Crusader is off doing his duty, so now that I’ve recovered a bit from turkey and shopping here’s two episodes of Railgun coverage. I’ll get to Kampfer soon enough.

Saten may have been an intriguing possibility at the start with her lesbian tendencies and laid back nature. However the past two episodes have sent her stock off a cliff, as she unceremoniously slides into emo. Ahhhh, woe is me I’m just a nobody let me get some smack to become super special! Give me a break.

Haha, I know people like this.

Poor Kuroko, always a step behind getting some loving from her onee-sama. These scenes of her exaggerated comedic angst never get old either, definitely one of the best parts of the series.

You’ll have to forgive me, I glazed over/skipped most of the nonsense exposition and moping around about the Level Upper in both of these episodes. I really don’t watch the show for poorly written attempts at having a plot, it’s all about crazy teleporting lesbian and Biribiri playing around.

Again, poor Kuroko, but yay for hilarity. Kinda disappointed they cut out Touma’s involvement in this scene from the manga. Crusader was pleased I’m sure, but I like Spikey-kun.

Ugh, my nutbladder.

Damn, Biribiri certainly left her mark.

Oh, the things I don’t care about. Again, I skipped most of this crap.

Oh snap, here we go. Off to a great start with the teleporting the guy to fall on his own head. I hope she has some heavy ass books in that bag she beats the crap out of people with each week. She must have to keep buying new ones with all of that wear.

Watching Biribiri zap the shit out of people is fun in its own ways, but the two best fight sequences in the series have been when Kuroko has been having a rough go at it, namely here and back in the flashback scene at the bank. Watching her struggle and improvise is a treat, and it’s pretty fun to watch someone using a teleport ability in a fight sequence, you don’t see it done well all that often. Plus she’s one tough girl, taking some powerful shots from a guy whose got at least 2 feet and a hundred pounds on her.

One of the few people in this show who don’t decide to tell everyone what their ability is in 5 minute explanations. What seems tactically sound to anyone with half a brain seems to escape the genre and its lack of creativity in expositive techniques. Kuroko has to sit there and explain it though so it’s not a total coup.

Using teleportation to collapse the building was pretty wicked too.

Kuroko is awesome as always and with the passing of time I grow more fond of Alphard onee-sama and Liang Qi’s love child. The absence of Spikey-kun was a glorious decision as this is after all a yuri show where a male love interest has no place what so ever. Biribiri acting all cute put me in conflict ont eh one hand i felt like DAWWWING but on the other hand knowing who she is made me want to bang my head like Kuroko.
Considering where the novels are coming from, the more critical fans take that first before any adaptation decay. Needs more Touma in any case.
put the song on the radio and the whole city is comatose

Kuroko could have won the fight easier by not running into the building, but I suppose there needs to be a bit of collateral damage in every Railgun fight.
8th episode – railgun can walk on the walls … ahm… yes : |
9th episode – Kuroko brought uber anihilation upon criminal … heh : | wait not.
10th episode – overall Saten no progress … why they even bother ?! with this…
There is a lack of equivalent opossing group to uber unbeatable pwning duo with more than 2 brain cells… spike dude? ehm … at least I don’t read manga.
What´s up with the SO4 Lymle reference? Almost caught me off guard there.
To the episodes, obvious want is obvious. I´m surprised that Saten did find it all on her self. But if she is a lvl 0, what would her ability be?
But if she wants to become a higher lvl, why try to force her upgrade? If you force something like that onto your body it will only brake it sooner or later.
Do understand her wanting to become stronger though. Espacially in such a society where the “level” is what people care the most about…
Well I can understand why Saten would go for it. I mean having the dream of being an esper with a cool ability and then having it crushed when arriving is hard. Even if it might be risky the temptation to finally realize her dream would be hard to resist. Besides she doesn’t know how it works so it might be less forcing it than helping her body be able to use an ability. Obviously what Kuroko and Uiharu find out about Level Upper will help explain what’s going on there.
Personally I think Saten would be okay with just level 1. Anything more than just being completely normal.
I’m actually curious if she does use it what kind of ability she’ll get. I’m sure that curiosity is running through her as well.
Then we think back to Touma, if I remember correctly he is also a level 0 and his ability is by far one of the most usefull I´ve seen.
So it feels as if the lvl system for the abilities are way of.
But as you say, it´s easy to understand why she would want to use it.
We´ll just have to wait and see what happends.
Starting to like Kuroko a bit more, was cool to see her use her powers in a different way than normal bringing down a building now thats cool. My poor Saten being emo Nuuuu!! ah well i want to see what her power is as well cant wait, but when i hear level upper i just think
The Konami Code: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A. ;D
Oi, you lazy bums. I was looking forward to your hilarious Kämpfer entries
