To Aru Kagaku no Railgun 19-20: Made of Maid

Not sure if the Dorm Super would allow you to wake up on Air Force Time…

While normally filler would be most unwelcome during the eve of the the final four/six I consider the alternative to be much worse since it seems likely that it would be a rehash of the Index plot given the greater presence of Spikey-kun and his gluttonous pet nun. I started this show wanting nothing more than a yuri comedy which it has been though sadly with the end fast approaching the plot must thicken though I still hope the Index cameos don’t morph this into Index Redux. Still in the mean time I can thoroughly enjoy Kuroko’s machinations as she takes full advantage of the open house, for one of the few things that her onee-sama fears is the iron decree of the Dorm Mistress. With luck the data in her camera remained intact despite the battery being dead. I much enjoyed watching Uiharu lose herself in a yuri paradise and Tokiwadai is very much a yuri paradise. Even if Kuroko spent a handsome sum for her desired goods it was after all for a good cause, and to be honest no one would have cherished that set quite the way Kuroko would. I am not sure if Kongo-san is just eccentric or just plain dumb, because really Made in England? What was she thinking though I guess the only thing she would notice would have been the price tag, even if it is only Kongo Kuroko is proving to be quite the manipulator of events and it would not surprise me if the unanimous vote for a Biri Biri Violin concert was due in no small part to Kuroko being the one counting the votes.

Watching them do arts and crafts reminded me of how I had to to that sewing thing back in 5th grade for the the annual quilt I tried to do a mako shark but it was far from lifelike. Of the remaining crafts I do have a peculiar fondness for Ace of Cakes on the food network and was shocked to see that Saten would doubt the power and existence of sugar flowers. I guess the Food Network isn’t as big over there. As for Erii’s first sortie her presence indicates that something heavy is about to go down though hopefully it will be the last thing to go down unless they do a rush job in the time that is left. While Eri isn’t that compelling of a character it was nice to see Uiharu try and be a mentor even if she failed at it. Still it was totally worth it so see them gift wrap themselves for Saten. Whatever is going on it seems that Telestina and Nugi Onna are on a collision course, I wonder who will be left standing once the smoke clears and if they intend to wrap up everything or leave a little hanging. From what I gather is seems Nugi Onna is trying to do something with AIM fields and Telestina is running the ECM to counter that, as for whether or not the side effects are welcome by either party remains to be seen. If nothing else it was nice to see Biri Biri fight for her position of main protagonist WITH A CHAIR.

Alright yuri confession time!

By the way Kuroko was in charge of counting those votes…

Be careful now it is not wise to argue with the Dorm Mistress, though for once her polices seem to enjoy Kuroko’s support.

Kuroko has numerous armbands to buttress her authority…

Though Kuroko did get the best seats in the house…

I see Kuroko has learned a thing or two about formal parties in need of a BANG…

If only Saten really insisted that Biri Biri play her meido role…

Excited is hardly the word I would use…

Today she is Urahiu…

…and she burns fiercely with yuri passion.

That is some fine cakey…

It is tragic that so few people have watched Ace of Cakes…

Saten has a luck onii-chan…

Behold the Power of LOVE!

Uiharu is certainly no very self aware…

And you thought you couldn’t have a good time in that outfit.

For Saten want to be able to wrap her arms around that fragile waist that might break under the weight of your beauty.

You know what else has separate stomachs…, Cows…

Ah a glimpse of Saten and Uiharu’s future…at least they will not be eternally loli.

Much is expected of you not because they hate you, but because you are elite.

We love surprises.

Worry not for Alphard onee-sama made it clear that style and lethality are not mutually exclusive.

Not sure if that was ordinary currency you used to pay for them…

I know that her nanny Cummings taught her how to glean intel from trash but this is a creative application of said skills.

You will be part of her as well yes?

It seems that Kuroko was infected with Colasour’s luck…

It’s like British cooking…

It falls under the Beef Wellington category…it causes heart attacks and not the good ones.

Made of Maid-san is like a black hole…there is no escape.

That’s their “Kuroko save me face”…

I must say Kuroko really out did her self with that one…

What filthy lies he speaks!

Indeed for this is her show and not yours…

YEAH hit him with the chair, do everything in your power to make sure that you remain the main character…

Oh thank God this did not turn into Index…

At least she inherited some of Alphard’s lady-like qualities…

Kuroko’s expectations were delightfully exceeded…

It’s too late to regret your decision…

She’s clutching that thing like the One Ring…It must be PRECIOUS to her.

Like Alphard Kuroko is always cleaning up after people…

In any case none of them are as distinguished or as brave as you.

I am so glad they are part of Coalition Forces.

Well it’s not like Saten is evil…

Notice, Uiharu, how Saten only flips up your skirt…and no other.

Sadly there are no more friendly ghosts like Casper.

I suppose she is a big fan of Halloween…

But you may call her Big Sister…

Oh Kuroko until you have your own specialists on your payroll don’t believe everything you hear…

FUCK YEAH Galaga!

Should have gone with R-Type…

This is the one they show their families…

This was the one they did for fun…

This was for themselves…

This was just a reshot…

Kuroko was so lady-like that she didn’t spit our her drink…

Uiharu had Saten on speed dial…

Hey gift wrapping…

Not sure why Dorm Mistress bought it they hardly procrastinate to begin with…

Much as Biri Biri dislikes the idea they were fated to be together…

Oh what could it be that inspires such a look of longing?

Not some spikey haird malcontent…

Wait doesn’t milk make you sleepy…

No idea, but what will you be doing…?

That must be it! Unlike boys they had a better sense of timing.

The fire of their passion will burn so bright you can see it from a galaxy far far away…

It is time for this and that…

I assume this makes them little sisters…

I wonder if she is related to Kati…certainly she can really bundle up that fine hair of hers..

Nugi Onna also has a precious…

My guess is actually the opposite. I’d say Telestina’s the one stirring up trouble, probably using the reseults from Kiyama’s past research to some evil stuff and Kiyama is here to strip for the sake of good and justice.

Perhaps, but still it will be a BIG FIGHT when they are tasked with peer review…

Lol, Touma might be able to fend off Mikoto’s electricity, but he can’t fend off chair shots.

Well it is obvious the girl was Harumi’s student who had a coma now awake. RSPK Syndrome is about abilities going berserk. Which is also related to the AIM diffusion field.

Wonder if upside down Aleister Crowley will appear. Since everything is Just as Planned for this guy.

Even though i’m a Yuri fan, i prefer a ToumaxMikoto coupling.
As much as you dislike “Spiky-kun” as you called him, Touma brings the real true side of Mikoto and that’s why most fans love about him.
Of course you gonna say “The mighty Zeus does not approve of this union and i shall smash him into Atoms!!!” but your Zeus will approve of Touma’s heroism later in the series where he faces great adversaries from the Princesses of England to the daugthers of Thor, to the warrior slaves of the Aztec gods to the minions of God’s Right Seat, from Knights to Battle Nuns he shall face them all. No matter the foe be Saint or Demon, Man or Woman, where there is injustice and Evil, there is a Light and that Light is Touma and his Right hand of Justice!!!

Your Zeus will be so impress and he will happily accept the grand union between the boy with the Fist of Justice and the great Thunderre herself! Hail, for your Zeus celebrate this mighty, grand alliance!!

In other news nice review. I lol that your referring Telestina as “Big Sister” even though i think u should call her “Sofia Lamb”. She does look like her.

Bah LIES FILTHY LIES. I trust Index as much as I would trust an oath of loyalty from Baron Ashura. Still Biri Biri is the protagonist not this Spikey-kun he can go back to his own show if he wants to do is LARPing. He is free to do his evil in his own show, not even Almighty Zeus would suffer the indignation of having Biri Biri’s spotlight stolen from her by this so called “hero.”

Besides Index was merely anti-yuri propaganda perpetuated by Spikey-kun. I want this to stay as Railgun and not Index II or Index Redux. It’s like Xena Warrior Princess I don’t want to see Hercules every episode or even every two episodes.

The Bioshock puns were hilarious. The atrocious paint job on that suit, not so much.

I don’t mind Touma that much either, at least not as much as the other targets of Crusader’s vitriol (like the Dynamic Duo of Setsuna and Saji from Gundam 69 — oops, did I say that one out loud?). He’s kind of amusing to look at, in that sideways kind of way. But I do agree that he should stay within his own show and cease and desist trying to steal Mikoto’s thunder (pun intended).

BTW, Crusader, if the Index anime ever gets to Vol. 12, if you can stand the POV shifts among Accelerator, Touma, and the Misaka clones, you’ll be treated to a scene in which Kuroko kicks Touma in the back of his head in an attempt to save her Onee-sama from getting into a photo booth with him. (Fission Mailed, but oh, well. Touma has a new misfortune to complain about, especially considering Mikoto all but dragged him in there in the first place.)

So long as Touma lives a long and miserable life all is well for Zeus wills it.

It must be tough. On one hand there is the heavy Touma hate, but also the desire to minimize his presence :) . Anyways no doubt Touma works well in Railgun as a side character. Can show up and you get some of the best reactions from Mikoto. He shouldn’t take the spotlight, but I think it helps when he makes random appearances since he adds through Mikoto’s reactions more than he takes away. I mean if we are going to complain about taking away Mikoto’s spotlight how about those episodes wasted on characters like the Anti-Skill person. At least when Touma makes a very rare appearance it’s all about Mikoto.

Though not a serious episode 19 I did feel for Mikoto a little. Absolutely no one realized the pressure she was feeling. There wasn’t much hope from Kuroko since her obsession does blind her.

Still best part of this had to be “You know what else has separate stomachs…, Cows…” That was just pure gold right there :) .

Touma’s presence is hardly rare, still never was there ever a worse homo homo side character.

i look forward to seeing Biri Biri be more honest with Kuroko, there should be no secrets between them. Though i suspect Kuroko knows that he onee-sama will always pull through despite the pressure,

I’m all about the ‘filler’ episodes of this series, especially with how much I’m hating on Index watching it at the university anime club. Bah, who needs action when you have characters like these? Uiharu in ‘limiter off’ mode was definitely a highlight of the series for me, however brief it was.

Indeed I tossed in the towel after a point. Railgun works so much better as a yuri comedy than shounen/harem.
