Screenshot of my browser tells one story, but Sai Mecha isn’t Sai Mecha Anime, so I had no problem voting robots like the Gunbuster over the Unit-01 Test Type, of course the Variable Fighters of Macross… but I equally had no problem voting for it over the Tachikoma, or over any Gundam in the tournament. The Sai Mecha distracted me from celebrating my first year anniversary of writing here for T.H.A.T. Anime Blog – but it’s okay since it was to celebrate the victory of the VF-01 Valkyrie over the Sinanju. That was something that’ll stay with me for a long time.
But now, I’ll let the Sai Mecha celebrate my anniversary belatedly with the victory of the Test Type, which is, awesomely, coincidentally, part of the first post I authored here on this blog. This I owe, to my collaborator extraordinaire Executive Otaku, who brought us Sai Mecha itself. Three cheers for the man who, despite
lacking the hormones to appreciate super robot anime, possessing an unhealthy hatred for Lynn Minmay, lacking the utter sense to appreciate Macross 7, an inexplicable inability to appreciate Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, and a having a beyond full-retard regard for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED AND Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, is a BRO among BROS. All of us who got to relax, cut loose, and drop down our AT Fields and just commit each other to the flames of fanboy HELL, owe him a huge thanks.

In my campaign post I was criticized for playing Sai Anime (basically) because I blogged more images of Evangelion characters than I did of the Test Type itself. I said I was reserving my stash for the eventual victory, so here’s your image dump:
There you go. It’s not as image-dumpy by T.H.A.T. standards, but it already feels like a fuckton for me. It feels a little strange how I’ve been writing on this site for over a year, and how I’ve been reading Crusaderthis blog for over 3 years. I feel fortunate to have joined at a time when E O was running a loose but effective outfit, and Impz was supportive behind the scenes, and with a great team of fellow rookies who passed their tests on their first go (unlike me who got rejected and had to blog everywhere else before getting invited in): Mystlord, Chronolyx, and Hana the Banana.
I truly enjoyed my own participation in the first ever Sai Mecha, not the least being my appropriation of the Acguy gunpla mods as trophies for the tournament. But while I may even forget how the Test Type won and beat my VF-01, I’ll never forget all the fun I had flaming all of you fags who kept failing every round, voting the crap you like so much. Tang!

Thanks! This blog has been very good to me for a very long time. I’m very happy to be able to write for it as well.
You have to admit, the EVA-01 is an iconic design. I really love the… sleek… looks… of the robot (despite my love for CLUNKY WALKAN TANKS) that once in a while, I keep forgetting that it is but a pawn of Anno wanting to rape us all over with his dick.

Would really really like to rage about the Test type 1 winning, but such is the way of SaiMecha. We’ll get a VF champion next year!
Next year indeed, but you realize now that you can’t just rely on me to campaign for the VFs. You’ll have to drag forum goers and other Macross fans out of their walled gardens to vote for the VFs. The MacrossWorld Forums is one such walled garden where people seldom venture out.
Wouldn’t Tengen Toppa Eva-01 just technically be Tengen Toppa Lazengann, with a purple paint job, minus the awesome, plus religious symbolism and x1000 the gore?
Well, the Lazengann does owe much of its design to the Test Type so yeah. Instead of an upright, karate fighting style though, you’ll get a low-center of gravity wrestling style with the Test Type…
