I’ve started a little side project, inspired a bit by International Sai Moe, to have fans choose mecha to compete with each other in a tournament. This is a new thing and I’ll be learning as I go but it should hopefully be a fun tournament for all involved. Nominations will open tonight at 12am EST (GMT -5) via email, and the first preliminary matches to test the system will begin at the same time. More details at:

Glad to see your project going forward, will follow this closely. Although I am pretty sure either Gundam or TTGL will win.
There are a lot of Gundams, so that helps split the franchise vote a bit. TTGL I expect to do really well though. Glad to have you following this!

I’m sure the Freedom will be a point of contention. As loved by its fans as it is hated by its detractors (including me, heh.)
Full Metal Panic needs more love.
So I nominated the mecha from that, regardless of it they defy the laws of physics like TTGL or Gundam Seed.
In the nominations so far there have been two FMP mecha that have been very popular. Currently in the top 5 or 10 for total nominations iirc. So there seems to be plenty of love for FMP so far.
Needs more BattleTech. ^^
As much as I love Battletech, I didn’t want to make things too complicated by straying outside of anime works. But Battletech will always hold a place in my heart.

I approve. But there are a lot of mecha, why not split into divisions like “Real Robot-prototype” “Real Robot-mass production” , “Super Robot”, or by era.
It’s difficult to make a direct comparison between the Valkyrie, and the Gurren lagann.
I really didn’t want to make things complicated for this so I didn’t make it multiple divisions or rounds with different rules or double elimination or anything. This is the first time I’ve done anything like this and I don’t want to take up the burden of running things beyond a simple tournament format.
As to comparisons, that’s entirely up to each voter. Whichever mecha you like better than the others, for whatever reason (capabilities, visuals, design, anything), just vote as you see fit.

Why did I only see this now? I know I should have been checking THAT more often.
That said, if neither the God nor Master Gundam make it to the finals, then the tournament is obviously rigged.
