Even the nameless detectives cannot die.

It’s been too long since my last Mazinger Z post and while the summary was easy enough I am still at a loss for words to properly gush over just how EPIC it was and how much it moved me as a mecha fan. In any case it seems that Hell and Kenzo were in cahoots for a while and slaughtered a whole lot of Mycenae while rotting Tristan and Iseult. Baron Ashura swore terrible vengeance and teamed up with Mazinger Z and the rest of the gang. Gamia-chan was at her loveliest this ep as she shallenged the King of Hell and held it at bay until Mazinger Z went into to finish the job. The Mazinger Army was also most useful after they revealed that within each held a part that was worth much more than the actual mecha. Wife Beater Kenzo tries to make amends but I am still sorely disappointed in Tsubasa’s for not ending Kenzo’s misery buy running her Z Blade right through his thick skull. After 100 some odd combined Rocket Punches and the most Ultra Gorgeous BIG BANG PUNCH the King of Hell is slain. It was so beautiful and made me want to punch something at the same time. Nevertheless the treachery continues as Ashura had only wanted to kill Dr. Hell so that it could commit hara-kiri by ripping itself apart. With that a sequel was confirmed in a manner most dire as the not so dead Mycenae Empire invades the Earth with many pillars and the new Big Bad cuts Mt. Fuji down to size.

Final Thoughts

It was such a fun ride and I still want more of it, from the two OPs just oozing the kind of Hot-Bloodedness that makes you want to punch something or some one with gusto to the parade of treachery, it was a all out celebration of the Super Robot genre. As a new comer I do not mind how they reinvented the canon and it works remarkably well despite being a pastiche of different works. It was not simply a retread or the kind of re-imaginary betrayal that led to that bullshit called Cosmic Era, but while the story was altered the spirit was undeniably old school and, in my opinion, all the better for it. It was most innovative of them to cut out the monster of the week and when there was a fight it was a freaking brawl and a hyper violent one at that with limbs and heads being ripped apart.

In my book I think Shin Mazinger Z gets the crown for mecha series this year because Igloo 2 was all too short and while Gundam 00 chugged along fairly well, I simply did not like how the franchise has moved away from it’s real robot roots, but at the same time cannot hope to compete in the same realm as Shin Mazinger Z. Unlike Gundam which has pretty much opted for beam weapons and beam sabers in lieu of a wider range of weaponry like in the ye olde days, Shin Mazinger Z celebrated the Rocket Punch. I admit that I am no lover of beam spam and laser light shows, but for some reason the Rocket Punch just spoke to me in ways a beam saber can’t. Overall Mazinger Z was gloriously tactile when it came to combat the Photon Beam was OP but it saw much less use than the humble Rocket Punch. I don’t really have the words to describe it but there was something more primeval about just tearing your opponent to shreds, ripping off the limbs, and punching in its face that seems manlier than just stabbing him though and having your opponent explode. I guess I just like watching pieces fly.

Jihad-Jesus-kun may have more fans, Igloo 2’s Death may be of the Yuri and toying with Nazon, but I still think Almighty Zeus is the Mecha God of the year and perhaps for decades to come. I rarely see shows that celebrate a god like figure, and in Shin Mazinger Z they gave super robot fans a new Lord to praise and a few slogans to use forever more. I cannot put into words how much fun it is to use caps lock and type in stuff like: SHINE IN THE NAME OF ZEUS, SMASH EVERYTHING INTO ATOMS, and IN THE NAME OF SHINING ZEUS. It just gets the blood pumping like noting else.

Story wise they did so much better than I could have expected with the radical departure from monster of the week to betrayal upon betrayal and the slow revelation of why people are fighting. While they ruined the end of every arc from the start it did not take away the thrill of the ride. I like how the good guys are just as fucked up as their enemies and don’t harp on crap like justice and arresting people. No here it’s an unapologetic stance of I’LL JUST KICK THE CRAP OUT OF YOU AND TOUGH SHIT IF YOU DIE. In this way they avoided much of the angst that teenagers lap up. Another wondrous point was how they could all of a sudden go into comedy mode with Boss, Blocken Soccer, the introduction of the Corps of Detectives, and Lecherous Schneider V2. I like how they made Mazinger Z undisputedly superior and while it would always win eventually it was the daft decisions of its pilot and other characters that prevented it from winning every inning. Mazinger Z would always prevail, but it did not win every bout which is kind really nice as it is comes of as a knock out drag out fight to the finish rather than a short duel every ep, but without going through multiple eps trying to up power levels or charge the laser.

I can forgive every one not dying since death means nothing to Hot-Blooded Heroes, given how Gamia met her demise rather early on I did not mind one bit that she was repaired and brought back. The Kurogane Five were already zombies of sort from the start, and Juuzo did really die, but his replacement, the Ultra Gorgeous Computer Grandpa kept his spirit going. It was a fanservicy show, but not in the traditional hawtness method. Gamia-chan is the kind of girl only a mechatard can love given how she still has joint lines and isn’t really a girl, ditto for Lorelei. Sayaka was humiliated more often than not and her fansevice was more lulz than ZOMG HAWTNESS. Maybe I just don’t like Sayaka and think of her as being utterly useless as Venus A, but let’s be honest here we have had traps that look better than her. Besides, her IQ is a dismally low as her combat abilities, and I don’t really like faux action girl types.

In the end I will miss this series very much as it was my kind of mecha, as I only really enjoy Real Robot and Super Robot when they celebrate all the aspects that mark them as members of each camp. If I have one complaint it would be the lack of budget, but there isn’t really much else to complain about from the stand point of Super Robot. As a Super Robot series is succeeds magnificently, but I don’t think this will be everyone’s cup of tea since Super Robot is pretty niche. There is no pretense to realism, just an unabashed celebration of Super Robot, Rocket Punches, raunchy humor, and hot-bloodedness. But still in the end, IN THE NAME OF SHINING ZEUS THERE WILL BE A SEQUEL, so FUCK YEAH!

Final Grade: A+ (For mecha fans only, do not take if you have no love of mecha or hot-blooded protagonists that have no time for weeping and/or women. Side effects include Punching Out Your Boss, Tossing Things That Resemble Fists, SMASHING EVERYTHING INTO ATOMS, Getting Into BIG FIGHTS, Carving “Z” into Everything You Own, and Using Caps Lock to Praise Almighty Zeus. So with the BIG FIGHT in full swing I enjoying every minute of Shin Mazinger Z. I agree that with V2 Schneider that Shin Mazinger Z must be applauded for avoiding the monster of the week and simply going with full on knock out brawls. With Photon Labs having been SMASHED INTO ATOMS Ultra Gorgeous Computer Juuzo finally arrives with the God Scrander to give a long over due beat down to Bardos no Ace and his gaggle of mechanical beasts. Baron Ashura embarrassed himself by being a coward and was fittingly beaten around a bit by Boss Borot. I am actually starting to take a liking to Boss and Boss Borot, they might not be winners but they sure do a lot more than the Mazinger Army, though eventually the Mazinger Army does get parity. I like how there seem to be no limits to what they are willing to do in this series and the biggest laugh in the episode was when V2 Schneider attempted to tentacle raep Venus A. If it weren’t with mecha then I am sure some one’s head would be rolling, but since only die hard mechatards actually watch this show that V2 Schneider derived an obscene amount of enjoyment from it. The best part we where Mazinger Z BiG BANG PUNCHES Ghoul and has it Kamikaze Ashura as the Bumbling Baron is staring at Duke Gorgon’s chiseled features. Eventually Tsubasa plays her ace in the hole and Mazinger Army Mobile Dolls start to sortie and surround Bardos Island. Given how this is Super Robot taken to eleven there is a zero percent casualty rate though the killer cops are still MIA at the moment. While the Photon Fortress looks rather boring it does pack a wallop and it does a fine job of blowing off chunks of mecha and rock. Tsubasa also gimps Yasu and takes the bomb to use against Kenzo. Unfortunately for Tsubasa it seems that Dr. Hell had some secret plans of his own and quickly regains the upper hand once again, at least Kenzo the wife beater got what was coming to him and lost all of his man hood, while Kenzo could have been cool it seems that Blocken already has the headless villain thing down so Kenzo looks like even more of a copy cat and no talent loser. I bet Juuzo was so happy to have disowned him when he did given how Kenzo has gone Kedora. Next week episode is a sight I dearly want to see 100 RAPID SHOTS OF ROCKET PUNCH! This shit is going to be good.

We finally get to the long awaited and highly anticipated BIG FIGHT and so far things look pretty bad for Mazinger Z as Kouji is unable to keep up with the best team that Dr. Hell has put together. Still while Kouji struggles it seems that every one from the Masses of the Kurogane House to Venus A are off to a good start. I just loved how Pygman was using endangered species to clear minefields, I bet that must have given PETA an aneurysm. Still it was strange for Pygman not even mentioning Africa and referring to it as that land. Oddly enough it seems that Sayaka was the one full of lose this time but Yumi who was so sure that Venus A was useless he lowered his shields to let Pygman in. I guess he was partially redeemed by blowing up his own base for Great Team Killing. Ashura turns out to be quite the coward as it was all a ploy by Dr. Hell to keep Mazinger Z from blowing his army to bits. Nevertheless everyone including Boss Borot reap a fearsome toll of dead Ashura Corps though the Iron Cross Army has yet to make their air drop. Still I cannot wait to see Mazinger Z dock with the God Scrander to continue this BIG FIGHT. Also looking forward to seeing that wife beater Kenzo get stabbed.

While there was a fight in this episode it wasn’t the BIG FIGHT, still it was one of the funniest episodes. Sayako bears the brunt of the crude humor, but to be honest since she is as useless as Aphrodai A I don’t really care for her at all. Certainly she doesn’t light the fires of my fanboy adoration like Alphard onee-sama, and as such I found it easy to laugh at the attempted gang raep, and Sayako and Kouji’s fun time at the onsen. Hell even the narrator was in on it by mocking them and their flirtatious behavior before the BIG FIGHT. At least they didn’t waste our time with trying to make this SayakoxKouji relationship to be a big deal and since this is Super Robot I was pleased that they went with heavy handed romance and didn’t pretend that it was otherwise, plus they got trolled. Say what you will about Mazinger Z but that narrator is one of the best damn ones I have seen in a while, I bet it would have made that Cosmic Era shit go down easier if they went with a narrator such as the one from Mazinger Z. Other things of note was that Ankokuji was working for the IAEA and called bullshit on Yumi’s Photonic program which is simply a cover for producing WMDs. Tsubasa is getting ready to fight Kenzo, but takes her kids to visit Juuzo’s grave. Dr. Hell pushes for a one on one fight but instead of havin Dr. Hell vs. Kouji Baron Ashura steps up after putting the Mazinger Army back in its place and kicking the crap out of Venus A on her first sortie. Venus A does indeed suck as it uses Z Cutters instead of going with ROCKET PUNCH in line with the Mazinger Army having downgraded versions of Mazinger Z’s weapons arsenal. As such at least the Mazinger Army had one good sortie while Venus A has none…Boss was giving Kouji crap despite his Boss Borot being made of paper and paste, worst of all Shiro started mouthing off too despite being pretty useless himself it was pretty funny since both are already laughing stocks for insulting Mazinger Z every time Kouji loses. At any rate BIG FIGHT next time; BIG FIGHT, BIG FIGHT. I do hope that Kouji calls in his God Scrander so that he me SHINE IN THE NAME OF ZEUS and SMASH ASHURA INTO ATOMS!

It was disappointing to see that there would be no BIG FIGHT this time, and while the clips they used were cool, it was still essentially a clip show. New information was limited and consisted of Pygman’s bait and switch with Ashura. Dr. Hell is going to war but Duke Gorgon prophesies that Dr. Hell will soon die. I thought it was funny how Blocken also has a medical degree though it seems that mad scientists are out in force in this series anyway. The only real question presented here is what the hell happened between Ankokuji and Tsubasa at the end, though I suspect that Kenzo might have his own agenda. Boss seems to be working to pay for a robot of his own but I suspect that it will be crappier than Aphrodite A. Seems that Tsubasa wanted to pit Kabuto against Kabuto to avenge Tetsuya and delightfully admitted that she would have used Shiro in the even that Kouji failed, truly she is a terrible mother. Baron Ashura tires to an Hero himself, but Dr. Hell implanted a protocol that prevented Ashura’s death until Dr. Hell’s demise, I am sure Gorgon will arrange that soon enough. Baron Ashura is quite the traitor first he gets all weepy about Mycenae and swears his fealty to Dr. Hell after getting a mehcanical beast made in his image. Silly Ashura even his new toy will be no match for the BIG BANG PUNCH. In the end though I am glad the focused on two important things, ROCKET PUNCH, and Zeus’ awesome type ROCKET PUNCH. Well here is hoping for Mazinger Z to SMASH EVERYTHING INTO ATOMS. (Post is late, but Mazinger Z 23 post will be done…as soon I can stop laughing every time Venus A loses.)

It’s all Kenzo’s fault! The dirty little traitor with his dirty little pedostache!

I have never seen a more fucked up yet simultaneously awesome family like the Kabuto clan. We get a little more history about what happened all those years ago on Bardos Island. We saw the rise of Dr. Hell, the loss of Juuzo’s depth perception, the treachery of Kenzo, and the forging of Tsubasa from round wide eyed scientist to a ruthless killing machine that could sell her own son. Pygman tries to use the ghost of Tetsuya as a means to kill Tsubasa softly and for a while it works since every one is a master of disguise in this show. I like how now one really wept over Kenzo’s betrayal as Juuzo wasted no time in disowning his treacherous son and Tsubasa had no problems wasting the guy. I found it funny how Dr. Hell boasted of conquering the world in three days, I am doubtful that there is a correlation but given Dr. Hell’s failure it was very much like the old Japanese boast of Shanghai in three days, China in three months. The little Energer Z diversion was rather welcome as a sort of anime within and anime complete with title screen. While Kouji embarrassed himself while fighting Kenzo, who turned out to be Blocken, was a fun mirror match it was quickly outdone by Tsubasa stabbing Pygman and going town while calling for GOD SCRANDER!

I was not really touched byt Shiro and Kouji starting to call Tsubasa mom though Kouji is very good at sucking up, but was cool about this re-establishment of family was Juuzo coming back as the computer for Mazinger Z, so while he is most certainly dead this was a oh so sneaky way of bringing him back in spirit while avoiding ZOMG HE HAD AN IDENTICAL TWIN WHO DOES THE EXACT SAME THING! I like how AI Juuzo has a tail running out of his ass since it make clear that the the old man is a lecherous rat. So GOD SCRANDER makes it’s debut which pretty much overshadows everything except Gamia coming back. Ankokuiji and Gamia make their long awaited return after Zombie Kenzo helps them out and uses them as messengers. While Pygman was a mid-boss it seems that death is not so permanant for the Kurogane Five though in all fairness they were already dead when Tsubasa met them. I like how they brought in a bunch of “detectives” who looked more like Yakuza as reinforcements. Speaking of Reinforcements it seems that the eternally useless Mazinger Army finally got a few upgrades as each of them got one of Mazinger Z’s patented weapon systems though the most important, the famed ROCKET PUNCH, was noticeably absent. Also absent was Aphrodite A…

Special mention must be made about the BIG BANG PUNCH it was so utterly epic that it forced Blocken to 9/11 Dr. Hell. SHINE IN THE NAME OF ZEUS indeed. I busted a gut when the mob of detectives made their formal introduction in unison though it seems that there is at least one female detective on the team. Also of note was the Z toothpick… Lastly Gamia cosplay was gorgeous, delicious, and deculture. Also ULTRA GORGEOUS COMPUTER GRANDPA was YAKKKKK DECULCHA, certainly it was a rather creative way to bring Juuzo back as anything other than a flashback.

If Zeus were still roaming about he’d simply take it back from any one foolish enough to stand in his way. Otherwise how do you return it to a God who can no longer be seen?

Man Zeus really knows how to party, Baron Ashura still has a hangover a thousand years later...

It has been far too long an interlude since I made the last post, and certainly my work load is only increasing though I hold out faint hope that I will have more time in October. While super robot is usually about robots kicking the crap out of each other Mazinger Z does this and much more. I really like how Kouji is not just a snot nosed punk raving about justice and world peace, unlike other protagonists with their lousy tacked on tragedies the Kabuto clan is one fucked up family. The tale of the Kabuto clan is almost as interesting as the action and taken by itself is a pretty decent story compared to other series.  (Also trying out a new quicker format for posting.)

I am genuinely surprised that Baron Ashura got a whole lot more development than villains usually get. Usually there is some sort of crap justification for why people go bad but here Iseult and Tristan started out rotten and wanted power and godhood. Nevertheless they were still patriots of Mycenae which was starting to get pretty fucked up. Even if they were evil at least they knew something about loyalty which makes their treachery as Baron Ashura all the more damning as Duke Gorgon still believes and seems to rather die a thousand deaths than ever serve Dr. Hell.

Still despite treachery begetting treachery it was a wonderful history lesson about the God of Mecha, Lord Zeus. Even if Zeus was incapable of suspicion and wished to believe that there was some good in Duke Gorgon at least when proven wrong he fought like mad to kill his e enemies instead of weeping over their treachery. I am at a loss of words to describe how EPIC it was to watch Mazinger Z fight alongside Zeus as heir and ally. Improvised Rocket PUNCH was ten kinds of WIN and AWESOME and brought back fond memories of DaiGuard AWESOME type indeed.

A Man of Determination...

Defiantly facing insurmountable odds…

It was sad to watch the doom of the Kurogane Five who are now the Kurogane One. At least they Django and the Master got really good deaths not so sure about Cross and Yasu, especially the latter who walked right into it. Still it Django blowing Duke Gorgon’s brains out was pretty cool. After they were gone Tsubasa just wasn’t herself any more and it seems that Tetsuya be hating on her for taking away his mecha. So it seems that back in the day Tetsuya and Kenzo were like Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, Tetsuya tells the jokes and Kenzo gets the girl. Though poor Stroheim he held the torch for Tsubasa for so long and he loses out to a wife beater like Kenzo. Still I suppose this is poetic justice as we all know how Patrick and Katie got BEST END, since it was the Katie Punch that altered their fates for the better. This Kenzo slap ont eh other hand cannot compare to the infamous Bright Slap. Even with this Energer Z I still think Mazinger Z can kick it’s ass any day of the week, twice on Sunday, and smack Energer Z back into last week. Still we shall see how Tetsuya is going to kill Tsubasa FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE. Nevertheless I suppose that Karma has finally caought up to Tsubasa after killing the one guy who loved her even after she had some other dude’s kids.

And they got along so well together…

Poor Stroheim was quite a character (and quite heavily armed…), and certainly he seems to have once counted the most lovingly designed mecha with in Mazinger Z with their elegant lines. Even if this show is HOT BLOODED as the series of old, I like how even the good guys aren’t all “good.” This is pretty much a pissing contest between the biggest brains of the age, and not some damned simplified idealistic crusade. So it has been revealed that Tsubasa has killed both men who dared to love her. We still don’t know why she killed Kenzo, or let alone marry him and give him babies, but poor Stroheim was really carrying the torch for even after she came back with Kenzo’s kids he still would have taken her back. Sadly, he knew nothing of her treachery. I suppose there was a good reason for it all, though if Tsubasa was willing to let Shiro die and kill Stroheim to further her ambition I cannot help but wonder what her agenda is. At least with Dr. Hell it’s pretty straight forward. Poor Lorelei did fulfill her father’s wish but sadly Mazinger Z was unbeatable even if Kouji is still lacking as a pilot. I did like how Lorelei still told Shiro to fuck himself as Stroheim had every right to demand justice form the Kabuto family after they pretty much screwed him over.

As Kenzo is batting for Dr. Hell for sure I am interested to see this Kabuto curse in all its glory. Now that we have a mother that was willing to kill her husband and her own children this is not your typical lame modern mecha fare, oh no… Maybe Tsubasa will do even more shocking things than Medea when she was wronged by Jason. Still for a dead guy Stroheim was pretty bad ass. Ankokuiji is still carrying the torch for his beloved Gamia, even if he still lacks firepower his LOYALTY more than makes up for it. Considering the amount of treachery that probably went on, it seems that loyalty is a rare trait. I guess Mazinger Z will continue to dominate the playing field now that Danube was bested, if only Aphrodai A was half as useful, ditto for the Mazinger Army.

I guess I can thank Uncle Sam for making all my traveling arrangements for me, though I wish the crabby old man would have given me a better flight than one at 0600 on a Sunday. Ah well as such I have much ground to cover but not a lot of time to do it. Well here goes a quick recon report on Aoi Hana – 01, Mazinger Z – 13, Sora no Manimani – 01, and Umi Monogatari – 02.

Aoi Hana – 01: Kawamori Strikes Back

Beware of sis-cons driving cars…though he might as well get a pedobear suit with accompanying van.

It certainly seems to be much more slice of life than other yuri series I have seen and as such there doesn’t seem to be a tall dark and bishojo to act as the Chikane-class alpha female. Instead in an interesting reversal the super tall Fumi Manjome-san is the cry baby with the washboard. In contrast her designated life partner Akira “Achan” Okudaira seems to be the brave one. Incidentally it seems that Aoi Hana seems to have it in for dudes with sis-con as Shinobu is a butt monkey who likes his imouto a little too much. I suppose that Zyl will have a field day drawing comparisons between Shinobu and Stripey as is the way of Red Zakus. Both may go to different schools but it seems that both go to all girl schools. Achan’s school seems to also have an attached loli-school whose students are simply criminally cute. Even if Fumi is no Katie, she still gets three admirers off the bat who assume that she is Chikane-class and hope to get her into their drama club so they can yuri tea parties. A-chan gets no yuri harem or fan club, but it seems that Kyoko Ikumi has locked S-Foils in attack position and is ready to make a milk run on Achan. I wonder if Kyoko is going to aspire to become Chikane-class because that would be fucking sweet. To be sure there probably were other embarrassing incidents for Fumi, but why they chose her wetting herself is beyond me…In any case Fumi’s cousin and long time yuri pal Chizu gets a pineapple cakey and is sent off to marry some dude. Fumi is understandably distraught that it was time for Chizu to marry and pretend to be heterosexual.

All in all I will watch because it is yuri, and that cakey thing was like a FALCON PUNCH to the gut.

Mazinger Z – 13: Up Your Arsenal

Woah there what do you mean “IF” Mazinger Z wins…?

I suppose the moral of this story is that the Right to Bear Arms is a fundamental right. Simply put, what kind of self respecting person would pass up an arsenal made by Kabuto? No one, that’s who; well, except for pansy girly men who fear weapons. Ankokuji is still loyal to the memory of his beloved Gamia, and who could blame him as Shiro turns to the loli path and suspects everyone but his mother of being a loli-con. Ankokuji put it best though, no rack = no interest, even if Lorelei is probably mecha too. While Baron Ashura was a huge butt monkey it seems that against Mazinger Z even Count Blocken becomes one too, though at least he did manage to blow up the Jet Scrander. Still Mario N7 was not long for the world as his Marionettes were no match for Ankokuji’s new arsenal. Unlike other mecha series guns are used liberally here as any mecha pilot ought to be able to fight competently outside of the cockpit like the Great Prince Ali. Ah how I miss the old days before this faux righteousness fad of more talking and less shooting took hold. So old man Stronheim seems to have a thing for Tsubasa, who is now revealed to be Kouji and Shiro’s mom, ah well I suppose coming back from the dead is as good a declaration of love as any. Still the poor man waited all his life only to find that his one and only already had two kids…ouch.

Sora no Manimani – 01: Astrology in my Astronomy?!

I did not know the Wii could make something like this…

Well not really but while the first ep was well animated, pretty, and filled with bright colors; it seems to be a bit lacking on the comedy side. Moreover I think as time goes one people will find Mii-chan to be irritating, she reminds me of Tenma of School Rumble though it seems there will be little need to reset the relationships given the male to female ratio. It’s pretty clear that Saku-chan is doomed to be the bride of Mii-chan so hopefully this will be more romantic comedy than hateful harem. I hope the comedy picks up because otherwise it will probably get old quick. The episode itself was alright it had its moments though I think Saku-chan should have imagined his nemesis Mii-chan as a fat yaoi fan girl with a paddle, but a missed opportunity I suppose. At the very least it seems to have no panty shots though they probably should go more over the top. Still I suppose as long as the animation is crisp there is still hope for this. The manga is ongoing so there is some people out there who like it. If it’s going to stay more on the romantic side that’s fine though I was hoping that I would have busted a gut laughing.

Still Fumin  is superior, that is all.

Umi Monogatari – 02: Kanon’s Ultimate Techinique…

Thank goodness at least Marin is a card carrying lesbain.

For a first mahou shojo battle it wasn’t too bad as there were fewer speed lines than anticipated and the sequence where Marin was dodging and taking pot shots was mildly Macrossian. If only Kanon called her attacks and said attack was SEKIHA TENKYOKEN, ah well I suppose this isn’t slated to be a series where Marin and Kanaon’s blood will be BURNING RED. Not much happened in terms of story but it seems that Kanon is getting some guests to her home next week. I wonder how young Kanon’s mom was if Kanon is not hitting 18 years of age, but is suppose anime being anime that it’s only a minor detail. It’s kind of funny how the turtle was mocking Kanon for not being chaste when it was Marin who actually wore something even skimpier. Still I suppose the highlight for me was predictably when Marin confessed her yuri love for Kanon who should join the yuri side after her dip shit boyfriend reneged on his promise. Not that it was the only yuri moment, it seems that the servants of Sedna take the guise of women and have a penchant for wrapping around Kanon and go all out in trying to take her first kissu. In the end I probably won’t be dropping this until 7 eps later if it starts dragging. Nevertheless I enjoyed this one much more than the first.
