well, have fun smashing opposing armies and take care of your E-3. Just make it back in time to write about the Frontier movie comrade! This time I’ll join you. <^_^
Thats… A lot of Imperial Guard models you need to paint. And if I’m right, it’s not even 2000 points worth. Egads.
So, any thoughts on the dynamics that changed with regards to the new Guard Codex? It’s one of those instances where I’m actually HAPPY that there’s only one active Guard player in my area.
What? No Valkyries?
@ghostlightning
I hope to be around for the Frontier Movie, as always I expect Alto-hime to still be the prettiest of them all. I do hope thye sneak in Battle Frontier doing TRANSFORMATION!
@Myssa Rei
I have plenty not pictured, 3 Chimeras in various states of assembly, along with one Hell Hound. Infantry-wise I still have 20 more Cadians, and 37 Steel Legion guys (including 2 officers). I plan on using missile launchers and grenade launchers as the standard kit, and I can squeeze out 9 heavy weapons teams in all with what I have since I do plan on using mortars. 2 of the Kasrkin squads will be my veterans with Grenadiers, I hope to be able to make Heavy flamers though if not I have enough meltaguns and plasma guns to throw out plenty of anti-Marine firepower.
Infantry is cheaper, though tanks cost more but at least the Chimera dropped to 55 pts. with full weapons loadout. I just love the idea of doing reserves with two huge infantry platoons right off the bat that come with integrated heavy weapon squads (AT, and Mortars in my case) along with expendable special weapons squads that can carry demolition charges (Yes please send your super expensive assault squads towards my platoons! That just means the demo charge guys won’t have to walk that far…). Let’s not forget the 30 point forward artillery guy, and the Officer of the Fleet. I might get a Griffon since it’s cheap. I don’t see much benefit in squadroning tanks since it leads to over kill. Still it is intimidating.
@dodgethis_sg
At 58 USD a pop that is pretty pricey, besides I need to build up my horde of Guardsmen first.
Here, Crusader, a gift for you.

If you need a ton of laughs.
:3
One day we’ll meet and I’ll pwn you with my Eldar army.
Muahahahah!
Crusader: I’d though you’d have loved Knight Commander Pask. And yeah, some of the newer tricks that Guard Players are coming up with are simply brutal when actually played right. 3 Sanctioned Psyker Squads with an Allied Inquisitor with a Culexus Assassin within 12 inches? PAIN. Nevermind the tri Valk squads, sheesh…

Now yours for only 47USD without shipping!
@DrmChsr0
Thanks though I prefer to laugh at space marines getting blown up from demolition charges from lowly Guardsmen.
@Supplice
Actually fighting a T3 army for once would be great every one here plays Space Marines or Demons…
@Myssa Rei
I don’t take special characters, I prefer the sight of a massive formation of grunts with flak jacket, flashlights, and GUTS. Besides I have seen one too many Kharns and Pap smurfs just plain embarrass themselves.
@dodgethis_sg
Thanks though I am all spent out this month.
I always had an interest for 40k, unfortunately the miniatures aren’t sold in my country and are way to expensive for me.
Oh well I still have the PC games
Of noted interest to you is the entry on Lord Castellan Ursarkar E. Creed.
Replace demolition charges with anything your heart desires. Even Scout Titans, Baneblades, or Leman Russ tanks.
:3
hehe good luck in painting it. I am now waiting for the leman russ variants which is coming to the store near me. ^^
Man I love the Guard but I hate how much they cost. Moneywise.
But I’m really interested in the new Order system; even a non-gimmicky army has a fighting chance. And I think the troubles with managing and firing with a 50-man combined squad preclude it from being a proper gimmick. (Even if they only need one Order to affect the whole unit. And the whole squad has a Commissar.)
But if someone actually manages to get that to work, that’d be a sight.
@Soulstrider
Well if you find a few British expats you might find one or two who know how to get them…
@DrmChsr0
Yeah if I can get around to building a Baneblade or coughing up the cash for a Titan.
@tien
Indeed hope they start selling turret and weapon sprues along with that. Still with greater variety means harder choices…I like the Exterminator, but the Executioner would also be fun to use too.
@Dorian Cornelius Jasper
Yeah I hope to squeeze as much out of what I have right now, I am even using tank commander bits to make advisers and parts of extra heavy weapons teams. Still there is nothing quite like the sight of massed guardsmen. One guy actually feilded all infantry with notable success so i guess it can be done though I don’t think they used a 50 man combined squad.
LOL a mecha fan and no Sentinel walkers in the List? Oh well, I changed my Sentinels with lascannons to Vendettas, twin-linked is a must have for me.
Being the TL;DR is hard work, let me tell you! I can certainly empathize with you there.
I guess my only advice would be “hodohodo ni shite”. Take it easy; scale back your pace to something you feel more manageable.
@mareo
Hey I just broke the bank getting the the infantry and the armor, not to mention a storage case to hold it all… Sentinels will have to wait.
@0rion
It’s more of a time management thing than anything else, that and work…
lol gard, prolly the easiest race for eldar to rape, nothing like bringing out a squad of war warkers into the rear armour of all your vehichles as reinforcements from the side 1 brightlance and a scatterlazer per walker will eat tanks watch out for that (special rule of walkers to reinforce from side)
