Well at least it makes more sense than that GN-X donut for Gundam 00.
Having almost team killed Trowa, Quatre some how manages to get captured despite being in possession of the very broken and OP Wing Zero. They get a little respite from walking around in chains since the Trieze faction quickly forms in the wake of Trieze’s confinement. Their first attempt to takeover the Lunar base having ended in abject failure results in them getting Virgo rushed since Romefeller uses limited AI and can only Virgo spam. Sadly there is much recycled shot abuse despite the introduction of the Virgo in mass mobile suit combat.
While hooked up to the super computer that the League of Old Men built IN A MAINTENANCE VENT they proceed to decry Quatre’s short comings in having failed to utilize the sheer over powered killiness of Wing Zero. Had Quatre not fucked up they could have gone into Tubarov’s base to kill all of his dudes. Alas the Trieze faction proves how aptly the emulate the cowardly lion and surrender to Trant.
Trant being the lazy bastard that he is wants to steal someone else’s work and call it his own. He stupidly allows Heero to pilot Wing Zero. Unlike Quatre who hesitated Heero knew who his enemies were and proceeded to have a HEERO SMASH moment. Sadly a bowel movement ended Heero’s rampage and Wing Zero was left all alone. However despite attempts to kill it with fire Wing Zero yet lives. After having used his bullshit newtype powers to see Relena’s ghost despite her being very much alive Quatre and Heero go back to the Earth because too many colonists have gone Zeke.
On Earth some of the locals are actually reluctant members of the Romefeller and cut Heero and Quatre a break only to see both make a break for an OZ carrier and evict the crew. While those two are doing some far fetched sweep and clear Relena is busy persuading nations to give up armaments. Keeping old folks company is all fine and dandy but Dorthy comes along to spice things up. After fruitlessly clicking her heels twice to start a war. Dorthy then remembered that she needed to first take off the shoes of the wicked witch of the east.
However Dorthy could not wait any longer and decided to stalk Relena in person at the all girls school. She wastes no time in trying to work her magic but to no avail. Having been spurned for now Dorthy does a little checking an her competition, I have to give her credit as she has the guts to go against Heero to claim Relena. As for Quatre, Dorthy saw no need to worry about him. Quatre decides to sit things out while Heero starts piloting a Leo for the Trieze faction. In a slightly longer moment of a Leo kicking ass it could have been so much better had they had a bigger budget for the mook on mook combat. Still even Heero meets his match in the Virgo as the Leo is at a severe disadvantage. Thankfully it seems that Noin and Sally Po had joined forces to recover Wing Gundam and just in time as Quatre grows a pair long enough to do an Aries-jack. While the Virgo is still new it cannot take buster rifle shots and the get routed.
Relena being a much more responsible monarch runs a decent enough kingdom and has mustered enough money not only to keep the people well fed and well off, but had enough left over to fund pet projects like getting her Heero back. After all why settle for a crappy letter when you can send your people to ship your guy directly to you. I think I am having a little too much fun with Wing in a manner that I don’t think the production team thought possible, granted times have changed but it was strange to interpret Relena’s “hey good looking” stare as a OH SHI- she’s going to get him tonight moment. I kind of found Dorthy to be mildly annoying before, but now it’s almost like Dorthy is bringing in some much needed yuri and yuri yandere to the show. If only Dorthy referred to Relena as nee-sama it would have been perfect. Now that Dorthy is actively trying to get into Relena’s skirt I sense good times ahead, and more un-intended fun.

Ah, the Virgoes. How I hated them in almost all of the SRW and G-Generation games they appeared in. Seriously, there’s just something wrong when a shield on an MS can pretty much nullify energy weaponry as good as an EVA’s AT-Field…
I found it amusing though how, after pretty much being invulnerable to EVERYTHING thrown against them so far, in one episode they get taken down by the truckload with Gundam Wing’s old, three-shot Buster Rifle.
Well that might be because EVA are as weak was Virgoes. Maybe it’s a jaunt at this beam spaming losers and was meant to compel you to take close combat mecha.
The shield can stop beams but it cannot stop FIST.
unless its Eva Unit 01… in which it goes berserk if its hp goes down to 0 (learnt that the hard way)

Seriously though, the Virgoes (and the Virgo-IIs that followed) dominated the battlefield in Wing, with only the Gundam derivatives having any kind of chance against them.
Hence EVA < Gundam also do you have to lug batteries and protect the EVA’s power cord?

Not yet. There is at least one more faction left to show up, and Relena, while technically not backstabbing, still hasn’t pulled off her master plan for WORLD DOMINATION (through peace)!

Treachery hasn’t gone up to 11 yet. Dorthy still has to duel Heero and Trieze still has one more gift to give.
The yuri and yandere interpretations are cracking me up, Wing is so much more enjoyable when you substitute a different set of dynamics in for what the creators intended. Now if only this could get a remake with these ideas included, or a whole new series concept. I mean, Gundam has pandered to its female audience ever since Wing, why not something for the guys (and yuri women)?
(Closest we have is certain moments in the excellent Ecole du Ciel manga, which I would kill many men for an anime version of.)
All they really had to do is get Dorthy to invade Relena’s personal space although a night of Dorthy and Relena that went on forever and ever would have done much to compensate for the BL fanfics and vibe. We had but a fleeting moment if Soma and Louise but they brutally dragged them apart makes one wonder if they are simply anti-yuri in Gundam.
Really makes me wish for a modern day, yuri schoolgirl spinoff now.
Yeah they could do some really neat spin offs but Sunrise seems pretty intent on keeping Gundam hetero and mildly BL.
I for one would love to see a Gundam series with lots of yuri.
You would need a Gundam story whose female leads outnumber the males, and for them to be actual PILOTS too. Ecole du Ciel comes to mind, but its story runs pretty much in parallel with Zeta Gundam, so…
They could make it an AU and Gundam 0080, 0083, and 8th MS Team is any indication having a woman pilot worth her rations can only enhance chances of a Gundam series to avoid sucking.
Truth be told I grow tired of the wimpy wannabe righteous males with tragic pasts that get to pilot a Gundam.
After all the BL inherent in Gundam (all the way back to Char and Amuro or so I’ve heard), they need to give us something that’s totally yuri – something like a Gundam-sama ga Miteru (ace Gundam pilot onee-sama helping train her unwitting imouto in the arts of Gundam, war and afternoon tea). Or, if they really need a male lead, how about a Gundam-zuki no Miko where sure, the guy gets the Gundam, but we all know who the lead couple is, the two girls who are somehow central to the plot (and who might even be newtypes for all I care, as long as we get lots of nekkid yuri newtype goodness).
Maybe when the ratings dip again they will.
