While Amata can’t hold his own in a fist fight yet at least it seems as though there isn’t much lose left in him. I hope he learns how to fight better but for now I will accept that he is not going to shrink from his duties and will face Kagura head on. Mikono on the other hand seems to be wavering in her commitment and seems to be on the verge of sympathizing with Kagura if not choose him outright. Thankfully this episode wasn’t just about Mikono feeling something for Kagura and we do learn a bit more about the enemy. The Abductors seem to need Alicia for some grand purpose and since they worship her I am guessing that Alicia is of vital importance to the Abductors staying on Altea. Mikage mentioned something about needing a Reaigler to be their Eve. Perhaps they hope that Mikono can make their planet bloom again or something because their planet seems devoid of life. If that is the case I wonder how Kagura will take it.
I suppose they are going to target Mikono more directly as the figure out that she is the one Kagura has been chasing. I am still curious as to the fate of those they abduct though. The Abductors have taken people for a long time now so those they kidnapped had to have gone somewhere. One would like to believe that they all get put into some sort of stasis like Alicia but I have a feeling that this is not the case. It’s interesting how they are still conducting reconnaissance at this stage since they should have realized that they may well have enough technological superiority to overwhelm the meager Earth defenses. Though maybe their goal isn’t conquest, though to what end they hope achieve with their harvests will be some revelation along with why they didn’t launch a full scale invasion. Maybe they simply lack the numbers but if they are stuck on a dying world I can’t see why they would choose to remain there given how they have warp gates. It is possible though that Mikage is the one who really controls them and they simply don’t trust Mikage all that much to use the gates en masse. I wonder if Izumo and Mikage are going to have a falling out at some point, if nothing else Izumo seems quite wary of Mikage. Still Izumo is probably the luckiest guy on Altea since he gets to see Alicia in person while dudes like Jin have to live with holographic depictions.
Shrade got his moment in the spot light though I admit it would be sad if this is really it for him. It was a sad end even if Shrade’s backstory was tortured if a bit rushed. Maybe this is his redemption but I’d much rather have him alive, hopefully his presence in the OP is going to mean we are in for a helping of pineapple cakey (also the next ep looks anything but melancholy). If not then at least we got a good run out of him and for once someone other than Amata was able to beat up Mislagnissa. Spada is a good looking variant and I would love nothing more than a sword duel especially with Mislagnissa making a Black Knight Impression. It was almost poetry in motion when Spada took on Mislagnissa even if Kagura could barely put up a fight, serves Kagura right though for not focusing on his enemies and just thinking about his wench.
Poor Andy though can’t seem to get a break and is always the first to get called back. I just hope that Andy and everyone else outside of Zessica, Mikono, Amata, and Cayanne will have a chance to shine when they reach their peaks. I am especially curious as to what Aquarion would look like with a powered up Zessica and Mix as the head. If Spada is any measure of what a variant could look like then I hope that Satelight will spare no effort to make more unique variants that get increasingly more gorgeous. Next week looks to be more hijinks and hopefully Zessica will have a decent shot and hopefully Andy can get make some headway with Mix.
So how long were you sniffing Amata's butt before arriving at this conclusion?

Today is a good day to die.
That’s from the third Starship Troopers movie right? Speaking of that movie, there’s a reboot which is more faithful to the novel. So no more fascist cannon fodder getting minced by bugs but giant mechs pulverizing the enemy.

I hope they don’t make a mess of it. Certainly Starship Troopers deserves so much better than the Verhoeven flim. At least all signs point to there being armored infantry as opposed to nut jobs wildly shooting at CG bugs. The film was alright, just not that faithful to the source material.
This episode brought the funny down a bit ( just like Rinne no Lagrange’s current episode went for a more serious feel ), but advanced the plot significantly. The chess pieces are moving into position.
Seems kinda like next week will be again more of a lighthearted character development ep, though. Zessica makes her move, while Mikono likely mopes over Kagura.
The pieces are in motion though wonders what will all this commotion be for…
Yeah next week will be Haunted High School week, I am unsure as to why Mikono is absent but I can’t help but anticipate a Zessica-centric episode.
I wanted Shrade to use the shield as a violin. The crazy theories on the internet makes me think a lot, from the evidences, I can only theorise that they are halves, Amata and Mikono are Apollonius and Celiane(the 24000 pairing), then Kagura(must have gotten the wrong person due to them being halves) and Zessica are Apollo and Sylvia(the reflection reminds me of Sylvia, 12000 pairing). Either that or Amata and Mikono are the original Vectors in human form and Kagura is the third vector. It’ll be awesome if the original Aquarion fought along side with Aquarion Evol in the last battle, imagine the original’s entrance by unleaching a Mugen Punch to save Evol before flying out of the crust.
We must never rule out any possibility with Kawamori… Though your theory sounds plausible I am unsure as to Kagura playing nice with Zessica, though Zessica would be the one to beat him into submission…
Kagura and Zessica being a couple is awkward but it’ll be hilarious if Kagura was sniffing people and Zessica trolling the others by imitating him.
