We’ve received entries for the Macross patch competition and the time has come to vote. Five very nice designs were submitted, and now it’s time to choose. Vote for your favorite in the poll, and at this time next week we will announce the winning design. The designer will receive the actual patch as their reward. Nr 3 is awesome.
Nr 4 is cool too and a bit more obvious/clear that it’s macross.
Quite honestly……I don’t like any, yet the last one has an essence of garness that can’t be ignored.
I think you should make a patch with:
1) Lenneth/Silmeria/Hrist from Valkyrie Profile to fit the “battle maiden” image of the original VF-1
2) You can go with a very hot in white lingerie Sheryl image for the “Pure yet dangerous” image.
3) Go with the image of episode 6 of Sheryl about to enter the concert in white dress. That does fit nicely the “Valkyrie is going to battle” image.
They guy that has to make them is a Muslim, as cool as your suggestions are I doubt the guy would be thrilled or even willing to do a HAWT Sheryl patch.
WHUT??? No design honoring the Pineapple Cake or Salad???
Anyway too bad I didn’t know about the patch competition, something like a Destroid Tomahawk squadron patch would have been nice…
The number of entries was decidedly small but they are nice nonetheless.

Meh, I think I ended up being split between #4 & #5 just because of the form factor; for better or for worse, those last two are the closest in looking like the Navy squadron patches I’m familiar with (for examples, see http://www.vaq136.com/ea6bpatches/index.html). If you took #1 and put it in a similar form factor as #4 or #5, I probably would’ve voted for it.
Entry #4 was mine, I based it mostly on the “Final Cruise” patches of various F-14 squadrons when they were transition out of the the Tomcat. I wanted to do a fictitious “First Cruise” style patch of Skull Squadron with the SDF-1, but I couldn’t quite make it fit and work out so I went with a more simple patch.
Oh and I had also though of doing a “Heritage” patch showing Skull Squadron’s supposed past, from VF-17 to VF-84 to VF-103 and to simply Skull Squadron of Macross Zero era+ .
Good eye. The shape of mine was actually patterned after the real life US Army Task Force ODIN flight patch.
Ok love macross, *shines macross lifer cross* but DAMMMMMMMMM that Shuffle Alliance patch is freaking awesome.

I’ll go with number #4, as it as said is clearly macross. 1,2,3 look just like martial arts patches, and 5 is too gundam.
