Rinne no Lagrange – 06: Muginami is Stupid

I hope that Villagiulio is happy... cuz I am not.

Muginami…just wow… I know that it sucks being dumped and she has every right to feel sad about it. I just don’t understand why she is like so many other girls who blame themselves for being dumped. It will probably win top honors for dumbest line ever once this show is over. Worse still Muginami still believes in Villagiulio despite the fact he tried to kill her with a city busting beam cannon. The only reason he missed was because Lan cared enough for Mugnaimi to shoot Villagiulio before he could follow through on his trigger pull. Muginami better not mistake that near miss as an act of kindness from Villagiulio, what she needs to do is tell her story and see if Lan went through the same thing. Muginami just got hit with a whole lot of stupid though Moid is equally stupid for letting Muginami sortie in the first place. Madoka is one of a kind and out of the three of them only she was the one with the presence of mind to demand revenge. Lan was unsure while Muginami was still holding out hope that she could patch things up.

Yes Muginami didn’t ask for Madoka to get revenge for her, but that’s how a friend is supposed to react. Granted Madoka would have been better off trying to console Muginami but there was going to be a fight at dawn anyway. Still from what I have been told, when something traumatic happens to a person the first impulse is usually revenge, but more often than not that is not what the victim needs most. Madoka’s heart was in the right place even if her head was not. Still Muginami was some kind of thick for fighting against Lan and hurling insults at the Jersey Club, Madoka does love her and did take her in even though she did not know Muginami. Madoka never once questioned Muginami’s sincerity and now it seems that Lan was right from the beginning. It’s a sad turn of events because it is not like Madoka did anything all that different from Villagiulio when she took Muginami in. If anything, Madoka’s love was unconditional while Villagiulio had a personal agenda when he took Muginami in. I just hope that Muginami gets over her case of the stupid so that she can mend fences with Madoka and Lan. I demand that Muginami apologize for insulting the Jersey Club like that. It was hardly a selfish endeavor to begin with and going after Villagiulio seemed like the helpful thing to do, not only for Muginami but also for Earth.

If anyone was being selfish it was Muginami for putting her love above everything and demanding that she be understood when she wasn’t being totally honest to begin with. I am sure she is a nice person but good grief did her obsession with Villagiulio lead to some unseemly things. While I think it is possible that not everyone can achieve memoria I wonder why Muginami was chosen, perhaps her Vox is the most fickle of the three. I suppose we will learn more later on, since Lan does need to tell Madoka of the fate of those who achieve memoria. Moid and Villagiulio being overly happy about Rin-ne blossoming has me a bit worried maybe both are bad guys and it is only a matter of time before Kirius and Izo throw their lot in with Lan and Madoka. Also thank you Lan for bringing Madoka back and probably saving everyone in the process, I really hope that you will be the one to set things right again. Still where the heck is Array? I know he escaped but where to? Is there yet another faction out there? Is the whole galaxy at war?

I guess Sunrise doesn’t have a monopoly on goofy names any more, since Moid’s full name is Balance T. Moid. Goofy name or not it seems that only he and Villagiulio know the full story of the voxes, but as to whether they want the same thing I have no idea. All this mystery just makes me want to know more but I guess we are only going to get little snippets, which is just fine. What we do know now is that Villagiulio’s fall was probably shortly after Lan’s Brother went off with Demetrio. Judging by the PV for next week it is likely that L’Garite routed Villagiulio’s house for treachery. Villagiulio’s house seems to be distrusted by both sides so it seems likely that he did betray Lan all those years ago and that act was so vile that not even Demetrio looked upon Villagiulio kindly after that.

I just wonder if Muginami was from Villagiulo’s homeworld or just a refugee that happened upon the scum sucker when he fled from L’Garite and Demetrio. While Muginami was laying on the stupid it was a funny episode where they were pimping energy drinks and Madoka had a failure to launch moment. That briefing was really something, and it is good to know that Tadokoro isn’t an idiot and does want to minimize the collateral damage as best he can. Yoko might be the one to expose Moid, but in the meantime Sota is desperately trying to initiate romance. I only wish we saw him digging through the dumpster, though he probably should try and be forth coming even if YokoxMachiko is my OTP. The comedy was again in the right places and it does help keep the series from descending into angst as Muginami didn’t spend the whole episode moping around. Hiroshi telling the story of his divorce was at once sweet and funny because Muginami fell asleep.

The mecha combat was fairly nice all things considered I was annoyed that Villagiulio brought a city vusting beam cannon, but Novumundus did much good by developing copy of an Ovid blade and giving Lan some firepower so that she can support Madoka. I just hope that Lan has some sword skills that way she can fight back to back with Madoka. I am glad that they did not totally discard fisticuffs as the most satisfying amount of destruction was when Madoka was punching in the faces of Kiss’ drones. Despite Muginami’s legendary stupidity this week I still want more, for me this show just can’t do anything wrong.

Hehe, maybe one day you can run the whole operation, but at least you are eager for battle.
